** Even worse for him in the Renegade timeline, [[spoiler:as he is rendered completely powerless after he is reconstituted with the power of the Sword of Second and Third, before being ultimately Assimilated by the Renegade]].
* ItsPersonal: Despises OL for what he did to Teekl. Paragon OL stole Teekl, Renegade OL killed Teekl. So when he meets up with OL, he tries to get revenge.
* KilledOffForReal: He was slain with the Sword of Second and Third in the Renegade timeline to make sure that he stays dead in the Renegade timeline. [[spoiler:Averted after it's revealed that the sword reconstitutes its victims, but without their powers. Played straight when the Renegade finds out about this, tracks him down, and Assimilates him.]]

* FaceDeathWithDignity: In ''Failsafe'', Luthor refuses to leave his office in order to activate a protective shield over his building, protecting his fleeing employees. He gives OL [=LexCorp=]'s technical database and asks him to beat back the invasion before dying. Downplayed, as this wasn't actually Luthor, but a telepathic simulation of him.

* DePower: He loses his connection to the Plane of Chaos in ''Last Supper'' in the Paragon timeline. [[spoiler:In the Renegade timeline, he reconstitutes as a powerless mortal after being killed by the Renegade, who used the Sword of Second and Third.]]

* SpeakOfTheDevil: ''Dear John'' reveals that Boss Smiley not only has the ability to hear whenever anyone says his name, but it even extends to his chosen appellations like "the Prince of the World".

* HappilyMarried: To Hope O'Dare as of ''Excavation''.

* CharacterDevelopment: He gets some thanks to some offhand observations by the Renegade and Truggs. As such, he becomes much less paranoid and more trusting.
