Bring the popcorn and watch me fumble! It's the Persona 3 FES playthrough!
I look forward to this. And because I'm totally unoriginal, I'm going to suggest Minato Arisato (That's in the order of given name/surname) for the protagonist's name. Minako if you for some reason want to give the guy a female name.

Minato Arisato, huh? Well, if nobody has any other names that are utterly outlandish and amusing enough to sway me, we'll be going with that. And charm, courage and academics shall be my main focus.
Phoenixor
Might I suggest you romance Yukari if only because either her or Fuuka seems to fit the protagonist better.
Chariot
Also name him Nao Shirogane if only because he looks like he could be related to Naoto.
Chariot
Risetteer
I'll put my vote behind Nao Shirogane, because I like it.
ReDead
I flipped a coin for the name and it came out tails, so Nao it is. Now I just need to wait for the game to arrive.
Phoenixor
Since Shirogane doesn't fit, can the last name be Bearstrangler- Oh wait that doesn't fit either, damn.

So Nao Bearoga, then? I can work with that. THE SHADOWS SHALL FEAR MY GRIZZLY MIGHT AS I CRUSH THEM WITH MY BEAR HANDS.
Phoenixor
No bare hands but in here you can switch the weapon of the Protagonist. Knifes being the only one barred. Closest thing to bare hands in boxing gloves.
phoenixdaughterAM
^ Guns are also barred, despite the two other characters who use them (in admittedly considerably different forms).
Sabbo
ReDead
Yeah... I'm gonna have to vote again for Minato Arisato. Things are going to get really confusing for us who used that name, and it at least has some degree of officialness to it.
Sabbo
Bah, you kids are no fun. Minato it is. Just got the game as well, so expect the next part shortly!
Phoenixor
Wow! Great post. ;)

Actually, the original opening didn't seem that spoilerific at all unless you already know the game's plot.
Barrylocke
-giggles- The teachers are very much eccentric here. And yep, that is a French man there. -stays quiet on the rest about them-
phoenixdaughterAM
-laughs- Big nosed and eerie looking is Igor. -smiles-
phoenixdaughterAM
Speed reading a play-through is fun!
Merhabi
-laughs- Loving the humor. And the Igor-dislike.
phoenixdaughterAM
Well, it's not just Orpheus who was kicking ass in the cutscene. You'll get the chance to see that awesome guy again, later.
hnd03
Remember to fuse Orpheus into something else. But not Apsarus. As you'll be able to get her easy in shuffle time

Nobody calls Ikutsuki "Shuji". If you're having trouble spelling the more common name, try to think of it in two parts: "ikut" & "ski". Thankfully, the "u" syllable parts in Japanese are often ignorable, to a degree.
Sabbo
No. Romance Yukari and leave the others alone.
Chariot
Oh god i hope you do all.
Merhabi
Yes, yes I am happy. :P
Sabbo
If you want to string installations together (such as you could have done with this one and the previous), then feel free. Or not. Your choice really. So long as you split your paragraphs well, then there'll be no trouble reading it even if it's really, really long.
Sabbo
I figure stringing instalments together works best, since it gives people a chance to take a break and allows me to start a fresh update. The updates will probably be a little more spaced out once I properly escape the tutorial, though.
Phoenixor
Hmm...I usually buy a weapon for the Protagonist with the windfall of cash. The best way to gain money is obviously through your dungeon crawling. So I'd recomend a return as soon as you can get yourself to a "Great" status. Take the restroom but if all else fails, sleep.

You'll no doubt soon find that Kenji is just generally delusional about a number of things. "Smile and nod" seems to be the recommended way to handle a lot of these early S.Links.

Yes, pdam gave me the low-down on what that does. I shall not be listening to a certain cult of blue oysters' advice any time soon.

Chihiro.

Mitsuru!
phoenixdaughterAM
I don't really know how to edit my comment, but I want to change my vote to Mitsuru.
ReDead
Yukari.
Chariot
No party member socal links here. Expect for the girls. That was one of the much better improvements Persona 4 gave and is the probable reason for the Female Protagonist for adding in those Social Links.
phoenixdaughterAM
Oh! But get online sometime during a weekend/holiday! You'll find something...-grins-

Mysterion
Persona 3 - including the bit in The Answer - has two main dungeons, each split into several subsections, and a handful of very small one-time-only dungeons. Most people ignore The Answer and the mini-dungeons.
Sabbo
The social link stuff on Sundays will never lead to a rank up in this game, but they can in Persona 4. Too much stuff in the social links here happens in school for it to work, I think. Kenji is a prime example, as even though the social link itself could theoretically be undertaken outside school (He's meant to just be a friend; him being a classmate is unimportant), the entire social link revolves around the school and people in it.
Sabbo

Currently on hold. Got a lot of busy stuff going on right now, which has rather sapped my free time. Will hopefully get a new update out soon, though.

Thanks for the vote of confidence, there. I feel like I was a little under-leveled for that right, really. I'll likely do some grinding in Tartarus in preparation for the next Full Moon.
Phoenixor
Otherarrow
In case you haven't noticed, for the school Social Links, when they come up to you at lunchtime, that means the next time you hang out with them, you will get a rank up.
Otherarrow
That did click for me today, yeah. I just neglected to mention it in the post since I wasn't entirely sure.

That Toy Bow is useful now, but here's something to keep in mind: Those are the stats for every gag weapon. The last character's bus stop sign halfway through the game? 100/99, just like the Toy Bow.
Sabbo
Oh, but that said, the Toy Bow (as well as any revealing armor you give her) is the kind of stuff she'll swap out her own equipment to get rid of. Yes, that's a thing.
Sabbo
Uh...it will take until Friday until you can go into Tartarus again. Three days for healing up and the other to get her room ready in the dorm. But ah well, a short break for your job well done.
phoenixdaughterAM
Won't remember? This is something about Persona 3's plot that I disagree with. It happened, and Natsuki was conscious for some of it at least, why wouldn't she be able to remember? Even if the Dark Hour is a warped timeframe, I don't see how that would stop her from forming memories of it.
Mysterion
The way I see it, humans aren't good at dealing with this kind of crazy stuff. Without a Persona to help them deal with it and keep them grounded in that level of reality, so to speak, they just sort of blot out the memory to protect their sanity and go off on their merry way.

Hey, I bought this around about half a month or so ago, choosing hard for the first playthrough. It's actually going pretty well so far (Just two days after the Hermit battle.). Of course, I was hilariously lucky within skill mutating and got Fire and then Wind Amp at Level 23 and 38, respectively, or something close. I laughed. Hard. Both times. Anyway, a question: When you zio'd the beetles, did it do the regular amount of damage for striking the weakness, or around about? Because, within hard mode, whereas the weakness is still there (With knockdown and everything.)... it does absolutely
pitiful damage, as if it highly resisted it. Just wondering if that's another way hard mode making the game more dickish, as well as the douuble damage (Which isn't that bad really. At the very least, I have been utterly fine with it for now, even with all the OHK's that physical skills tend to provide.) and the
fucking tripled compendium prices argh argh argh eh, whatever, it's not THAT bad.
If you'd care for any hints for the parts I have completed, then I'll provide anything that doesn't essentially provide a walkthrough. Part of the fun of this game is creating your own path to take down the constant problems it throws you. However, any general hints or advice, ask me.
Oh, and by the way, seeing as you have never mentioned it beforehand, have you been going towards the mall during evenings to level your interaction stats? If not, then well... Fuck. There's definitely the ability to get, and even max, them, especially the earlier non - stat ones (2 and 4 charm for Moon and Devil, respectively, and 4 courage for Star.), but for the ones requiring, maximum within those stats, it's very improbable. Doable, but improbable. Case within point, I have been doing that sporadically through - out the game (Actually, I dedicated a
lot of time after the fourth non - cutscene full moon towards them, after decding that I was probably overleveled at that point: I was getting members joining that were four levels below me, for whatever's sake.) and I only just max'd them around about six days before the next of the moon. So, yes, if you have not been doing that before now, then
start now. It doesn't stop you from studying within your room afterwards: It just skips straight towards the "sleep/study" decision.
Sorry if this sound patronizing if you
have been doing this already. I just would prefer it to be sure.
InWithTheAshes
And holy shit, wall of text. Sorry for that to.
InWithTheAshes
Guess this is dead.

Yes, "not knowing things" is a constant in this game. Even the final scene of The Journey can be considered ambiguous, despite that being the end of the original P3.Important Links
