Fridge / Star Trek: Picard S3E01 "The Next Generation"

• The reveal that Beverly's been estranged from her Enterprise shipmates and Picard since Nemesis retroactively answers a longstanding question going back Season One's "Maps and Legends": If Picard needed a medical evaluation to certify he was fit for space travel, why did he reach out to his Stargazer CMO Moritz Benayoun rather than to Beverly? While there were any number of potential in-universe or real-life reasons (ex. Beverley wasn't on-world or Gates McFadden wasn't available), we now have a canonical explanation: Picard hadn't spoken to Beverly in 20+ years and thus had no idea where she was (and even if he did, Picard had no reason to believe she'd even speak to him given their falling out and her severing all ties with their shipmates from the Enterprise).
• Beverly had logs from "The Best of Both Worlds" open on her desktop because she was looking up the name of the virus that they used in the Borg encounter.
  • At the same time, it makes sense that the audience wouldn't know what the virus was since it was never shown and most scenes following Picard's rescue focused on Data trying to reach Picard.
