After the End
is a Calvin and Hobbes fanfiction written by WorldsWorthWords. It follows a young adult Calvin and his friend Hobbes, here a tiger-like mutant, as they traverse a ruined world and eke out what existence they can. But when they meet a mysterious young girl, and find out that she is being pursued by dark forces, things get even more dangerous and complicated.
After the End includes the following tropes:
- Adaptational Species Change: In the original comic strip, Hobbes's nature is ambiguous. He may be a simple stuffed tiger, a magical talking tiger, or some combination of the two. Here, he's a cat-like mutant.
- After the End: It's in the title, after all. The world around Calvin and Hobbes has been destroyed by "cataclysmic apocalypses".
- I Do Not Own: The author clarifies at the beginning of the fic that they do not own any of Calvin and Hobbes's characters.
