* BrokenBase: The 2015 Creator/TurnerClassicMovies overhaul attracted a lot of mixed responses from people when it came to adding in Robert Osborne's narration to the ride. Some felt that it added some much-needed freshness to the ride, while others felt that it was unnecessary and minimized the importance of the tour guide. It also didn’t help that Osborne brought a noticeably less “enthusiastic” sounding performance compared to the old narrator who would often add appropriate voices to the various scenes. On the bright side, most agreed that the upgrades to the queue and pre-show were for the better.
* HamAndCheese: The hijacker could be this, depending on how good (or not-so good) the person playing him/her was at acting.
* SugarWiki/HeartwarmingMoments:
** The most iconic-ly moving scenes of ''Film/{{Casablanca}}'' and ''Film/SinginInTheRain'' were accurately recreated in this ride.
** The Munchkinland scene managed to quite magical just because of how well it replicated the look and feel of the movie.
** The finale montage of movies at the end was a big case of this, especially if you're a big fan of film.
** The tour guide being applauded by the guests at the conclusion for giving them a successful tour. The tour guide is easily touched by this gesture.
-->'''Tour guide:''' A standing ovation? For me? You shouldn't have!
** When the ride closed on August 13th, 2017, during closing time of the park, all the tour guides came out for one last bow as gratitude to the guests for coming along after 28 years of operation. Even some of the cast members that work at the park applauded this achievement!
* {{Narm}}:
** The ride over time fell victim to this, due to many of the ride's effects and animatronics not working as well as they once did. Additionally, if the person playing the tour guide and/or the hijacker is bad at acting, this can be the result.
** As time went on, younger audiences grew less and less aware of the classic films used in the ride (with the exception of the universally known ''The Wizard of Oz'' or still-active pop culture franchises like ''Alien'' and ''Indiana Jones''), leading to confusion as to why the audience was being asked to clap for certain characters by the tour guide, as well as clapping for the tour guide at the end of the ride, sometimes resulting in SarcasticClapping.
* NightmareFuel: Several scenes fell under this, at least whenever they worked correctly.
** The ''Alien'' scene was a rather obvious instance with the bleak tone of the sequence coupled with the Xenomorph popping out of the ceiling and later the wall.
** In the ''Film/RaidersOfTheLostArk'' sequence, the hijacker touching the cursed jewel and getting ''roasted into a skeleton''. The scene is usually PlayedForLaughs, but still.
** If the Wicked Witch of the West frightens you, you'll be not-so pleased to know that the animatronic of her gets pretty close to the ride vehicle and is probably the most life-like animatronic in the whole ride.
* SpecialEffectsFailure: The ''Film/FootlightParade'' sequence was initially much more elaborate, featuring water effects and the five-tier "cake" spun. However, the effects broke down frequently, causing the ride to flood with water from time to time, which eventually resulted in the sequence being toned down to something simpler and less prone to malfunction.
* TheyChangedItNowItSucks: Of all the changes to the ride in 2015, the new finale montage by far received the most negative reactions from people, with many arguing that it lacked the flow and emotion of the original montage, as well as having rather poor music transitions in comparison to before.
* UnexpectedCharacter: Among the several features added into the attraction following the Creator/TurnerClassicMovies update was a series of digital movie posters in the queue line that would change every few seconds to showcase a different movie poster, one of those being the famous poster for ''Film/{{Jaws}}'', which is ''very'' bizarre given that ''Jaws'' is owned by Creator/{{Universal}}, Disney's #1 theme park rival, that for a while even had a ''Ride/{{Jaws}}'' ride at the nearby [[Ride/UniversalStudios Universal Studios Florida]] park.
* WhatDoYouMeanItsNotForKids: Despite being located in a Disney park and containing scenes for ''Film/MaryPoppins'', ''WesternAnimation/{{Fantasia}}'', and ''Film/TheWizardOfOz'', the ride was often billed as being for the older crowd due to it featuring an ''Film/{{Alien}}'' sequence and other dark material.
