Let's recap: A tsunami had hit Japan in March, killing thousands. The Anime of Madoka Magica was delayed for some time due to the battle with Walpurgisnacht hitting too close to home with the tsunami. Because of it, the Manga, which was two chapters behind the Anime, was also delayed. However, while the Anime was delayed for three weeks, the Manga was delayed for three months. But now we're caught up. We've seen girls get their heads chomped off. We've seen girls fall into despair. We've seen girls try to save their friends, only to fail. We've seen innocent girls turn into apocalyptic monsters. Best of all, we've seen it happen over and over and over. It's time to fire off the final arc.
So as it turns out, it wasn't some randomly placed chapter, as it seems that Homura was telling Kyubey (who is now back to being read in Void's voice) all about what had happened. The reason why is anyone's guess. Plus anyone getting Kanzaki vibes? Kyubey tells her that her constant time travels are what cause Madoka to be powerful. This causes much shock to Homura.
Now, let's see Sayaka's funer- Wait what? We focus on Madoka instead? What about Sayaka? The reason for that funeral was that they found the body. So... In the manga... they Never Found the Body? Well that's stupid. More stupid than "Oh, it will take a while before someone notices Mami's missing." Unlike Mami, Sayaka had parents, friends, people who care for her. You can't just say "they never found her body". Especially when said body is in a hotel room. It's inevitable someone would find her corpse. But NO! Let's not have someone find Sayaka's body, being scarred, and then having her funeral. The only reason why this happened was because the funeral itself was pretty short, as if to say, "Yep, she's dead, Jim." From what I saw, no one was crying, or even hiding their tears. Hell, it was just a shot of the parlor, a shot of Sayaka's photo, a shot of whose there, and done. I can see that when compressing the Anime into Manga form would one skip the scene.
Alright, sorry about the rant. Kyubey explains why he's justified by comparing himself to a farmer. Damn it Kyubey, why do you present a good point each time you show your assholiness? Oh, Kyubey mind rapes Madoka into seeing his kind's interactions with humanity. Okay, Kyubey, are you trying to dig your own grave here? Not only are you setting up the pieces to your inevitable downfall, but you're making yourself unlikable by various people. And yet you raise a good point in that you wouldn't try using girls as Puella Magi if they feel like shit about them dying. What is it about you that makes me hate you, yet likes your reasoning? Moving on.
Madoka pops by Homura's house and sees that her room is filled with nothing but pictures of her in the shower. No wait, that's what the fan artists would have done. Madoka tells Homura that she is the only Puella Magi left. I call bullshit. What about Oriko or Kirika? Or hell, even Yuma? Sure, her being a Puella Magi is a one in a million chance, but come on? You're telling me that somehow, she's the only one remaining? Okay, sure, in Mitakihara City, but that doesn't excuse her to not try and recruit other Puella Magi. Anyways, Homura's like "chillax, I got this" and Madoka's like "No you don't" And Homura's like "Weh!" Then she explains to Madoka that she came from the future... Well... that's sort of true, but you're from another timeline...
Homura: I must be creeping you out, right?
No shit, Sherlock. She finally admits that she's gone off the deep end. That alone convinces me that she's at least a level above Kyubey.
Now the final battle begins. Walpurgisnacht vs. Homura. Homura whips out some big guns that she stole off the JS(S)DF and ZA WARUDO! She then uses a truck to take out Walpurgisnacht. Much like how Dio tried to take down Jotaro with a truck during their final battle. Anyone else thinking that Walpurgisnacht will use The World in the end? Clock over for Homura as the truck explodes. Then she gets pwned by... Wait, Sayaka? And Kyouko? And the two hold her down while Mami shoots her? HOLY SHIT! Walpurgisnacht is the Witch version of Kamen Rider Diend! This is epic! Sorry Octavia, you're replaced as the most epic Witch ever.
Kyubey and Madoka wonder if Homura will win, and Kyubey does a smug grin. All the more reason why I want to see the look on his face when Nanoha decides to blast through the labyrinth. Kyubey even believes that Homura will just Rage Quit like usual and... That shot at the bottom of page 29... is that a reference to the opening? Anyways, Madoka runs off, but Kaed- I mean Junko catches her and finally asks her what is going on. Madoka explains calmly that she has to help Homura and SHIT, SHE SLAPS HER! Junko just slapped her own daughter! She's lost it! She knows she can kill! The truth- Oh wait, Madoka calms her down and explains that she is a Friend to All Living Things. Oh, and Junko asks if Madoka's been conned into it. Yeah, nobody's conning her. There's certainly no cat-like alien that's forcing her to contract with it.
Homura's ass is getting handed to and as Kamen Rider Accel once said... "Despair awaits you in the end..." But wait! Madoka comes to save the day! Tune in next time to see Madoka go on the only path she knows... The path to Godhood!
