Chapter 25: I thought this was Blazing Sword, not Mystery of the Emblem! (Crazed Beast)

Chapter 25:

The task that the Queen wanted for us to do was to retrieve the Fire Emblem. We got some information that it could be found in a certain marshy region in Bern. Imagine our (not) surprise when we found ourselves surrounded by Black Fang when we reached the site. Our objective this time is to seize not one but three positions.

As we got ready to set out, Florina mentioned that it would have been nice if Farina was also here, but Fiora told her to focus on the fight.

Hector: Hector traveled along the northern path due to it being a land route. When Kent got caught up with some Pegasus Knights, I sent Hector to go lead the charge for the northern fort. His defense allowed him to make it through many fights against Cavaliers without a scratch. It's too bad he can't any stronger right now.

Serra: Serra supported the soldiers going on the Northern path with her Psychic staff.

Kent: The path to the Northwest fort was the easiest to traverse by land, so Kent was chosen to go that route. He had to delay his travels because of a couple Pegasus Knights that were hanging out in the area. When that was done, he and Hector took on the hardest job of battling through the cavaliers that guarded the northeast fort. He got a lot of experience from this battle, and was ultimately the one who captured the northeast fort.

Lucius: Lucius hitched a ride on Fiora's Pegasus. On the other side of the lake, he found himself talking to a long haired swordswoman who was looking for his brother. Unfortunately, he wasn't able to help her out. Things got complicated on his way out, as there were 4 or more monks waiting for him to leave. Lucius is able to handle magical attacks with no problem, but they did hold him up. The good news was that the experience was enough for him to be ready to become a Bishop. When he had a moment to spare, Lucius put on the Guiding Ring that I had given him to hold earlier. A flash of light sparked from his hand, and when it faded, he found that it held a staff. Lucius took this as a sign that he should start to learn the healing arts to protect everyone in the group. I approve of this notion, as Serra is being worked to the bone these days.

Dart: Dart was chosen to go for the Southwest fort thanks to him being able to cross rivers quickly. He helped Hawkeye out along the way and was the one who actually took the fort.

Fiora: Fiora took Lucius upon the back of her steed, and together they flew to the North West fort. She unloaded her companion and proceeded to take out the Bishop that was guarding the eastern fort. She then waited for the Ballistae that were to the north of the lake to waste their arrows on the troops that were going for the northeastern gate. It'd take them awhile to get there, and there was no rush to capture this fort, so I didn't want to risk her getting shot. After Lucius took the liberty of capturing the fort for her, she used that as an opportunity to crack the Elysian Whip that she had been holding. The sound put her Pegasus into a frenzy, and she began to neigh very loudly. When she finally calmed down, Fiora found that the Pegasus was faster than before. She took this newfound power as a chance to learn the way of the sword.

Hawkeye: Because he was a master at crossing many elements of land, Hawkeye went along with Dart to cross the river to the Southwest fort. With Dart's help, he was able to take out the leader of the southern fort.

Marcus: Marcus baited the ballistae into wasting their arrows on him. He also guarded Serra from harm.

Oswin: Oswin baited the ballistae into wasting their arrows on him. He also guarded Serra from harm.

Legault: Legault mainly made sure Serra didn't get hurt.

Isadora: Her main job was to keep Serra out of trouble. She got attacked by a Pirate with a Halberd, but staying in the woods made it so that she was never in any real danger.

Heath: Heath handled some last minute shopping. He did get hurt, but made it through without permanent damage.

Florina: Florina was supposed to help Heath with the shopping, but it turned out that he had it covered. However, she did manage to have her wish granted of seeing her other sister again.

Farina was a VERY confident Pegasus Knight that was the middle child between her and her sisters Florina and Fiora. She went straight at Hector and offered her services to him. She seemed to be talented, but I was shocked when I realized that she wanted to hire herself out to us for 20,000 gold. For some reason, I was actually tempted to take up her offer, if only for the sake of Florina and Fiora. Sadly, we had come into the area with BARELY over 20K Gold, and I had spent some of that on supplies at the shops around here. Time was of the essence, and no one in the party was able to go back to make some last minute sales, so we had to decline her offer. Fiora later told me that she wasn't surprised that it turned out this way, and Florina was pretty sad about the whole thing. Oh well, at least we know that their sister is safe.

Oddly enough, the leading Paladin was not interested in keeping his fort safe. Instead, he rode out with his men and met the troops head on. This audacious strategy proved to be his undoing, as Kent and Hector were easily able to take him down together.

We managed to escape their trap, so our troops quickly said goodbye to Farina and left the area. Lucius and Fiora were excited to start practicing with their new skills that they've decided to study, and I can only hope that it serves us well in the future.

So if you don't hire Farina, does she keep fighting or just stay wherever Hector is?

She actually exited the map iirc. Basically what happened was that I had Hector talking to her, forgetting that I had spent over the 20K Gold amount when I was shopping on this very map. Im not sure what happens if I have Hector ignore her though.
