Palom's Challenge Dungeon

Hi guys, it's time for another Challenge Dungeon. First thing though, we'll need to be at a good level. 30 is once again a good target, especially as that's when Palom learns Bio. We grind within the dungeon itself, but I'll spare you the details until we do a proper run. While grinding, Leonora learns Shell and Palom learns Drain.

With Palom at level 30 and Leonora at level 27 because I don't care that much about her level, we stock up on Hi-Potions and head in.

Now here's the Challenge Dungeon gimmick: The floors we go to are randomly selected. We go through a couple and then we get to the boss. There's 11 different floors aside from the entrance and the boss in total.

We first encounter the Mountain Floor. Here we find a ton of Gil and a Mystic Veil, which is a nice headgear upgrade for Leonora. We can also rarely find the Gil Bird here. They're annoying and hard to kill. And they run. Win and you get a lot of Gil.

Next up is the Perplexion Floor. It's a maze, with nothing special in it.

Next floor is the Town Floor. Lots of consumables here. Also a well that heals our HP and MP.

Then we reach the Last Floor. This is where the boss is. This is also where the only Save Point of the dungeon is.

We engage the boss, the Blade Dragon. The Blade Dragon is a Barrier Change Boss. We can only use the elemental spells on it, or it'll get nasty. In particular it'll inflict Sap a lot. It'll cast spells from the two main elements it's not vulnerable to. We also inflict Slow on it, despite the fact it triggers a counter, because this guy is fast and Leonora struggles to keep up with healing.

After a while the main threat of this battle is Leonora's MP, because if we run out of healing, we're done for. It's a long battle, but we eventually beat it.

Our first prize is... an Elixir. Damn it, why can't I just get the good equipment? Well, anyway, aside from the main 3 and the Elixir, prizes include a Wizard's Rod, a Protect Staff, a Black and a Red Robe, a Single Star and a Talisman.

As for the other floors? There's the Convoy Floor, which takes place on a bunch of ships, the Magic Floor which is self explanatory and holds a Mythril Staff and a Soma Drop, the Strength Floor which is also pretty self explanatory and has a Killer Bow, the Flan Floor, which is even more self explanatory and has Blinding Arrows, the Strongarm Floor, which has very strong enemies and a Silver Apple, the Bridge floor, which isn't that interesting, the Maze Floor, which isn't interesting either, and the Restorative Floor, which allows us to escape the dungeon without needing 10 MP to Teleport out.

Anyway, this will require some time to finish, and then I'll have to grind some Gil for something else we can show off. I'll see you then.
