* AccidentalInnuendo:
** In "Return of the Caveman", when the Rangers are riding on their Dino Cycles, the monster named Slammer tells Tyler and Riley, "I'll whack both of you off!"
** Riley's plan to save the others in "When Logic Fails" earns him a "You beauty!" from Chase. This is Aussie/Kiwi slang meaning something along the lines of "Good job!" or "Nice one!", but the shippers weren't about to let that choice of words pass.
** Snide's line in Episode 16: "Is my [[AllAnimeIsNaughtyTentacles tentacle]] too tight? I save it for SPECIAL occasions!"
* {{Adorkable}}: Kendall hides it behind her ControlFreak professional demeanor, but she can get this way when she gets really invested in a science project or when her [[NoSocialSkills inability to function socially]] starts showing up.
* AlternateCharacterInterpretation:
** Is Heckyl honest when talking to Shelby, Philip and James in ''Rangers Rock''? Or is he just manipulating them into feeling for him because that way they will listen to what is he trying to tell them?
** James’ tendency to come up with reasons for frequently leaving Tyler when there were arguably better options can come off less as DaddyHadAGoodReasonForAbandoningYou and more like a straight up deadbeat dad.
** Riley’s actor claims he interpreted and played the character as gay and having a thing for Chase.
* AntiClimaxBoss: Lord Arcanon laughs off every attack the Ultrazord throws at him without a scratch. [[spoiler: But their ultimate attack just happens to be too much for him.]]
* {{Anvilicious}}: The relentless references to New Zealand, over and over, in practically every episode. Someone on the writing team ''really'' wanted everyone to know that it's a real place. This is due to a film grant Saban Brands received while filming in New Zealand, the catch is that they need to show the country in a very positive light. Hence why one of the Rangers is actually from New Zealand (as opposed to a NZ actor putting on an accent).
* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic: The opening theme, obviously. Given the previous two seasons just remixed the original theme song, ''Dino Charge'' going with a new song with a slight tribal motif was much welcomed by the fans.
* AwesomenessWithdrawal: Unlike ''Megaforce'', which felt like a chore at times, Nick's scheduling on ''Dino Charge'' had '''really''' gotten under the fandom's skin.
* BrokenBase: From ''the second it was announced.'' Wow.
** Fans of ''[[Series/TokumeiSentaiGoBusters Go-Busters]]'' were enraged that it was supposedly being skipped so another Dinosaur season could be done (largely because ''[[Series/TensouSentaiGoseiger Goseiger]]'' wasn't skipped for ''Series/PowerRangersMegaforce'', the MilestoneCelebration of the franchise, while this news came out of nowhere), while people who thought ''Go-Busters'' was just OK or hated it don't really mind.
** A big question of ''why'' ''Go-Busters'' was skipped has lead to many theories. Were the toys too unmarketable? Was the Sentai too hard to adapt? Did Saban see how quite a few fans felt the series was average? Did Toei dislike the show enough to let Saban skip it? All of these could be true, but the big question is why Toei let it happen -- as mentioned above, they refused to let ''Goseiger'' be skipped for the ''anniversary'' season.
*** Some fans surmised from reading the press release that [[ExecutiveMeddling Bandai had a huge influence in convincing]] both Toei and Saban to not mainly adapt ''Go-Busters''. The company knew that its ratings and toyline tanked (much worse than ''Goseiger''), so it didn't take a risk in adapting such an underperforming sentai series. It later got confirmed by Judd Lynn who said Kyoruger's dinosaurs gave it the leg up over ''Go-Busters''.
*** Now a moot point, thanks to the announcement of ''Series/PowerRangersBeastMorphers''.
** In both the marketing trailer and the teaser shown at Power Morphicon, [[FreezeFrameBonus there is a blink and miss shot of]] ''Series/KamenRiderWizard.'' Did Saban make the same editing mistake twice? Or did they renew the license to ''Power Rider'' and use ''Power Rangers'' for another PoorlyDisguisedPilot?
*** The former is most likely explanation for this, since if you pay close attention to the aforementioned shot, you can very briefly see the logo for ''Series/SuperHeroTime'', the program block that ''Wizard'' and ''Kyoryuger'' aired on in Japan, and the footage matches up perfectly with [[https://youtu.be/wi8xKY34xPQ?t=193 the SHT bumper for Wizard and Kyoryuger]], not to mention that ''Wizard'' never showed up during the series at all (and no adaptation aired featuring Wizard either).
** Many fans LOVED the theme song and the opening, but several elements were put into discussion. Mostly, the fact that there is a "Go Go Power Rangers" bit and the "Rangers Forever" thing, which may bring back bad memories from the last two seasons.
** As with the previous Nick seasons there's a hiatus early on that lasts multiple months, however this time it's going to split a story arc leading many to complain about the conditions Nick has in place for the show.
** The finale of Dino Supercharge after it aired internationally. Oh boy. The fans don't know whether to be more peeved at [[spoiler: the lack of Dark Ranger, or the fact that the whole season may either be at best an alternate universe or at worst the end of twenty-two years of established continuity, as the events of the finale undoes the very extinction of the dinosaurs and reveals they now share the planet with the human race in the present]]
*** Arguably, this issue has been put to rest now that ''Ninja Steel'' has revealed that ''Dino Charge'' did, in fact, take place in an alternative universe.
** The fact that [[spoiler: the Rangers accidentally get the Earth destroyed in the finale. Some liked it, showing that even the Rangers make mistakes and uped the ante in the final battle with Sledge in the past since they had more to lose. Others however were angered that this team couldn't save their planet when others have managed before in the most dire of situations, even calling them "The Worst Power Ranger Team Ever".]]
** Keeper's role as mentor. His detractors point out that most of his role is simply handing out morals, and he wasn't able to find a single Energem in 65 million years despite supposedly being their guardian. However, Keeper is still a considerable cut above likes of Gosei and Mentor Ji, guiding the Rangers to become better people with genuinely good advice and jumping into the fight himself to protect them on a number of occasions.
* CompleteMonster: "[[Recap/PowerRangersDinoChargeRecipeForDisaster Recipe for Disaster]]" through "[[Recap/PowerRangersDinoChargeWorgworld Worgworld]]": The vicious [[TheManBehindTheMan Lord Arcanon]] committed genocide upon Heckyl's world to gain the Energems and grant himself complete [[GalacticConqueror universal control]] millions of years ago. Kidnapping soldiers to fight for him, Arcanon engages the Power Rangers and kidnaps Heckyl, brutally torturing him for the Energems. Attempting to [[BadBoss execute any of his minions]] who [[YouHaveFailedMe fail him]], Arcanon fights the Rangers once more, this time having corrupted an entire city into zombie-like beings to use as {{human shield}}s.
* CrackPairing: There's a portion of the show's fans who like to jokingly ship James with Zenowing, since the two are the only rangers left out of the ShipMates stated below.
* CrazyIsCool:
** Tyler. He deflects a monster's energy beams with a ''shovel''!
** Ivan. He forms a group of knights that consist of a crossing guard, an old lady, a street performer, a band geek, and a referee.
** Mr Watkins, established as an ice cream mogul, can singlehandedly throw together a whole fast food meal with anything on hand in the cafeteria kitchen. In a matter of minutes! There's even ''sparklers!''
* CreepyAwesome: Heckyl/[[spoiler:Snide]].
* EnsembleDarkhorse:
** Before his character has even had his debut, Yoshi Sudarso has been very loved by fans because of his fellow geekiness: He watched ''Kyoryuger'', ''bought the toys'', knew Nossan's poses and [[ApprovalOfGod even got approval from Nossan's actor, Yamato Kinjo]]. That's one awesome dude. No surprise then that his character, Koda, is (so far) the most popular on the show. People love his lines and expressions.
** And then he did a cameo for ''Series/ShurikenSentaiNinninger''. This guy ''loves'' being a Ranger.
** Albert Smith. Many wished he stayed, especially since his episode had more male Purple Ranger footage than his counterpart Dr. Ulshade did.
** Heckyl. With a great outfit, amazing charisma, and his [[spoiler:alter ego Snide]], he's far more interesting than any other villain in this season. And fans immediately loved him. [[spoiler:His status as this, along with the missed opportunity involving the Deathryuger/Kyoryu Navy/Dark Ranger suit could be the reason why he was not only brought back but given the promotion to Ranger for the ''Beyond the Grid'' storyline for the [[ComicBook/MightyMorphinPowerRangersBoomStudios comics]] and would finally make his live-action debut for ''Series/PowerRangersCosmicFury''.]]
** Keeper is generally liked by the fandom, primarily due to him being a genuinely competent and wise mentor as opposed to the egotistical {{Jerkass}} [[Series/PowerRangersSamurai Jii]] and [[Series/PowerRangersMegaforce Gosei]] the living AssPull, who came before him.
** Kaylee, Chase's love interest, is an interesting case. While the fandom at large still prefers to ship Chase with Riley, most people still like Kaylee as a character on her own and would have liked to see more of her. Some even hoped the series would follow in ''Kyoryuger'''s footsteps and have her become the successor to the Aqua ranger (a hope which only intensified when [[spoiler: James]] cemented his Scrappy status).
* EpilepticTrees:
** The Dino Gems in ''[[Series/PowerRangersDinoThunder Dino Thunder]]'' are supposed to be parts of the meteorite that caused the extinction of dinosaurs. Then, why would Sledge collect meteorites? Ok, for resources or simply for sake of gathering stuff. But what if he collected the meteorites because he knew the Dino Gems are inside? Without knowing how get them out, obviously.
*** [[spoiler:And following the finale, since the rangers went back in time and flew Sledge's meteorites into the sun, does that mean the Dino Gems were destroyed? Has Dino Thunder been retconned? Or has the entire ''series'' up to this point been retconned?]]
*** The whole issue is now moot given that ''Ninja Steel'' established that ''Dino Charge'' takes place in an alternate universe.
** Kendall shares her surname, Morgan, with ''[[Series/PowerRangersLostGalaxy Lost Galaxy]]''[='s=] Kendrix, another brainy blonde scientist. Many fans guess this was intentional, with Kendall being related to Kendrix in some capacity (usually her daughter, younger sister, niece, or cousin). As noted on the Trivia page, Judd Lynn has stated that Kendall's last name is coincidental, but that hasn't stopped some from buying into the idea out of a fondness for greater continuity between seasons.
* EvilIsCool: Heckyl. He's charismatic, smart, destroyed multiple galaxies, [[spoiler:and has an even more evil, more intimidating form that shows why he was locked up]].
* {{Fanon}}: The common fan theory for the finale is [[spoiler: that the "dinosaur zoo" is actually the only one of its kind, with the creatures themselves being recently revived by science (a la ''Jurassic Park'') and the Rangers just jumping to conclusions. This helps to avert every past season being erased from continuity, as well as the ridiculous implications for the history of the human race.]]
* GermansLoveDavidHasselhoff: Yoshi Sudarso, Koda's Actor is VERY popular among Indonesian viewers because he is American-Indonesian descent.
* HeartwarmingInHindsight: In the next to last episode of the series, Heckyl decides to help out the Rangers if they're willing to accept him. Tyler tells him: "You're one of us, now.", welcoming him immediately. Fast forward to Power Morpihcon 2018, where it's revealed that not only will Heckyl return in the [[ComicBook/MightyMorphinPowerRangersBoomStudios comics]] he's become the Dino Charge Dark Ranger. As an added layer, when this happened, Brennan Mejia (Tyler) happened to be watching the panel. He rushed out to grab Ryan Carter (Heckyl) who, by pure chance, had decided to attend unannounced to bring him into the room so he could see for himself the fandom's excitement to this news.
* HilariousInHindsight:
** [[http://joeshiba.deviantart.com/art/Dino-Charge-logo-v2-381449297 This DeviantArt post made eight months prior to the announcement pretty much called what this season will be called.]]
** The first season aired the same year that ''Film/JurassicWorld'' was released. The very first [[Series/MightyMorphinPowerRangers dinosaur themed series's]] first season aired the same year that the original ''Film/JurassicPark'' was released.
*** Also regarding ''Jurassic World'', Tyler's nickname for his zord ends up funny since ''World'' ''also'' calls its T. rex "Rexie."
*** Another similarity with the show and [[Film/JurassicWorldFallenKingdom the film's sequel]] is [[spoiler: both have ended up with with dinosaurs now becoming integrated into society, ''Dino Charge'' due to their deaths being undone, and ''Fallen Kingdom'' being the dinosaur population being released into the mainland and now roaming free after being confined to an island for so long.]]
** The Rangers fighting aliens this season, and how it takes place in 2015. It was stated in bonus material for ''[[Series/PowerRangersSPD SPD]]'' that the Earth Branch was founded in 2015.
** "The Ghostest With the Mostest," the episode that saw two Kodas (one was a monster disguised as him, premiered the day before the episode of ''Series/ShurikenSentaiNinninger'' that featured Yoshi in a cameo ("Shinobi 34", the one that also featured [[Series/SekaiNinjaSenJiraiya Jiraiya]]). In effect, there were two Yoshi Sudarsos for fans of both ''Dino Charge'' and ''Ninninger''.
*** Gets even funnier when Saban ends up adapting ''Ninninger'' into [[Series/PowerRangersNinjaSteel Dino Charge's successor]].
** The fact that Bragigas has apparently been named the Titanosaurus rather than Brachiosaurus. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qNVqekz_SCk As a matter of fact...]]
** How do the Rangers defeat Sledge in ''Edge Of Extinction''? [[spoiler: By throwing him into the sun,]] which is not only awesome, but also exactly the fate he threatened Heckyl with in ''Wishing for Hero''. Extra points for Heckyl being tasked with executing this part of the plan.
** Johnathan Tzachor (who produced ''Samurai'' and ''Megaforce'') stated in the past that all the series he didn't work on (''Ninja Storm''-''RPM'') are not canon - obviously, Saban eventually overruled him on this claim. [[spoiler: If ''Dino Super Charge'''s ending did really retcon all previous ''Power Rangers'' seasons, the only one that would still be canon is ''RPM'' - the last season he didn't produce]]. Though it has since been confirmed that ''Dino Charge'' is another AlternateUniverse like ''RPM'', and thus didn't retcon anything related to the previous series.
** In ''Mighty Morphin'' season 2, Lord Zedd's personal Zord, Serpentera, was limited by it's power supply - while officially, the Zord required a huge amount of fuel to use, a common joke is that it's powered by AA Batteries. Here, the villains get their hands on the Gold Ranger's Zord... but can only use it by using the Gold Dino Charger, which is basically a battery!
** During the Dino Charge panel at Power Morphicon 2018, Ryan Carter commented that the Keeper robes were much more comfortable to wear compared to the suit he had for the entire season. A few hours later at the Boom! Studios Shattered Grid panel, it's revealed that not only is his character coming back he's wearing a new suit that's a mixture of his old one and his Keeper outfit.
** Brennan Mejia (Tyler Navarro) was featured in ''Series/Supergirl2015'' ([[Recap/Supergirl2015S4E11BloodMemory S4E11]]), where he played a drug dealer. It's enough that it brought back the jokes about "[[Series/MightyMorphinPowerRangers Mighty]] [[BannedInChina Morphine]]", but the drug he was selling was also "[[FantasticDrug supercharged]]" [[LightningCanDoAnything by electricity]] [[spoiler:from "''[[FanNickname Red]]'' Daughter" spreading around the world while she's being defibrillated]] and it [[MassSuperEmpoweringEvent gives superpowers]] to its consumers.
** In a dinosaur-themed ''Power Rangers'' season, Koda's actor's first name is [[Franchise/SuperMarioBros Yoshi]]. Even better, he's a [[WesternAnimation/SuperMarioWorld caveman]].
* HoYay:
** Chase and Riley. There are a lot of scenes where their faces are inches apart or they're grabbing each other's shoulders, and fans have pointed out that when Riley talks to Chase about how people back on the farm made a lot of "wrong assumptions" about him, it seemed like it was a few lines away from a ComingOutStory. Later episodes have a lot of body language between the two of them, especially wrapping their arms around each other and getting into each other's personal space. The general consensus is that there's camaraderie, and then there's Chiley. This may have been intentional on the part of Riley's actor, who revealed years later that he had interpreted the character as gay and having a crush on Chase.
** "Sync or Swim" brings in Ivan and Tyler, who apparently decided the best way to apologize for their rivalry that episode was to (respectively) make them dinner and buy them clothes. And they take selfies together.
** "True Black" has some general ho yay during the opening sequence. Ivan and Riley are sparring when they come across Tyler doing [[ShirtlessScene shirtless yoga]], with Riley commenting "Nice!" and Ivan nodding in approval. It's likely meant to look like they're complementing his skill, but the angle makes it look like they're [[FemaleGaze staring at his ass]].
** Phillip[=/=]Koda also has some fans. Koda saves Phillip from monsters in the latter's first appearance, and later it's Koda who Phillip goes to when trying to figure out how to work his Energem. Note that he met with Koda over lunch, which many have interpreted as a date between the two.
* IKnewIt: Anyone either familiar with the [[Series/ZyudenSentaiKyoryuger source material]] or watched the franchise long enough knew that [[spoiler: Ivan was trapped inside Fury]]. It's [[Series/PowerRangersWildForce not unprecedented]] either.
** On the subject of [[spoiler: Ivan]], quite a few predicted that he would [[spoiler: be a medieval knight]] since in the source material, his Sentai counterpart was a samurai.
** [[spoiler: Kendall]] becoming the Purple Ranger after Albert's tenure. ''Kyoryuger'', the casting sides that Saban Brands released, or the color of the glasses were dead giveaways. That and she was MissionControl. [[Series/PowerRangersNinjaStorm Cam Watanabe]] set the precedent that those behind the scenes could wind up on the front lines.
** Quite a few predicted [[spoiler: Tyler's dad, James]] becoming the Aqua Ranger. The big giveaway was the scene where [[spoiler: James]] gets crushed by the boulders in the flashback scene of ''A Date with Danger'', since when he got crushed, [[spoiler: a bright aqua light emerges from the rocks that crushed him, indicating he bonds himself with the aqua energem]].
** [[spoiler:A lot of theories surrounding season 2 suggested that Sledge wasn't killed in the crash, and that he would be the GreaterScopeVillain of season 2. Sledge's survival was confirmed via the synopsis for the episode Worgworld.]]
** [[spoiler: One popular theory, thanks to the ending of ''Dino Supercharge'', was that much like ''RPM'', ''Dino Charge'' took place in an alternate dimension from the main dimension. Sure enough, come [[Series/PowerRangersNinjaSteel next season]], that gets confirmed]].
* JerkassWoobie:
** Bios for the villains have stated that Fury, bad as he may be, did not choose to work for Sledge. Sledge won Fury in a card game, so he actually "owns" Fury, and it's also stated that he sees Fury as being of little value, as evidenced in Episodes 1 and 3, where we see how Sledge threatens and belittles him, and how he constantly lets Poisandra mouth off to and mock Fury. The one reason Fury wants to recover the Energems for Sledge is just so he can be free again.
** This can extend to most, if not all of Sledge's prisoners. They are criminals who have been captured by a bounty hunter, who is now offering them their freedom in exchange for recovering the Energems. Either the monsters risk complete destruction at the hands of the Rangers, or they remain Sledge's prisoners. Dino Super Charge has one prisoner who's planet was destroyed by Heckyl/Snide (something he called Heckyl out on), and another being mocked by everyone on the ship and is feared by civillians even though he doesn't even attack them.
* MemeticLoser: Chase. Compared to the others, Chase has had a large amount of bad things happen to him. Not including incidents he has shared with the others (having his courage stolen, bonds of friendship cut, wish backfiring, being frozen, hit by a greed spell, and body swapped) Chase has been: trapped in a cage for most of an episode, mind controlled, given a crippling toothache, hit with the Dino Cupid Charger, had his sister almost killed, been dumped for his Ranger alter ego, and electrocuted twice.
* MemeticMutation:
** Shovels: A Ranger's greatest weapon (because they've been used multiple times in unmorphed fights). Some call them the ''true'' secondary weapons of the season.
** It's lost on few people that Sledge essentially had Curio built to be Poisandra's GayBestFriend.
** Keeper may have killed all the dinosaurs, but he's ''still'' a better mentor than [[Series/PowerRangersSamurai Jii]] or [[Series/PowerRangersMegaforce Gosei]].
** What are dolphins?
** Many jokes have been made by the fandom about the rangers flying all the way to New Zealand for two episodes, [[CaliforniaDoubling when they could have just walked down the street to get there]].
** [[http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-eRQu6texx_Q/Vj6SjCkQI0I/AAAAAAADdfE/T0YuRKkKpoI/s1600/CTKWZuEUkAAXG60.png This]] image from "No Matter How You Slice It," especially Chase, is often exploited to make NSFW-jokes.
** Ask any fan one of the most memorable quotes from the season and you might get Sledge's "[[OhCrap IT'S A BOOOOOOMB!!]]" line. Notable because it was ''in the opening for every episode'' and a minor RunningGag for him, occurring in every appearance he had outside of Dino Charge.
* MoralEventHorizon: [[MoralEventHorizon/PowerRangers See the page for examples.]]
* {{Narm}}: Of course there's narm, it's ''Power Rangers''!
** Riley's SherlockScan in Episode 9, which came right out of nowere and amounts to little more than him muttering about angles as random measurements appear in his surroundings. It should be noted that only one of the problems he solved had ''anything'' to do with angles in the first place.
** Shelby and Dr. Runga getting excited as the Plesiozord charges up... completely offscreen, with only a purple glow to even hint that something is happening.
* NarmCharm:
** Ivan's dialogue as the Gold Ranger is so corny and over-the-top, and yet it fits his personality so perfectly it would be jarring if he were any different. It helps that the actor [[Series/PowerRangersSamurai really is Hispanic this time]], bringing to mind ''telenovelas''.
** For some people, [[spoiler: Earth getting sucked into a black hole]] in the finale. Depending on who you ask it was either legitimately suspenseful, too ridiculous for ''Power Rangers'', or just ridiculous enough.
* OlderThanTheyThink: A common complaint about ''Dino Charge'' was that the plot felt like it was recycling the premise of this show. However, the "Villain desires the rangers' TransformationTrinket[=s=]" season-long plot was used as early as ''Series/PowerRangersLostGalaxy''[[note]]unlike in ''Dino Charge'', however, ''Lost Galaxy'' had it as a secondary plot[[/note]].
* OneSceneWonder: The Knights of Amber Beach for ''Dino Charge''. For ''Dino Super Charge'', James Gaylyn as [[LargeHam Mr. Watkins]].
* PortmanteauCoupleName: "Chiley" for Chase/Riley, "Khelby" for Kendall/Shelby, "Shyler" for Shelby/Tyler, "Tyvan" for Tyler/Ivan, "Phoda" for Phillip/Koda.
* RecycledPremise: The finale involves Earth getting destroyed by a black hole and the Rangers going back in time to save it. Exactly like the Season 3 finale of ''WesternAnimation/TeenageMutantNinjaTurtles2012''.
* ReplacementScrappy: Despite his presence throughout the show, [[GreaterScopeVillain Lord Arcanon]] is commonly seen as bland and generic compared to the three previous [[BigBad Big Bads]] due to [[OrcusOnHisThrone hardly doing much of anything throughout his five-episode appearance]], his shallow personality, and his [[AntiClimaxBoss very rushed and anti-climactic final battle against the Rangers]] just makes you wonder how he was powerful enough to even destroy Heckyl's home planet.
* TheScrappy: The Aqua Ranger, [[spoiler: James Navarro]]. He's often dismissed as selfish and neglectful, despite what the show would tell us, and many fans have called him out on [[spoiler: abandoning Tyler ''twice'' and using the weak excuse of searching for Energems and trusting Tyler to be fine on his own to justify it]].
* SeasonalRot[=/=]SophomoreSlump: While ''Dino Charge'' is well-regarded by fans, ''Dino Super Charge'' is considered to be a weaker follow-up, due to its overuse of fillers and the controversial ending (see Broken Base). Reception is however more positive than ''Super Megaforce'', on the SoOkayItsAverage side.
* ShipMates: While almost every character has multiple popular pairings with almost everyone else, the most common and efficient configuration seems to be Shelby/Tyler, Chase/Riley, Kendall/Ivan, and Koda/Phillip.
* SoOkayItsAverage: Barring the ending, the general consensus for ''Dino Super Charge'' was that while it wasn't as bad as say, ''Super Megaforce'', it relied on filler more than usual and didn't feel as strong as ''Dino Charge''.
* SpecialEffectFailure:
** In "Let Sleeping Zords Lie," the stinger [[spoiler:on Koda's back]] keeps disappearing from the shot, most noticeably when he falls on his back.
** The dinosaurs that Keeper interacts with in "Powers From The Past" look like they stepped out of the original ''{{VideoGame/Turok}}''.
** For whatever reason, the Gold Ranger suit does not look shiny at all in the original footage, making it look almost kind of tan.
** The Graphite Ranger's arms appear blue in original footage, compared to his counterpart (Kyoryu Gray) being completely gray. A photo from [[https://twitter.com/jarredblakiston/status/658026836996128768 Phillip's actor Jarred Blakiston]] standing next to his suit actor shows the suit with gray sleeves, implying that it was a camera or lighting problem. This is something the franchise has long had to deal with: different technologies and materials both in filming and in suit-making mean things don't always show up on camera the same way. The ''hardest'' hit are metallic Rangers, who can be super-shiny in one version and not-so-shiny in another, though from gray to ''blue'' is new. This was eventually fixed by the finale with Graphite's original scenes give him gray sleeves.
** One combined with StockFootageFailure: In the ''Dino Super Charge'' opening, there's a shot of all 8 Rangers taken from a ''Kyoryuger'' episode that had Kyoryu Cyan rather than Kyoryu Violet. For some unfathomable reason, instead of doing a new shot with Kendall in the Purple Ranger suit instead (or doing what they did with replacing Megaforce Red with Overdrive Red in the first ''Super Megaforce'' episode), they instead recolored the Kyoryu Cyan suit in the scene a VERY unconvincing purple and added a "skirt" to it, despite the fact that Kyoryu Cyan has a ''completely different helmet''.
* SpoiledByTheFormat: It was pretty much a given that Sledge's crew survived the crash, since killing off all the Sentai villains in the middle of the season would really gimp the stock footage.
* StockFootageFailure:
** Averted when it comes to the Dino Chargers. Unlike in ''Megaforce'' (''especially'' the cards in the ''Goseiger'' half), stock footage involving the Dino Chargers is edited to show the English dinosaur names instead of ''Kyoryuger'''s names (i.e. "Tyrannosaurus Rex" instead of "Gabutyra"). Though there was one moment in Episode 4 where you can briefly see "Gabutyra" on Tyler's Dino Charger, but it's very quick and easy to miss. Even then that's averted as future airings edited to Tyrannosaurus Rex.
** Speaking of Tyrannosaurus Rex, a less glaring one happens when his ''Kyoryuger'' debut emerging from a tropical island's volcano (lined by palm trees at the base) is used as-is, but in ''Dino Charge'' the Rangers clearly see him emerging while they are surrounded by temperate foliage.
** Episode 4 has another example: During the battle with the Rangers, the cage on [[MonsterOfTheWeek Slammer]]'s left shoulder is suddenly being damaged for no apparent reason. This is because in ''Kyoryuger'', the Kyoryugers had to destroy said cage to free Debo Royaroya's captives.
** One of the more noticeable examples is Fury's furry collar -- in ''Kyoryuger'' he started out without it but gained it later as part of the plot, while ''Dino Charge'' doesn't attach any significance to the collar so he's seen with and without it at various points. Most notably, the opening goes straight from a long shot of Fury without the collar to a close-up of him with the collar.
** In "Forged Under Fire", the Rangers minus Tyler summon the Dino Charge Megazord [=TriStegoPtera=] Formation to fight a giant Fury, while Tyler uses T-Rex Super Charge mode to fight off Singe. Except Super Charge Mode requires the T-Rex Zord to work and it's combined with three others at the moment. How can it be in two places at once?
** In "Catching Some Rays", Loafer and Leisure's design is unchanged from their original incarnation as Debo Vacance from Brave 31 of ''Kyoryuger''; as such, they still have the "DEBOTH GUN TEAM CANDERRILLA" inscription on the surfboards on their backs (plainly visible while Leisure is fighting Chase on the first part of the episode). Plus, when Leisure flies off Earth to draw power from the Sun for her laziness beam attack, the zoom-out from Japan seen in the original is still used - ''twice'' (before and after the first commercial break).
* SurprisinglyImprovedSequel: With better acting, original plots and footage, and fleshed-out characters, ''Dino Charge'' is widely considered to be superior to ''Megaforce'' and ''Samurai''.
* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodCharacter: Albert Smith is a rare elderly Ranger, a male Ranger with a feminine color, and a quirky woodsman, but he only appears in ''one'' episode.
* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodPlot:
** The source material for the series, ''Series/ZyudenSentaiKyoryuger'', crossed over with ''Series/TokumeiSentaiGobusters'', and in said crossover, the ''[[Series/KyoryuSentaiZyuranger Zyurangers]]'' and ''[[Series/BakuryuuSentaiAbaranger Abarangers]]''[[note]]the Sentai counterparts to the Series/MightyMorphinPowerRangers and the [[Series/PowerRangersDinoThunder Dino Thunder rangers]][[/note]] both showed up and played important roles...yet the only thing adapted from this crossover was one of the villains. If they had used any footage, they would have had teams representing all 3 eras of Power Rangers -- the original Saban Era, the Disney Era, and the Neo Saban Era. While it's true that ''Go-Busters'' wasn't adapted, and Dragon Ranger/Kibaranger/Abareblack (the Sentai counterparts to Tommy) are not present in this crossover[[note]]although to be fair, realistically, only Abareblack could have shown up - Kibaranger is from ''Series/GoseiSentaiDairanger'', a sentai that wasn't included in ''Kyoryuger vs. Go-Busters'' and Dragon Ranger was KilledOffForReal[[/note]], there is precedent for seasons to have more than one team of rangers [[note]]The Alien Rangers, the PR version of ''Series/NinjaSentaiKakuranger'', debuted in ''Mighty Morphin''[[/note]], and one could argue that Tommy was too busy doing other things at the time. This might have also eased the BrokenBase mentioned above about the decision to skip [=Go-Busters=], since it would at least have confirmed that some counterpart to the [=Go-Busters=] existed in the Power Rangers universe. This is one more instance where ''Series/PowerRangersBeastMorphers'' changes everything: yes, we ARE getting the triple-dino team-up!
** One episode has Koda rediscover his home from before he was frozen, where his grandfather kept a monster trapped. What could have been an exploration of Koda's past and a battle with a monster unique from the season's villains instead becomes a silly episode about everyone being magically compelled to go on vacation, with the monster coincidentally having a twin brother already working for Heckyl.
** Ivan and Fury's rivalry has a great foundation, but goes nowhere. At best they happen to single each other out in a few fights, and [[spoiler: Ivan only gives a quick comment when Fury is blown up in the finale.]]
** As noted by Linkara, Heckyl pretending to befriend the Rangers while secretly manipulating them could have been an intriguing plot but the Rangers quickly discover his true identity.
* WinBackTheCrowd: At the time when the season was in preproduction, Saban made a series of announcements helped reassure long time fans disenchanted from the ''Samurai-Super Megaforce'' seasons (although many fans were honest in that there was ''no way'' it could get worse).
** First came the news that Judd Lynn, who was the creative force behind ''Turbo'''s [[GrowingTheBeard second half]] through ''Time Force'' and the latter half of ''RPM'', was returning as EP with an interview subtly addressing the characterization and creative problems that plagued the last four seasons. This also confirmed rumors that Jonathan Tzachor, the previous EP, had left/been fired.
** Then the cast's reveal at Power Morphicon excited fans even more, featuring the franchise's first African-American Pink Ranger ever and first African-American heroine in what will be '''[[Series/PowerRangersTimeForce fourteen years]]'''.
** Third came the promo's reveal of ''Power Rangers''[='=] first original villain since [[Series/PowerRangersRPM Venjix]]. [[note]]Who later became a CompositeCharacter of three Sentai villains through host bodies but still.[[/note]]
** And then came news that [[Series/MightyMorphinPowerRangers Austin]] [[Series/PowerRangersZeo St. John]] revealed being in talks to return, coming off the heels of him meeting his [[Series/KyoryuSentaiZyuranger first Sentai counterpart, Yuta Mochizuki]].
** Not to mention fears that ''Kyoryuger's'' Gaburevolver would be [[{{Bowdlerise}} demoted to weapon]] a la ''Jungle Fury'' were relieved when it was revealed that the gun would stay as the team's morpher.
** Plus the return of Ranger bikes. The number of teases from cast, crew and other sources have pretty much turned ''Super Megaforce'' into a lame duck season. (The fact the rest of the episodes for ''Super Megaforce'' have aired in other countries doesn't help that any.)
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bQ4v7w4Kiyc The theme song not being yet another remix of "Go Go Power Rangers]]." Although it does have it at the end.
*** Another note on the opening... '''NO MICKEY MOUSE CLUB ROLL CALL IN THE OPENING'''.
** After the first episode premiered on Nick.com, we are already getting positive reception. The first episode consisted ''entirely'' of original footage. So, any worries about this season being a ShotForShotRemake like ''Series/PowerRangersSamurai'' have been quelled.
*** Some have also noted that the first episode alone contained plenty of decent character development for heroes and villains alike, pointing out how the past four seasons have had little of that. One Youtube reviewer in particular pointed out how the first episode alone gave Tyler more characterization and development than Troy had in all of ''Megaforce'' and ''Super Megaforce''.
** Fans of ''Series/ZyudenSentaiKyoryuger'' are glad that unlike the source material, they are actually giving the Red and Pink Rangers proper ShipTease rather than a LastMinuteHookUp.
*** And they got another when Luckyuro got adapted into Curio reuniting him with Poisandra/Candelira.
