Welcome back, folks. Last time we made our first true foray into the second block of Tartarus, even getting up to the boss floor! Now, let's go back to the action!
At school the next day we chat with Junpei, who is still holding out hope for Fuuka joining us. I mean, we as genre savvy tropers know that he's correct, but still, dude... In class we find the creepy, creepy nurse is a teacher. I can barely contain my excitement. He starts rambling on about magic or some such nonsense, but it really just boils down to "study hard, students". He then goes on to keep on rambling about magic and how to accomplish it. Sigh. Is there a single non-crazy teacher in this school? Since we need some valuable blackmail material, we stay awake for as long as we can while the teacher rambles on about magic, occasionally mumbling "Yer a wizard, 'Arry" under his breath.
After that stupidity (says the man who regularly goes around beating up Shadows (shut up me! (make me!))) we head on over to the Police Station to see about stocking up on some stuff. As it turns out, we can get some Brass Knuckles for Akihiko, so let's go splash some cash on it! We could also do with some more in the way of supplies, so let's head over to the Pharmacy! I haven't talked about it before, but the pharmacy is where you can get medical supplies like medicine and the like. Helpful! Anyway, we have a bit of time, so let's get our daily dose of depression and sadness! That's right, it's the book-store social link!
We find Bukichi all alone, since his wife apparently departed for the high-school, supposedly to see the persimmon tree. We offer to wait with Bunkichi, which he seems quite happy about. We don't have to wait long, though, since Mitsuko soon appears, stuttering about a tree. Hmm... Bunkichi is worried that Mitsuko walked that far just to see the tree, but apparently there's a rumour that's going around that the tree will be cut down. We're asked to see what's up with the tree and then given a rank up for our troubles. Hooray! That was far less depressing than I thought it would be!
In the evening I decide to head over to the Velvet Room to see about some fusing business. Fusing Jack Frost and Omoikane together gives us Yomotsu Shikome, which we fuse with Orpheus to get Unicorn. Those Phantom Mages will be in for a surprise when they encounter us next... I would have liked to fuse Apsaras, Pixie and Jack Frost for Pyro jack as well, but alas I lacked the level required to pull him from the endless wave of cards. Hopefully another run through Tartarus will help with that. For now, though, sleep beckons! The next day we overhear some students chatting about a bunch of 10th graders picking on someone who clearly isn't Fuuka. Nope, of course not. Can't possibly be. We head on into class and ohgodnonotyouagain. Yep, wizard guy's back. Every word that comes out of this guy's mouth makes me want to throw Stephen Hawking at him. He lectures us about meditation which I try my best to skip through so I can be out of his presence more quickly. With that over, we find ourselves accosted by Hidetoshi... Sheesh, what is it with creepy people and being in a 5 ft radius of me today? He asks about leads on the cigarette, apparently unaware that we don't really care. Alsothatweplantedittoraisehisuspicionsandgethimmakingrashjudgements. -Deep breath- Anywho, we find ourselves not after school as we thought, but instead following Yukari along as she comes across two laughing students. I already want to punch them. Naka was right, these games need a punch button! Anyway, they're chatting about how cruel and malicious they are to their fellow students. Punch. Punch punch punch. Right in their faces. Yukari isn't impressed by this, raising my respect for her by a good number of pegs. One of the girls hears a strange voice, though... Possible Apathy Syndrome case in the making? Maybe...
Anyway, let's work off that frustration by... attending Student Council? Hey, this isn't how we relieve stress! We do it by beating up Shadows or teasing a certain someone about stuff! Stop this, fingers! Stop it now! -Sigh- Too late, we're already in the room. But hey, Mitsuru's around and Hidetoshi isn't, so we're already off to a good start! One of the council members explains to Mitsuru that he's off INVESTIGATING. Hey, that's the Persona 4 gang's shtick, stop stealing it! Mitsuru is surprisingly understanding about all this. We're allowed to leave, but as we go, we find Hidetoshi speaking with some other kid in the hallway. I do believe Hidetoshi has his man. I may have underestimated him... Then again, this is apparently the third person he's accused of smoking, so maybe I was wrong about my misjudging. We decide to intervene so that Hidetoshi doesn't get decked in the face. He may still prove useful to us, so let's not have him injured just yet. We tell him that he needs to lighten up, but this only launches another rant from him. Sigh. Whatever, let's just take the rank up and leave. It's time to go beat up some Shadows.
EDIT FROM THE FUUUUTUUUUURE: I killed the first Guardian of the second block. Thing went down in two turns, so I didn't consider it worth a real update. See you next time!
