• It was rather strange at first when the author decided to have the characters to refer to Miles by his surname. Then, once Balrog had been the exception, calling him by his first name, it hit me. The ponies use his last name as it sounds more like the name an Equestrian would have, while Balrog acknowledges that the human is from a different world.
