    Gerald's Game (Film)

Fridge Brilliance

  • The ending reveals Death or "the moonlight man" is real and likely ate parts of Jessie's husband. This suggests the split-second scene where he licks Jessie's feet is also real. It also calls into question how Jessie's interactions with hallucination characters and the dog really played out.
  • When Jessie works out her escape by cutting herself and using the blood as a lubricant and slip her hand out of the cuff. She explains why slitting the wrist is usually an effective method of suicide. The hallucination of Gerald asks how Jessie knows this. She never says how, but the implication is obvious.
  • A bit of Fridge Brilliance about Jessie's final line: "You are so much smaller than I remember." On rewatch viewers will notice that Young Jessie says this exact line at the beginning of the flashback when she sees the house her family will be staying at. And what does her father say? "It's because you're bigger." What Jessie is saying is that she is now bigger, and that all the men in her life who made her feel small are smaller as a result.

Fridge Horror

  • "All things serve the Beam" means this takes place in the The Dark Tower universe meaning supernatural horrors do lurk in the night and break into bedrooms. It also opens up the door to the entire Stephen King expanded universe of horrible things that could happen to you while you're trapped, helpless and alone. There's nothing stopping Pennywise the dancing clown for example from waltzing in.
