One Mario Limit does not seem to be an objective trope, and its on-page examples are full of Fan Myopia and natter. What should be done? Although the namespace/usage options are mutually exclusive, the scope items are not.Create a new trope for "fictional character was renamed to avoid association with a more famous fictional character", moving examples to the newer work. Require evidence, either Word of God statements or obvious cause-and-effect associations (eg. "Marvelman" -> "Miracleman"). (not mutually exclusive with either keep option)
If One Mario Limit is kept, limit it to names that see significant use in real life (would exclude names like "Sephiroth" or "Daenerys")
If One Mario Limit is kept, allow medium-specific examples ("no video game character will be named Zelda/Kirby" would be a valid example; it would not need to be "no other fictional characters will be named Zelda/Kirby")
Keep One Mario Limit as "Character is so famous no other character will be named that without a reference to them" but move to Just for Fun (mutually exclusive with YMMV)
If One Mario Limit is kept, limit it to one character per name (would exclude "Fujioka" and "Suzumiya" as valid examples under the name "Haruhi", or "Momomiya" and "Kuroskai" for the name "Ichigo")
Keep One Mario Limit as "Character is so famous no other character will be named that without a reference to them" but move to YMMV (mutually exclusive with JFF)
If One Mario Limit is kept, limit it to fictional characters' names (would exclude names like "Elvis" or "Madonna")
