Passage of the Eidolons

Well, the way out of the Feymarch that takes us straight back to the world map has suspiciously disappeared since FFIV, so I guess we have to go through the Passage of the Eidolons. Let's get going.

Rydia: I need to tell everyone about this as quickly as I can!

Luckily for us, the damage tiles in this dungeon no longer have any effect. There are also no random battles yet, so we can clear out this floors treasures in peace.

Once we start to approach the stairs up, though, we get attacked.

Rydia: Monsters!

She tries to use Summon... and nothing happens.

Rydia: No... They aren't even answering me.

Well, what'd you expect? We kill the monsters through other methods. Mainly by spamming the Ice Rod we have.

Rydia: Hang on, my dear Eidolons. I promise that I'll save every one of you!

Now we start getting into random battles. Even on a Waxing Moon, when Black Magic is weakened, Rydia's spells still do a ton of damage, so we're not in too much trouble.

We make our way up to B1. In a hidden passage, we find a Feathered Cap, which is already a good improvement over her starting Leather Cap.

It's also at this point a realise the Ice Rod is useless and stick the Whip back on Rydia. We then make our way out.

Rydia: Luca!? The Falcon's gone, too. Where did they go?

Then we get attacked by more monsters.

Rydia: I can't do anything...

Wait, what? We've proven, in the dungeon you just came out of, that you're doing huge amounts of damage, on a moon phase that's disadvantageous to you, at level 15. Just set the damn thing on fire!

Sigh... (That'd be facepalm No. 3)

Cannon fire from above!

Lots of explosions, the enemy dies. Well, that's one way to take care of things.

Rydia: Luca!

There's the Falcon. It lands next to Rydia.

Luca: Haha! Looks like you could use a favor right about now, Rydia!

Music: Hey, Cid!

Rydia: Where did you come from!?

Luca: I was so bored that I went to make a few engine improvements. I'm testing them out now! Master Cid's going to give me a full engineer's license once he sets his eyes on this!

Um, if Cid's the one handing out licenses, you'll probably end up blowing yourself up trying to get one.

Rydia: That's great, Luca... but what about the Crystal in the Dwarven Castle? Is it safe?

Luca: The Crystal? What's that about all of a sudden?

Rydia: We have trouble, Luca...

And they Rydia explains everything.

Luca: I knew something was up.

Rydia: Oh? What do you mean?

Luca: I said that I was out on a test flight... but that's not the only reason I'm here. Something's definitely up. You can tell from how the number of monsters suddenly multiplied out of nowhere. So, I thought it'd be a good idea for me to take the Falcon out on a patrol.

Rydia: I'm impressed your father allowed you to do that.

Luca: He doesn't really know about it, haha! Getting him to let me be an engineer's apprentice was painful enough.

Rydia: That sounds more like the King Giott I know, I'll say that much.

And then, we hear an airship attack at the Dwarven Castle. Ah, crap, we shouldn't have spent all that time explaining.

Luca: Oh no!

Rydia: Was that... the Red Wings!?

Luca: Hurry! Get on, Rydia!

And off we go. When we get there, the airship attacking the place is long gone. Castle looks fine, though.

Music: The Land of Dwarves

Well, anyway, we've got a new party member:

Luca

Class: Shop Hand

Welp, the princess of the underworld, and the only dwarf in the game without a beard, Luca is our main attacker for this tale. She's got Analyze (bleh) and Big Throw, which is basically a physical attack that ignores formation. It also makes her essentially immune to the moon phases, as if Attack is down, she can just use Big Throw. As to be expected of Cid's apprentice, she uses Axes and Hammers.

Well, that's all for now. Next time, we'll see if the castle is okay.

Stats:

Luca: Lv 10 HP:400 MP:25 Strength:15 Speed:8 Stamina:16 Intellect:4 Spirit:4 Attack:25 (2x82% Accuracy) Defence:17 (1x0% Evasion) Magic Defence:1 (0x1% Evasion)

I kinda felt for Rydia, not getting to see her Eidolons anymore.
