Awesome / Princess Ponies

• Blossom in the second book is terrible at dressage...but amazing at actual racing. It's noted that she ends up being far ahead and solidly in first place.
• The entire climax of the second book:
  • The second horseshoe is below tide level and high tide is coming...and there's a powerful whirlpool next to it that could easily drag it, and any of the protagonists who are too close to it, out to sea. Cue a Race Against Time to reach it before then, despite both Pippa and Stardust being exhausted and very much risking their lives in the process. It's at this point you understand why Jeff Norton calls the series fantasy adventure.
  • Blossom gives up her race (which she was winning soundly) to come help. Being trained for athletic sports, she has far higher stamina than Stardust does and is much stronger, but there's no time to stop so Pippa can switch over safely...so Pippa decides to jump from Stardust to her while both are in full gallop, despite doing so putting her high enough for her fear of heights to kick in. She successfully does so, despite a close call of nearly falling off. She and Blossom then manage to hang on long enough while the whirlpool is threatening to suck them in to retrieve the horseshoe.
  • The Night Mares show up to try and stop them,threatening to hold Pippa and Blossom back long enough for them to be dragged out to sea by the raising tides. So Pippa just throws the horseshoe over their heads to Stardust, distracting them long enough for them to escape, Blossom having to fight the tide the whole way back.
