Mr. Psychic: Tm29 is Psychic! It can lower the target's Special status sometimes. It's the ultimate move of the ultimate type.
Yellow: (This could help quite a bit, but it's not enough... There has to be something I can do...)
{Yellow roots through his pack, then pulls out the Silph Scope.}
Yellow: ...Right... I still have Pokemon Tower to deal with... Pikachu, you were pretty freaked out last time we went there. I'll have to rearrange my team anyway, so... if you want to sit this one out that's fine.
Pikachu: ...{Shakes head} No. I'm staying with you. You'll need my power anyway.
Yellow: ...Alright. I was hoping you'd say that.

Super Nerd: Ow! Meltdown! I am better at school than this!
Gambler: All right! Let's roll the dice!
{The gambler uses Lv 22 Poliwag, Poliwag, and Poliwhirl. Wartortle grows a level from the fight, as does Pikachu, and Gyarados.}
Gambler: Drat! Came up short! Lady luck's not with me today!
{Yellow comes across several trainers lied up.}
Lass: We must look pretty silly standing here like this!
{The lass uses Lv 19 Pidgey, Rattata, Nidoran f, Meowth, and Nidoran m. Vulpix handles them all.}
Vulpix: Don't underestimate me.
Lass: Look what you did! ...Saffron's Gatekeeper won't let us through. He's so mean!
Yellow: (I wonder why it was really closed.)
Lass: Meowth s so cute, meow, meow, meow!
{As expected, this one uses a three Level 24 Meowth. Vulpix grows to level 26 from the fight.}
Lass: Meow! I think Pidgey and Rattata are cute too!
Super Nerd: School is fun, but so are pokemon.
{He uses a single Lv 26 Koffing. Charmeleon grows to level 27 from the fight.}
Super Nerd: I'll stay with school. We're stuck here because of the gates at Saffron.
Lass: I like Nidoran, so I collect them.
{She uses a level 23 Nidoran f and Nidorina.}
Lass: Why? Why?? When Pokemon grow up they get ugly! They shouldn't evolve!
Wartortle: Hey...
Pikachu: I'm more worried about other things that come with evolution, personally.
{Yellow continues along the route.}
Super Nerd: You need strategy to win at this!
{He uses Lv. 22 Grimer, Muk, and Grimer.}
Super Nerd: It's not logical! Go with Grimer first... and... ...and... then...
{While he realizes that he doesn't have much strategy in his team makeup, Yellow goes on.}
Gambler: I'm a rambling, gambling dude!
{He uses Lv 24 Growlithe and Vulpix.}
Gambler: Missed the big score! Gambling and Pokemon re like eating peanuts! Just can't stop!

Yellow: This is where the ghosts started appearing last time. Stay alert!
Pikachu: chaaa.... We... need to hurry...!
{A ghost attacks, but with the Silph Scope, Yellow can see it's true form: a Gastly. Vulpix is able to defeat it with her Ember attacks, but the ghost's Night Shade attacks are powerful and Vulpix is greatly weakened.}
Vulpix: These spirits are formidable enemies... I can affect them with my fire, but they can hurt me more when they think to.
Yellow: Kadabra, you take the lead for now.
Kadabra: An excellent choice. These noxious cloud creatures are no match for my powers.
Channeler?: Urrg...Awaa...Huhu...graa...
Yellow: What the... Kadabra, stand by!
===Battle Start: Versus Unidentified Corrupted Channeler===
{A level 23 Gastly emerges from the woman, ready for battle.}
Yellow: Kadabra, Confusion attack!
{Round 1: Gastly is very vulnerable to psychic attack, but holds on to strike with Night Shade. Hp 38/61 vs 1%}
Kadabra: Carefully, Yellow. There is no defense against that technique.
Yellow: One more time.
{Round 2: Gastly is dispersed by another attack. The Channeler is released from its control}
Channeler: Hwa! I'm saved!

Channeler: The ghosts can be identified by the Silph scope.
Yellow: It's funny though. I'm the one wearing it, so why can my Pokemon see them too?
Channeller: Now that you can see them, it's less fun to them to merely scare you away. They now know not to appear before you unless they want a real battle, and they must drop their disguise completely to attack.
{Yellow finds an escape rope lying in a corner. Afterwards, more Gastly attack.}
Kadabra: Ah, I see now. If I focus my powers like so, it will be more effective.
{Kadabra grows to level 27 and learns Psybeam.}
Channeler?: Kekeke.. Kwaaah!
{A Level 24 Gastly possessing another Channeler attacks. Wartortle fights it off with Water Gun, despite being hit with it's Confuse rays. Wartortle grows to level 27}
Wartortle: Heh... I'm not ready to lose yet.
Channeler: Hmm? What am I doing?
Yellow: Are you alright now?
Channeler: sorry! I was possessed!
Channeler?: Be gone! Evil spirit!
{This channeler has a bit more success at regaining control and expels a level 22 Gastly. Vulpix takes it on and wins with some item support, despite being paralyzed by its Lick attack.}
Channeler: Whew! The spirit left!
Vulpix: a-ah... I...
Yellow: Vulpix, return. I know, it hurts, but I can keep you out of battle until you're healed.
Channeler: My friends were possessed too!
Yellow: I'll help them if I can.
- 4th floor
???/Channeler: Be cursed with me! Kwaaah!
{This one is possessed by two level 23 Gastly. Kadabra makes short work of them.}
Channeler: What! We can't crack the identity of the Ghosts.
{Yellow finds an Elixer, Awakening, and Hp up lying on the floor.}
Channeler/Gastly: Huhuhu... Beat me not!
{The level 22 Gastly is easily exorcized by Kadabra's Psybeam attack. Kadabra grows a level.}
Channeler: Huh? Who? What?
Yellow: You'll be alright now. I'll handle things from here.
Channeler: Very well. And may the departed souls of Pokemon rest in peace...
Yellow: Pikachu, you're up front now, since your thunderbolt is the most powerful attack we have by raw power.
Pikachu: I...I und-d-derstand!
Channeler: Ghost! No! Kwaaah!
{Pikachu strikes down a level 24 Gastly}
Channeler: Where is the ghost? I must have been dreaming...
- Fifth floor
{The ghosts here are considerably more powerful. Charmeleon takes the lead from a weakened Pikachu}
Channeler/Gastly: You... shall... join... us...
{This is only a level 22 Gastly, but Gyarados is forced to step in to defeat it with Dragon Rage.}
Channeler: What a nightmare! I was possessed!
{As Yellow steps towards a shining pattern in the center of the floor, a Cubone appears from nowhere in front of him.}
Yellow: Cubone? Are you alright? I'm not an enemy...
Charmeleon: Don't be so sure of that!
Pikachu: This isn't a survivor, it's another ghost!
{Charmeleon fends the creature off with his ember attacks. The Cubone gives a mournful cry and fades away...}
Yellow: Charmeleon! ...I'm sorry...
Pikachu: The ability to hold on to one's identity and keep fighting, even as a ghost... I wonder if this is the Cubone line's true power...
Channeler: Come, child! I sealed this space with white magic! You can rest here!
{Stepping onto the pattern fully heals all of Yellow's team.}
Pikachu: ...I don't trust this sanctuary.
Vulpix: You're just worried because we don't have to leave anymore.
Pikachu: Why are you so unaffected by all this? This building is imbued with powerful negativity, I can barely breathe in it!
Vulpix: Vengeance is a natural desire. All it does is give a reason to the conflicts that would happen anyway. Why should it bother me?
Pikachu: Because it is aimed at us, and for no reason! It is unreasonable to overreact against the whole world like this!
Vulpix: Hm. That's still no reason to cower.
Pikachu: ...You haven't gained your 1000 year lifespan yet. Don't take things for granted.
{Moving on,}
Channeler?: Zombies!
{The Channeler unleashes a level 24 Gastly. Vulpix is lucky enough to win and grow to level 27.}
Channeler: Ha? I regained my senses!
Yellow: (Her possession must have been more subtle.)
{Yellow finds a Nugget.}
Channeler?: Urgah... Urff....
{This time, Pikachu takes on a level 22 Haunter.}
Channeler: Whoo! I fell to evil spirits despite my training!
Channeler/Haunter: Give... me... your... soul...
Yellow: yipe!
Pikachu: Never! You'll never take him!
{This Haunter is level 23. Pikachu blows it away with two critical hit Thunderbolts and grows to level 28.}
Channeler: Gasp! I was under possession!
{It's slow going from here on out. Yellow is constantly ducking back to the sealed space.}

Channeler/???: Give...me... blood...
{This Channeler is inhabited by three level 22 Gastly. Charmeleon grows to level 28 during the fight.}
Channeler: Groan! I feel anemic and weak...
{Yellow finds an X accuracy}
Channeler?: Ke.. ke.. ke... ke.. ke.. ke!!
{Wartortle takes on a level 24 Gastly. At this point. the "trained" ghosts are weaker than the "wild" ones.}
Channeler: Keee! What's going on here?
{Fighting wild Gastly lifts Vulpix up to level 28.}
Vulpix: Hmm. I'm tired of being hit with these Confuse rays. But being the one firing them might make things interesting.
{Vulpix learned Confuse Ray over Roar}
Channeler?: Urff...Kwaah!
{Level 24 Gastly is washed away by Wartortle and Gyrados' water guns.}
Channeler: Something fell out!
Yellow: It looked kind of like hair...
Channeler: No, it was an evil spirit!
{Yellow finds a rare candy, and Gyarados grows a level from fighting wild Gastly. Finally, he reaches the next staircase...}

Yellow: There's no point staying hidden behind that illusion. I can see through it with this. And even if I couldn't I already know who you are... Marowak.
{Marowak's cloak fades away, revealing her true form.} (Lv 30)
Yellow: Marowak, I didn't come here to fight you! ...But it looks like I don't have a choice. Wartortle.
Wartortle: Yeah, I got this. Sorry pretty momma, but you're going to have to rest in peace now... (Lv 27)
Marowak: Fool, I gave you your warning. Now, feel my rage!
{Round 1: Wartortle strikes first with Water Gun, and ignores Marowak's leer. Hp 74/74 vs 60%}
Marowak: Drink of anguish!
Wartortle: You drink this!
{Round 2: Wartortle maintains good aim with his water spraying, but Marowak charges through it with a Headbutt. Hp 55/74 vs 20%}
Yellow: ...We have to do this... One last time!
{Round 3: Marowak lands a critical finishing blow.}
Marowak: What? I .... I... my children... wait for me...
Wartortle: Tch. Can't really feel good about this one...

Pikachu: ...Maybe it wasn't her who triggered this surge of negativity, maybe it was the Gastly who corrupted her as well... or maybe they were taking advantage of something else... Such a puzzle...
Yellow: ...It's not over yet. We still need to find Mr. Fuji and the Rocket creeps who started this mess! Stand by, Kadabra.

Yellow: What? You?
Red Haired Woman: Grampa here wanted to complain, so we're setting him straight.
Blue Haired Man: So render yourself invisible, or prepare to fight!
Yellow: ...How can you be here? This started before I fought you at Team Rocket HQ! ...On second thought, It doesn't matter. I am going to tear the whole Team Rocket organization apart!

Yellow: Mr. Fuji!
Old Man Fuji: Eh? You came to save me?
Yellow: You could say that. I heard you'd gone up here, but I didn't trust your odds against Team Rocket.
Mr. Fuji: Thank you. But I came here of my own free will. I came to calm the soul of Cubone's mother. I think Marowak's spirit has gone to the afterlife.
Yellow: (Was fighting... really the way?)
Kadabra: (It was the only way.)
Mr. Fuji: I must thank you for your kind concern! Follow me to my home, Pokemon House at the foot of this tower!
{In what feels like an instant, Yellow is entering the orphanage.}
Mr. Fuji: Yellow. Your quest may fail without love for your Pokemon. You must not lose that part of your feelings. I think this may help your quest.
