Freedom, Countryside, and the Enigma

Or, in other words, liberating Daein from the oppressive Begnion regime, the second half of part 1 of Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn.

1-5 is a pretty boring chapter. Desert, a couple ledges, and a lot of enemies. Also, it's a rout chapter on Easy Mode, so those reinforcements need to die. And quickly too. Thankfully, by this time, Ilyana and Micaiah had reached the point where dying to random attacks wasn't a huge concern. Also, Ilyana promotes in this chapter. Basically, (for those unfamiliar with the series), her level resets to 1 (from 20), but her stats shoot up, gaining a bunch of speed, strength, and the like. She also gets an additional point of movement, which is quite relevant. 6 turns, which is acceptable.

1-6 is a two-part chapter. Part 1 goes pretty smoothly. Sothe takes the armor knights on the northeast while Micaiah, Jill, and Ilyana go toward the west to knock out the main batch of enemies. Even without transfer bonuses, Jill is an absolute tank on Easy Mode. (Which, despite the name, isn't as easy as one might think). She gains 4 levels on this part, which really helps her, as she gained speed on (I think) all four levels. Speaking of which, Micaiah is growing quite well in the speed department as well, but more on that later. Jill also got a forged Iron Axe, with which she is making very short work of all who would stand in her way. 6 turns for part 1.

Part 2, not so much. There's a few nasty enemies at the start of the level. One of which, as it turns out, has just enough strength to kill Micaiah from full health. And this is Fire Emblem, so people die when they are killed. Game Over, try again. This time, I try being a bit more... careful, and manage to survive the initial onslaught. Sothe and Ilyana go left, Jill goes right with her impressive movement and manages to save most of the knights and all the townsfolk from certain death. Much bonus EXP was gained that day. Also, Jill promotes here, which is nice. 5 turns.

1-7: Not much to say. Muarim get, and he could pretty much solo the rest of part 1 if he head enough Olivi Grass to smoke, er, I mean chew. However, I continue to feed Micaiah, Jill, and Ilyana enough kills to keep their levels high. On an important note, I have the Paragon scroll from the previous chapter, which is way better than it sounds. It doubles EXP gains. 6 turns here.

1-8: This is a real pain of a chapter, and I have to do it without Jill to boot, since apparently, she won't come along with the party here. Curse you, Complete Monster Izuka (spoiler alert: He very much is a CM.) Muarim stays mostly untransformed and takes the bottom. Sothe takes the Celerity scroll (+2 movement) and with some shoving from Vika and Tormod, heads toward the boss. Ilyana and Micaiah head toward the north. 7 turns.

1-9: Black Knight shows up, he does his thing. 7 turns. Micaiah's stats are really nice.

1-E: About to start this now. Moved some stuff around, changed some skills. Gave some nice gems to Ilyana, so she can send them over to the cash-strapped Greil Mercenaries for part 3...
