* AmericansHateTingle: Makoto is well-received in the Japanese fandom. However, not many of the fans from outside of Japan are fond of him, considering his [[GloryHound need]] to become an Ultraman being rather childish.
* AwesomeEgo: The ever flamboyant and eccentric LoonyFan Makoto Aizen/[[spoiler:Cereza]] has this trope written all over him. From his [[LargeHam over-the-top theatrics]], weird [[{{Idiosyncrazy}} fixation]] with his hero Series/UltramanOrb, [[LaughablyEvil clownish antics]], and being a charming, yet insufferable CorruptCorporateExecutive earned him this status.
* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic:
** The opening theme "Hands", by Masayoshi Oishi. It's full of energy and positive to show that R/B is most definitely LighterAndSofter. Just hearing "R/B GO JUMPING! R/B GO FIGHTING! [[ComingOfAgeStory R/B FOR GROWING UP!]]" is enough to pump up any Ultraman fan.
** The ending theme "Yume Hiko", which is sung by none other than Creator/SuzukoMimori and is pure SugarWiki/SweetDreamsFuel.
* EvilIsCool: How can anybody say no to [[spoiler:Ultraman Orb Dark?]] [[labelnote:*]][[AtrociousAlias By tacking "Noir Black Schwarz" on.]][[/labelnote]]
* FanNickname: Ultraman Orb Dark is also called as Ultraman Orb Alter, due to the original Orb's source of power being based on [[VisualNovel/FateStayNight Saber]] whereas this copy can be considered an allusion to [[Anime/FateStayNightHeavensFeel Saber's corrupted form]].
* HarsherInHindsight:
** As if the death of Saki's brothers isn't much of a TearJerker, in ''[[AllThereInTheManual Ultraman R/B Super Complete Works]]'', [[spoiler:[[IdenticalStranger their physical appearance were revealed to be that of]] [[https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rb1300.png Katsumi and Isami in O-50 uniforms]]]] made her animosity towards the Minato brothers more painful to witness. Way to twist the knife further, Creator/TsuburayaProductions.
** Saki interrupting Mio Minato's attempt at banishing Leugocyte isn't the first time where a rather successful plan at eliminating the monster being derailed because of SkewedPriorities. In R/B's prequel novel, Blu derailed his siblings' attempt at materializing Leugocyte due to the monster still terrorizing the Planet Nepta's native. Even worse since they failed at activating Ruebe's fusion, the siblings never really stood a chance against the monster if they succeeded anyway.
** Also in the novel, the siblings Rosso, Blu and Saki were victims of child exploitation, both under their owner Bakubarba and the Interstellar Alliance (a peacekeeping organization that first appears in Ultraman Orb's novel Ultraman Orb Chronicle). The Series/UltramanZ prequel novel ''Ja no Michi wa Hebi'' further explores [[spoiler:the corruption of Interstellar Alliance and their willingness to destroy the data of one of their underage soldiers to cover up an internal conflict amongst its members]], something which Bakubarba originally intend to do for her orphans once they were no longer of her use.
** In ''R/B'' the Movie, Tregear targets Rosso's human host, Katsumi Minato, by trapping him outside of Planet Earth so as to reduce the number of his opponents when his monster Snake Darkness went rampaging on Earth. Tregear's prequel novel from ''Series/UltramanTaiga'' further explores that him targeting Katsumi Minato isn't a pure coincidence; Rosso's primary form, Flame, harnesses the power of his old friend Taro, who he grew to spite after his turn to darkness.
* HeartwarmingInHindsight: The last time Ginnojo Yamazaki [[Series/UchuSentaiKyuranger portrayed]] as a father to TheHero, he [[spoiler:sacrificed his life to save an entire galaxy by allowing himself to be swallowed by a black hole]]. By portraying Ushio Minato, Ginnojo not only gets a second chance of portraying a caring father who observes his children, he also managed to [[spoiler:save his wife from doing the exact same sacrifice his previous character did]].
* SugarWiki/HeartwarmingMoments: Isami is the only person to appreciate his father's weird fashion designing taste.
* InferredHolocaust: Reugosite has been stated to consume planets that deemed as a threat. We can say that Earth is the first to avoid this threat.
** [[spoiler:Ultraman Tregear at best, he has also destroying planets by imploring their inhabitants with granting their wishes. Yukio becoming Snake Darkness and reverted to normal is implied to be the first survivor of this. And don't let us start with how he [[ReforgedIntoAMinion created Reugosite]]...]]
* SugarWiki/HeReallyCanAct: A variant. Since [[Series/UltramanOrb Gai Kurenai]] is not around in this series, Motoki Fukami pulls off an almost perfect impersonation of Hideo Ishiguro's voice when his character Makoto Aizen plays as Gai Kurenai.
* HilariousInHindsight:
** Reugosite is also similar to another famous kaiju. Elongated faces with yellow eyes, glowing orbs on their chest area, tentacles that can choke opponents, fly on angelic wings, {{Eldritch Abomination}}s.. Not too much unlike Iris from the Gamera franchise, huh?
** Cereza planned to use a King Joe as his Attack Team's CombiningMecha to live out his dream of being the protagonist of an Ultraman series. [[Series/UltramanZ Two series later]], an actual Attack Team managed to repurpose a King Joe into their CombiningMecha to defend Earth.
* IKnewIt:
** Prior to the series being announced, quite a few fans predicted that this would be a SpiritualSuccessor to ''Series/UltramanGaia'', given that both ''Series/UltramanTiga'' and ''Series/UltramanDyna'' had gotten successors in the form of ''Series/UltramanOrb'' and ''Series/UltramanGeed'' respectively.
** When Ultrawoman Grigio was unveiled, everybody guessed that her human host is [[spoiler: Asahi Minato]].
** Many Japanese fans believed that [[BenevolentBoss Makoto Aizen]] was to be the BigBad of the series, considering how his flamboyant tendencies appeared to be too suspicious. [[spoiler:They were close, as Aizen turned out to be the DiscOneFinalBoss.]]
* MemeticMutation: See the [[Memes/UltraSeries Franchise page]].
* MoralEventHorizon:
** Makoto Aizen [[spoiler:actually Cereza]] crosses this when he orchestrates the monster attacks in the city and targets the Minato brothers/Ultramen Rosso and Blu out of petty jealousy for being Ultramen, something which he tried to achieve for 15 years.
** Saki Mitsurugi ''nearly'' crossed this by [[spoiler: trying to use Earth as a bomb to destroy Reugosite to [[ItsPersonal avenge]] her brothers' deaths, too stricken with grief to try and find another way. However, she managed to pull herself back from the brink by saving the Minato brothers from their attempted HeroicSacrifice by switching places with them.]]
** The Alien Mefilas from "World Without Tomorrow" seems like a typical comedic alien who just wants good ratings for his declining TV show, even if he's a bit of a jerk to his assistant. But then he devises a plan to blow up the Earth along with his assistant (Who goes along with a plan thinking the bombs fake and no one really is in danger) just to have an exciting set piece to boost his shows ratings.
* ReplacementScrappy: Saki was much worse received as the villain than Aizen, due to her being perceived as less entertaining, and having motives that don't particularly endear her to the audience.
* SuspiciouslySimilarSong: The ending theme Yume Hiko has the first few lines of the song played suspiciously similar in its tone to Gai Kurenai's Orbnica.
