In which fatigue rears its ugly head

Enough mucking about in the real world, let's make some progress in Tartarus! I tried to make a Nekomata by fusing Apsaras and Pixie together, but my level was not high enough, alas. We'll have to do something about that!

Our first battle does not go well, since I still had Escape highlighted without noticing. One accidental fleeing later, we make up for it by bashing in the heads of some Merciless Mayas. Our third battle gives Orpheus a level up, which is handy since he's been lagging behind a little bit. It also seems like Junpei's getting a little trigger-happy (pardon the pun) with his Persona, using it rather often against enemies. I mean, it's nice that he's using it and all, but he doesn't need to keep smacking them about with it. Ah well. Yukari, meanwhile, hasn't used her Persona at all, as far as I've been able to see. Ah well, I'm sure she'll start using it at some point. On another note, Tartarus is just throwing money at me. I'm gonna have to go visit the Police Station soon and upgrade our equipment. Upon reaching floor four, Mitsuru chimes in to explain that the obvious boss is on the floor above us, and we shouldn't try our luck if we don't think we're ready. As I'm currently level 4, I decide that more grinding is in order.

After trawling through the fourth floor, we finally get another level up for ourselves, taking us to the lofty heights of level 5. We celebrate this victory by getting two crits in a row, allowing Junpei to get the finishing blow. Unfortunately, this fatigues him somewhat, so we call it a day for the time being. Well, right after one last battle. It was guarding a chest, okay? Of course, there's another Shadow blocking our access point, so we're forced into one last battle before getting out of Tartarus. Of course, the final battle fatigues us as well, so it's high time to call it a day. Or night. Or whatever. Before we depart, though, we're at a high enough level to make Nekomata, so let's go do that! One swanky fusion sequence later we get Nekomata, who gains enough Social Link EXP to level up and learn Provoke. Woo! But I think that's enough for the time being, so let's head back to the dorm.

The next morning we hear two schoolgirls chatting about a bookstore opening up in the mall. Might be a nice place to check out, and probably good for some learning and stuff. We shall have to check that out after we go to the police station. As it seems nobody desperately needs to talk to us today, we'll head on over after school. It's been sometime since I last saw the school map, what with social links and all. Apparently this strip mall is kinda close to the train station, so let's see if we can find it. After catching Kenji totally not in the process of stealing a bike, honest, we find Bookworms Used Books. I guess this is the place. We're greeted by an old couple who may or may not be out of their minds. Apparently the old man knows something about the strange tree planted in the school courtyard. Huh. However, they aren't divulging any secrets just yet, so I guess we'll have to come back to them later. For now, we have some equipment to buy!

One trip to the Police Station later, we still have 10,000 yen kicking about. Tartarus is very generous with its treasure chests, I must say. While we're about, let's check out Game Panic, which seems to have Pyro Jack (or Jack Frost, not sure) as its mascot. Interesting... We decide to play the Quiz Game for the rest of the night, giving us another boost to Academics. Hooray for being smarter and stuff. Anyway, I think it's about time to call it an update, so see you all next time on the Persona 3 FES blind run!

Jack Frost. Mascot for Atlus. A persona you are likely to find. I find him useful for the first full moon boss. Hee-hoo!

But the bookstore is most certianly a place to be hanging out as the Social Link is one of my Personal favorites.
