2	* CatharsisFactor: Just for fun, Spider-Man shoots J. Jonah Jameson with the levitation ray at the end of the ride and leaves him floating around in his office, a fitting punishment for how much of a {{jerkass}} he is through the whole ride.
3	* EnsembleDarkhorse: Scream received a notable boost in popularity after this ride opened.
4	* FanNickname: The Japanese version of the ride has earned the nickname ''Spider-San 3D'', after the WritingAroundTrademarks version of the ride that Komi visited in ''Manga/KomiCantCommunicate''.
5	* FandomRivalry: Became an extension of the rivalry between Ride/UniversalStudios and Ride/DisneyThemeParks after the latter debuted their own ''Spider-Man'' ride in 2021, ''W.E.B. Slingers: A Spider-Man Adventure'' in the ''Ride/AvengersCAMPUS'' areas, providing a rare opportunity for fans to compare what the two entities did with the same property.
6	* SugarWiki/HeartwarmingMoments: After Creator/StanLee passed away in 2018, the ride's team members set up a makeshift memorial for him in the queue line, and allowed park guests to make their own contributions to the memorial.

8	** The ride shows a "Spider-Signal" being lit up and flashed across several buildings. In the [[VideoGame/SpiderManTrilogy 2002 movie video game]], Spider-Man says that he should get a Spider-Signal so people don't have to burn things to get his attention.
9	** Right at the end of the ride, Spider-Man gives the riders a thumbs up, but then realizes that he's actually giving a thumbs down due to hanging upside down and quickly corrects himself. The exact same gag would later be done during the festival scene in ''Film/SpiderMan3''.
10	** The main plot involves five of Spider-Man's villains stealing the Art/StatueOfLiberty. The final battle of ''Film/SpiderManNoWayHome'' involves Spider-Man fighting five villains at the Statue of Liberty.
11	* NightmareFuel: Scream is particularly frightening in this ride, sporting a permanent NightmareFace and razor sharp claws. It doesn't help that she gets a bit too close to the riders' faces in one scene.
12	* OnceOriginalNowCommon: The attraction has begun to get this with newcomers to the parks, as it has very clearly influenced later Universal attractions, including ''Ride/HarryPotterAndTheForbiddenJourney'', ''Ride/TransformersTheRide'', ''Ride/HarryPotterAndTheEscapeFromGringotts'', and ''Ride/SkullIslandReignOfKong'', all of which are rides that mix 3-D with physical sets just like this one. As a result, many new guests don't view this ride as the completely revolutionary theme park experience that it was upon first opening.
13	* TheyChangedItNowItSucks: While everything else about the 2012 redo was extremely well-received, the new dubstep-style music that was added into the ride was conversely met with mixed reception at best.
14	* UnintentionalPeriodPiece: The ride's adherence to the design sensibilities of ''WesternAnimation/SpiderManTheAnimatedSeries'' readily dates it to the late '90s, especially after said animated series was canceled. Hell, even after the 2012 refurbishment, it still feels like this, since they largely kept the ''Animated Series'' designs rather than redesign the ride to be closer to either the [[Film/SpiderManTrilogy Sam Raimi]] or [[Film/TheAmazingSpiderManSeries Marc Webb]] styles. In retrospect, however, this might have been the right call, since ''The Amazing Spider-Man'' sub-franchise ended up being short-lived, while the classic designs used by the ride are fairly timeless. The queue line videos using the same cel-based animation as the cartoon still sticks out, however.
15	* SugarWiki/VisualEffectsOfAwesome: The ride already had some amazing visual and tactile effects when it first opened in 1999, but after its 2012 refurbishment, they've become even better than before.
