In which the police ask for braaaaains.

After raiding the clubs for equipment, even getting a rapier from Tamaki, fulfilling her cameo role, I set forth to the wall. As those aware of a lack of step-by-step description will guess, I'm going on the main path, the SEBEC route. We approach the wall and get asked by Ayase if we are going to defeat SEBEC. We state that this is the case and against her protests we go! But what is this? A change in tune? (I need this as a ringtone) Why, it's Maki and she certainly seems a lot more like a Plucky Girl now, much to the surprise of Ayase and Yuko and Nat. (Even though Nat doesn't say anything) Nanjo appears through the hole and is likewise shocked about Maki's sudden appearance and chipper attitude. He then tells us that Mark has been taken captive in the police station and Nanjo is seeking help...if only for the security card. And hey! Looks like we are getting guns now. Hmm...still going to use our Persona whenever we can. Unless the enemies are weak. I hear a certain boss is very vulnerable to these.

One optimal equipment check later out the hole and...Maki is confused on what a police station is. Did she lose some memory in that ICU? Ehhhh? And cue Nanjo explaining in the most wordest way possible. Thank goodness I am a well-educated college student and understand it. Maki also questions the gym rebuilding with Nanjo stating it's been done six months ago when she was in the hospital. To which Maki says she never was. Nanjo then asks us privately if we should bring her along, since she seems to have amnesia. I'd agree but Maki insists on going along. Cue demon appearing and attacking. Maki misses attacking the demon but gains the persona Maso. And we gain a level up, with Nat being at level 10 and Maki and Nanjo at level 9. Nanjo explains the Persona bit to Maki and so we head off to save Mark! ONWARD MY AMIGOS!

Maki's Persona is Maso of the Priestess Arcana, which is known for being the persona and social links of Fuuka and Yukiko.

One Epic Fail of misreading the status and Nanjo dying and getting the Presto spell card, we enter the Police Station. In which the team, and by the team I mean Nat, searches for the key. And finds it, granting us access to the dungeon that is a police station.

Our first battle has Maso gaining a rank, learning Posumudi in the process. A failed contacting time but hey, Nat leveled up! We experience our first ambush battle in the next one, which rotates our position around, leaving Maki, whom I sent to the back, vulnerable. And even then, we manage to contact most of them away, even thought the last one intimated Nanjo into non-action, Nat and Maki took the demon out easily. Maso also gains another rank in our training , learning Rapid Fire along with Maki and Nanjo. Also during a bit of contacting, Nat managed to get some exp out from a frightened yet happy demon and leveled up. And after going to a Save Tree, Maki manages to get a zombie cop eager by being frightened of it and gains us a Spell Card.

We enter into the holding cell area, that's two floors down. I blame the reality warp for this but...really the cell that you want criminals close hand is way down deep in the station. Dungeon, don't question it! It turns out that Brown is also a captive here and Maki gets both of them out. Mark instantly asks Maki if she's okay and she says she's fine and then...here come the cops. Judging by the zombie cops that I fought before, these are our boss fight. And indeed they are...expect it's scripted. Every one of the team takes out a zombie, with Mark's Persona even gaining a rank up to 5. Huh. The lieutenant then attacks Brown with his weakness to Bufu and get's half of his HP shaved off before his Persona comes up and kills the Lieutenant. And everyone levels up. After getting the explanation, Brown gets pumped about getting his Persona. Mark rejoins the group and Brown asks if he could join in. Unfortunately, I'm saving a spot for someone so no thanks Brown.

And so begins a long trek back. -sigh- We'll end this as soon as we get out of the building. Nat's Persona levels up to rank 6 and so does Nanjo's Persona to level 5, learning Fist of Fury. Goodie! I was hoping for a skill other than Hama. And it's apparent that Nat and Maki are disproportionately getting the Exp, which is divided by who attacks the most efficiently and that goes more to the fastest ones in the group. And Nanjo's cutting sarcasm works well on Ba who gives him the card we crave.

At the enterence, we find that Mark is truly concerned about the Lieutenant, though he doesn't belive that the demon we defeated was him, and cementing the Nice Guy status with me. Come on, he does love his mother underneath his attitude and is very concerned for Maki. Meanwhile, Nanjo is a jerk about the Maki and Mark and wonders if we should leave them. No way buster! The more people, the better!

And so wraps up this part. Leaving me with some questions...why is Maki so chipper? Will Nanjo stop being a jerk? Can a small group of teenagers take on an evil cooperation? And most importantly, will we find another teammate? The answers, may come sooner. Or later. Tips and advice is appreciated and for now I say, “Adios Amigos!”

Maki's theme is I think the only of the character themes that is in the PSP version, though in fairness, I think it's the only one that is played with any frequency anyway. Maki is the main heroine after all.

I basically had Maki be my main healer. A lot of Priestesses and other Personas she has good affinity with are healers, and healing means she gets good EXP in just about every fight where she needs to use it.

Also, in response on you being happy that Nanjo got an offensive move other than Hama: Hama and Mudo actually don't suck in this game. Crazy, I know. However, it swings both ways, as the monsters can get pretty annoying with it.

Yeah. But Hama doesn't seem to do much damage here or else Nanjo is a weak attacker.
