Since I now have a second party member, I went and bought a Cocoon Pizza from the shop.
Before I continued on with the story, I did a little exploring. I went north to the Blue Tunnel. I took the first path east, then followed it south to a box containing Hair Gel. I equipped it on Varik - it raised his defense by ONE whole point! Yay.
After that, I headed back to the shop and bought more Cocoon Pizzas and some Magic Taffy. I also bought a Psycho Pspirit - you're gonna need one for the next boss. Then I went into that building again and entered the middle door.
Door #2
You first arrive in some kind of cave. The enemies from the Blue Tunnel are in here. Just follow the path here to another cave entrance. There's a box here, but it's empty. (Supposedly there's a Silver Watch in here somewhere? I don't know, I've never found it. The present in here is always empty.)
In the next room, you'll find a house with sad music (the phone here doesn't work). Go through the door to find a room - watch it, there might be enemies! Here you'll find a present with a Ribbon - equip it on Paula. Either door here will lead you to a Moonside-esque room. Go left through a hallway, through another Moonside-ish room, and finally into a normal room with no sad music. Talk to the woman here, the leave out the way you came in. The room will change. There's now a phone and an Instant Revitalizing Device in here. Dr. Andonuts replaces the woman.
Use the device. You might want to save, too. Try to go out that left door one more time to find Jeff in another Moonsidian room. The doorway on your left will lead back to the cave entrance if you want to grind more. If not, talk to Jeff to start the boss fight.
Boss: Dearkhart
No, that's not a typo. This guy may look goofy, but he can really mess you up if you're not careful. He can use PSI Freeze, and has a physical attack that hits your whole party. Use the Psycho Pspirit immediately to reflect his PSI attacks back at him. Have Paula use Freeze on him every chance she gets, and eat a Magic Taffy when she runs out of PSI. I just had Varik use normal attacks. Try not to let their HP get below 40.
Both Varik and Paula gained a level from this fight - Varik learned Whiteshock Gamma, Cleanse Omega, and Barrier Alpha. Paula learned PSI Shield Omega and Magnet Omega.
After you beat him, you'll appear in a room with Dr. Andonuts. Talk to him, and the screen will fade to black again after he's done talking. You'll get another message from another Courage.
Magicant
You'll appear back in Magicant, and...hey! It's Jeff! He starts at Level 8 and comes with a Pop Gun, an H20 Pendant, an HP-Sucker, and a Sky Nectar. I gave him my other Moldy Cap and equipped him with everything. Then I rested and saved.
