** On the subject of [[spoiler: Ivan]], quite a few predicted that he would [[spoiler: be a medieval knight]] since in the source material, his Sentai counterpart was a samurai.
** [[spoiler: Kendall]] becoming the Purple Ranger after Albert's tenure. ''Kyoryuger'', the casting sides that Saban Brands released, or the color of the glasses were dead giveaways. That and she was MissionControl. [[Series/PowerRangersNinjaStorm Cam Watanabe]] set the precedent that those behind the scenes could wind up on the front lines.

Requires Word Of God confirmation

* AuthorsSavingThrow: In "The Royal Rangers," Kendall introduces the Dino Drive mode, specifically stating it was just for when the Rangers use the Megazord. This is an Author's Saving Throw from ''Series/PowerRangersSamurai'', where one of the (many) complaints was that the Samurai Rangers had Mega Mode for use in the Megazord but never explained why the Rangers couldn't use it in regular battle. Granted, there wasn't much of an explanation in ''Dino Charge'', but Kendall pointing out the armor was only for Megazord battles was still more than ''Samurai'' ever said about the issue. (Like ''Samurai's'' Mega Mode, Dino Drive is a Megazord-only enhancement because it didn't come from ''Super Sentai''; they're filming new cockpit footage anyway but they don't want to sacrifice ''Kyoryuger'' footage to fit the enhancement in regular battle.)
** Fans have pointed out the unspoken FridgeHorror regarding the rangers no longer aging thanks to the Energems. "World Famous! (In New Zealand)" reveals that Keeper can easily remove the bond between a ranger and their gem if they agree to it.
** Heckyl's similarities to Enter manages to mitigate any soreness from skipping ''[[Series/TokumeiSentaiGobusters Go-Busters]]''. Not to mention, the fact that his armored form is Neo-Geldion from ''Kyoryuger vs. Go-Busters'' has left people speculating that they might find some one to at least do their own version if the [[Series/MightyMorphinPowerRangers three]] [[Series/PowerRangersDinoThunder Dinosaur]] [[Series/PowerRangersDinoCharge teams]] team-up. Although, Judd Lynn and Heckyl's actor Ryan Carter have {{jossed}} the theory that Heckyl is based on Enter and any similarities are coincidental.

Critical Research Failure is a disambiguation page

* CriticalResearchFailure:
** Here, the Pachycepholasaurus is incorrectly known as the Pachyosaurus, by the dinosaur geek no less. Granted, saying the former would be a mouthful for anyone, so it's not completely unjustified.
** The finale. First, the rangers come up with a plan to destroy the dark energem by getting as many people as possible to hold up mirrors to reflect sunlight at it to destroy it. Then, after they go back in time and end up inverting the meteor that hit the Earth at the beginning of the series so it never happened. Then when they go back to the present, they find out that dinosaurs now cohabitate the Earth with humans. The problem is, if dinosaurs never went extinct, lower mammals would have never had the chance to evolve into the species we know of today because food would be scarce, not allowing populations of mammals to grow and evolve over time to suit their environments, as most of the vegetation would be eaten by the plant eating dinos. Then there's the carnivores possibly eating a good number of the mammals. Secondly, if the dinosaurs were still alive over 65 million years, they would have evolved into some other form of life like mammals have and not just be evolutionarily stagnant for that amount of time. There can only be one dominant species on a planet at once, and the one that not only survives, but gets stronger as a species as populations grow and develop.
** Then there's the fact that if the dinosaurs still exist, ''Dino Thunder'', a well-liked series in the fandom, can't happen, as Mesogog would've never be born due to Anton Mercer never meeting up with Tommy to look for the Dino Gems, and their partnership never forging, then nothing else would've been set in motion. Nor possibly MMPR, seeing as half the team that have Dinosaurs as their costume motif would be significant enough to warrant such a thing, nor would the other two of the main 5's animals have evolved, then went extinct, to be well known enough.
*** Now somewhat of a moot point, since ''Ninja Steel'' confirmed that ''Dino Charge'' takes place in an alternate universe.

Misuse

* ToughActToFollow: ''Dino Thunder'', the last dinosaur based series, is commonly cited as one of the better seasons of the Disney Era and of the franchise as a whole. Then of course there is the first season to be dinosaur based... the original ''Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers''. Tough act to follow indeed. It measured up well to previous dino seasons, though some fans noted that the mid point of the second season to the end being a bit of a dip in quality.
** Averted with this season's direct predecessor; most fans will agree it won't be hard to be better than ''Megaforce''.

* UncannyValley:
** Used rather well in "Breaking Black." The MindControlEyes Spellbinder's victims get look ''very'' unnatural, but this works to the plot's advantage by highlighting how creepy his power is.
** Heckyl is trying to act like a normal human, but he's always just ''slightly'' off. It is both creepy and fitting, since he's a {{Human Alien|s}}. Also, considering that he [[spoiler:was there long before humans evolved]] and spent who knows how long in solitary confinement, it's understandable that he doesn't have the ''human part'' exactly nailed down.

** The Graphite Ranger's arms appear blue in original footage, compared to his counterpart (Kyoryu Gray) being completely gray. This is something the franchise has long had to deal with: different technologies and materials both in filming and in suit-making mean things don't always show up on camera the same way. The ''hardest'' hit are metallic Rangers, who can be super-shiny in one version and not-so-shiny in another, though from gray to ''blue'' is new.
*** This seems to have been fixed by the finale as Graphite's original scenes give him gray sleeves.

A photo from [[https://twitter.com/jarredblakiston/status/658026836996128768 Phillip's actor Jarred Blakiston]] standing next to his suit actor shows the suit with gray sleeves, implying that it was a camera or lighting problem. This is something the franchise has long had to deal with: different technologies and materials both in filming and in suit-making mean things don't always show up on camera the same way. The ''hardest'' hit are metallic Rangers, who can be super-shiny in one version and not-so-shiny in another, though from gray to ''blue'' is new.

new. This seems to have been was eventually fixed by the finale as with Graphite's original scenes give him gray sleeves.

Tough act to follow indeed...

Then of course there is the first season to be dinosaur based... the original ''Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers''. Tough act to follow indeed...indeed. It measured up well to previous dino seasons, though some fans noted that the mid point of the second season to the end being a bit of a dip in quality.

** So far it seems to be measuring up well to previous dino seasons, so the trope may be averted.
* UncannyValley: Used rather well in "Breaking Black." The MindControlEyes Spellbinder's victims get look ''very'' unnatural, but this works to the plot's advantage by highlighting how creepy his power is.
** Heckyl is trying to act like a normal human, but he's always just ''slightly'' off. It is both creepy and fitting, since he's a {{Human Alien|s}}. Also, considering that he [[spoiler:was there long before humans evolved]] and spent who knows how long in solitery confiment, it's understandable that he doesn't have the ''human part'' exactly nailed down.

** Ask any fan one of the most memorable quotes from the season and you might get Sledge's "[[OhCrap IT'S A BOOOOOOMB!!]]" line. Notable because it was ''in the opening for every episode'', and a minor RunningGag for him to boot.

** Before his character has even had his debut, Yoshi Sudarso has been very loved by fans because of his fellow geekiness: He watched ''Kyoryuger'', ''bought the toys'', knew Nossan's poses and [[ApprovalOfGod even got approval from Nossan's actor]]. That's one awesome dude. No surprise then that his character, Koda, is (so far) the most popular on the show. People love his lines and expressions.

** As an added layer, this was announced at Power Morphicon 2018 and Brennan Mejia (Tyler) happened to be watching the panel. He rushed out to grab Heckyl's actor who, by pure chance, had decided to attend unannounced to bring him into the room so he could see for himself the fandom's excitement to this news.
