Lunar Impact Crater

Hi guys. We'll be exploring some areas around the Red Moon. First we want to check out the Lunar Tunnels, the path that we had to take to get to the Crystal Palace in FFIV. The east tunnel is empty, but the west tunnel has a Blood Sword. Not that we'll ever use it, because it's not very good, but it's there.

Next is the Hummingway Abode, to the south. There is a shop here, as well as hints on where to go next. There's the Lair of the Father and an Impact Crater. Well, Lair of the Father is a bit harder, so let's go to the Impact Crater first.

Golbez learns Osmose on the way. The Impact Crater here looks as bad as the other one we've seen.

Golbez: Look at this!

Fusoya: There must have been a meteor strike here. !?

Golbez: It is eating away at the land itself! Like a parasite!

Fusoya: This is no mere meteor.

Golbez: What do you mean?

Fusoya: I can't say anything else beyond that for now. Even I am at a loss.

We follow the path to the Upper Wall. This place works similarly to the other Impact Crater; lots of jumping. The path is quite linear until the Middle Wall, where we start finding lots of treasure. The area's a bit mazey too. We find a Mythril Sword, but the Mythril Hammer is still superior.

We finally make it to the Lower Wall. A few more chests here, nothing important. There's a Save Point before the next area, the Floor.

...The Mysterious Girl is here. What the hell?

Fusoya: And who might you be...?

Mysterious Girl: Where are the Crystals?

Fusoya: Why do you want to know?

Mysterious Girl: There should be eight more Crystals on this moon.

Fusoya: Eight more? What are you talking about?

Mysterious Girl: ...

Fusoya: No reply? Than don't expect one from us, either.

Mysterious Girl: It makes no difference.

Golbez: What?

Mysterious Girl: I will have all the time I need to search for them... once I obliterate the both of you.

Is it really that hard to find the giant moon palace?

She attacks us, and starts by summoning Asura.

Fusoya: Asura!

Golbez: Why? Why are you summoning the Eidolons!?

We can't touch Asura. We can, however, hit the Mysterious Girl, so why not? Bio, Slow and Haste are our go to spells for this fight. It takes a while, but eventually she falls.

...Wait, what?

Fusoya: We have slain her...

Golbez: ...Yes. She was stronger than her appearance would lead one to believe.

Fusoya: Why would a girl like that be wielding Eidolons?

Golbez: I don't know, but I suspect it bodes ill for us...

Fusoya: Yes... Bahamut resides in a cave north of here. I think it'd be best if we checked up on him.

Golbez: Right.'

Before we continue, we heal up at the Save Point. We head west from the Floor to find another half to the Lower Wall. More treasure for the taking here. There's nothing of note until the path takes us through the Middle Wall to the Upper Wall. Golbez learns Drain on the way to the one chest of note, a Diamond Armlet. After that we make our way out.

So, the main villain is dead. Before she attacked Baron. Huh? Next time, maybe we'll learn something? I have no idea.

Strange how she already has Asura, when it was previously implied that she captured the Feymarch Eidolons immediately after seizing Baron...

Then again, that was only an implication.

Well, if you know the truth about the Mysterious Girl, you realize how she accomplished that. ;)
