* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic:
** The whole album qualifies, but particular mentions would go to "Overture 1928", "Beyond This Life", "Home", and "Finally Free."
** "The Dance of Eternity" also deserves mention as a perennial contender for the crown of Dream Theater's best instrumental.
* BrokenBase: "Home" is a fantastic EpicRocking song... with an instrumental break partway in that contains the sounds of orgasmic moaning. Some fans appreciate its relevance to the plot, as it represents Victoria having an affair with Edward in order to cope with Julian's neglect. Others think that it ruins the song by making it incredibly awkward to listen to when others are around.
* FridgeHorror: It's implied that Victoria's communications with Nicholas are to [[spoiler: warn him that the Hypnotherapist is going to kill him, because he is Edward reincarnated]]. If this is the case, then it's entirely possible that The Miracle will [[spoiler: continue to murder further reincarnations]] for the rest of eternity. As if being killed once wasn't bad enough.
* MemeticMutation: Whenever there's a video that explains the time signatures of "The Dance of Eternity", people often joke that they "finally gave lyrics to the song".
* NightmareFuel: Many SpokenWord parts may come across as this. There is the sexual grunting that can be heard at the start of the instrumental portion of "Home", the killing scene in "Finally Free", and don't even get us started on the LastNoteNightmare at the end of the album.
* SacredCow: ''Scenes from a Memory'' is generally considered Music/DreamTheater's best album, with some going so far as to call it the greatest ProgressiveMetal album of all time, and a portion of the band's fandom doesn't take kindly to those who disrespect it.
* TearJerker: There are several very powerful ones in this album including "Through Her Eyes", "The Spirit Carries On" (which doubles as a SugarWiki/{{Heartwarming Moment|s}}), and "Finally Free" (especially the part before Nicholas' last lines)
