* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic: There is a bit of music called 'Main Theme' on the OST that plays whenever Misaki has one of her many [[SugarWiki/MomentOfAwesome CMoA]]. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BeICjkrcp2w Just... listen to it.]]
** Much of the OST can be included, but special mention goes to ''[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1QvMZv5ogKQ Natsu Koi Monogatari]]'' by [=UxMishi=], performed at the Yumesaki High school festival live concert.
* CatharsisFactor: After Aoi repeatedly and obnoxiously attempts to seduce Usui in episode 4, many viewers were left satisfied after Misaki slapped [[spoiler: him]] in the face for it.
* DieForOurShip: Oh, the treatment Hinata gets from the Usui/Misaki shippers! [[spoiler: [[SubvertedTrope Subverted]] as of the last ten chapters, as his role went to the PairTheSpares route.]]
* DesignatedHero: Usui is presented as a ChivalrousPervert by the narration, which makes him a rare exception to Misaki's dislike of men yet much of [[StalkerWithACrush his]] behavior towards Misaki is outright [[EntitledToHaveYou sexual harassment]]. [[{{Hypocrite}} Behavior that he stops other people from engaging in, but indulges in himself]]. [[CrazyJealousGuy Such as in episode 16, where he gives her a hickey so that she'd be to embarrassed to wear her bikini, because he wanted to be the only one to see her wearing it]]. Then in episode 17, he [[ItsAllAboutMe selfishly]] signs up to the volleyball tournament against Misaki and Aoi (to whom winning the tournament was vitally important, as he would win the freedom to dress however he wanted), [[IfICantHaveYou just because he didn't want Misaki to be crowned beach princess without him as King]].
* FridgeBrilliance: Although Misaki's behavior when hypnotized by Kanou into acting as if she's drunk in episode 14 might seem OutOfCharacter to some, it makes perfect sense when one considers two important factors:
** Besides slurred speech, another notable symptom of being drunk is a loss of inhibitions, meaning that Misaki would be more inclined to do things that she would not usually do (in this case stripping herself and being more overtly affectionate around Usui).
** Hypnosis as a whole revolves around not outright controlling a subject's behavior, but [[MoreThanMindControl bringing out what's already there]]. Misaki already had feelings for Usui, so it's only natural that this side of her would be expressed under the influence.
* FridgeHorror: The traditional class trip has the year two students of Seika High go to a temple on the countryside so that the students can learn self discipline. While the girls stay behind in relative comfort and perform chores in the temple, they boys are sent into into the surrounding forest where they are deprived of food and sleep. By the final day of the trip the boys are so psychologically broken from starvation and exhaustion that they lose all inhibitions, and the teachers have to build a barricade to physically separate the boys' and girls' lodgings. This year, a heavy rain has stranded the teachers in their lodging, and thus unable to build the barricade to keep the boy's from raiding the girls' accommodations. Although the girls were lucky enough that Misaki, Usui, and Hinata are strong enough to beat the boys back to their lodgings, it's only a matter of time before there's a class action lawsuit against Seika High School or even the Ministry of Education for allowing the trip, as well as criminal proceedings in the juvenile justice system over the sexual assault on the female students by male students.
* HeartwarmingInHindsight: During the story's election arc, Misaki made mention to Kanou (her, albeit reluctant, rival for the presidency) that she would not mind if he were to become her immediate successor. Fast forward to Chapter 81, [[spoiler: Kanou exactly becomes that, and with some added dose of TrainingFromHell courtesy of her.]]
* HilariousInHindsight:
** The multitude of moments where Misaki would address Takumi as "Idiot Usui" became this [[spoiler: in the DistantFinale HappyEnding, where they both leave the castle through Tora and Maki's helicopter.]] As lampshaded and admitted by Misaki:
-->"Both of us are doing something stupid... [[spoiler:So we're ''both'' "Idiot Usuis...."]]
** Speaking of Usui, that FreezeFrameBonus of him cosplaying as a Doctor in Chapter 58 becomes this [[spoiler: when he finally reveals himself in the DistantFinale as a successful doctor for the Walker Family.]]
** With added CastingGag: Kanou's fear of women in his introduction arc becomes this, considering that [[Anime/MobileSuitGundamIronBloodedOrphans about half a decade later]], [[Creator/KosukeToriumi his seiyuu]] ended up voicing [[SexyManInstantHarem Naze Turbine]].
* HoYay: Yukimura and Usui, especially when the latter kisses the former! You either laugh out loud or be disturbed every time this happens. Perhaps both.
** Yukimura and Kanou as well, as their friendship is steeped in HomoeroticSubtext. Especially in the DistantFinale, where they are revealed to be living together, ostensibly due to Kanou's difficult financial situation.
** Chapter 54 compares the teasing relationship of Usui's older brother with his valet to that of Usui and Misaki. It cannot help but come across as very HoYay.
** Maki is a little ''too'' happy to be serving Igarashi: He acts as Igarashi's butler outside of school, has an apparently extensive collection of hand-drawn portraits of Igarashi (which he's still doing in the DistantFinale) and, in one of the specials, swoons over Igarashi's 'fierce expression'... that being the one Igarashi uses while being aggressive with Misaki. Igarashi only seems to be annoyed by it when Maki's "hobbies" surface around others, and Usui even comments that if Maki were female, he'd make Igarashi a good wife.
** Shiroyan and Kurotatsu also, to an extent. They do know each other like the back of their heads, making Ikkun feel like he's just the third wheel during their focus episode.
* LesYay: The girls of Seika see Misaki as a "prince-like" character, the female customers of Maid Latte ''love'' "Misaki-kun," and Maria Miyazono is totally HotForStudent.
* LGBTFanbase: Usui has himself tons of gay fanboys.
* MemeticMutation: Nobody's perf- [[InterruptingMeme "I'm Usui."]]
* {{Moe}}: Sometimes played straight (with justification), sometimes played around, sometimes subverted.
** Misaki, Aoi [[WholesomeCrossdresser as a girl]], and Ruri.
** In-character, the manager of the Maid Latte cafe, Satsuki, is fanatical about all things moe. She's pretty much Ken Akamatsu in a skirt. And an [[ShipperOnDeck Usui x Misaki supporter.]]
** Sakura's character is all made for this purpose. There isn't a single moment where she's not acting moe from some angle. You can't blame the hard-boiled Misaki to care for her when she's about to tear up.
** Yukimura too. It's a wonder he doesn't just [[ImTakingHerHomeWithMe get kidnapped]] walking down the street.
* MoralEventHorizon: [[spoiler: Igarashi after he tries to rape Misaki.]]
* PeripheryDemographic: Although ''Kaichou wa Maid-sama'' is a {{shoujo}} series, it has a rather large male fanbase. It's not just due to Misaki's cuter moments, but the male characters (especially Usui) are straight-up fun to watch for male fans, as if they were watching a typical comedic shonen.
* StrangledByTheRedString: [[spoiler: Aoi and Honoka]]. While they did have a separate post-series chapter dedicated to their relationship, it was barely touched at all in the main story save for a couple of interactions.
* ThemePairing: There is apparently a minuscule fanbase for Shizuko and Kanou that ships them mostly because they both wear glasses and are the voice of reason for their respective ThoseTwoGuys / ThoseTwoGirls pairs. Seeing how Kanou is bad with aggressive girls together with the revelation that Shizuko apparently has a thing for glasses, maybe this isn't so farfetched after all. Sadly, this was not confirmed at all in the DistantFinale.
* UrbanLegendOfZelda: A rumor surfaced that there will be a continuation of the anime by 2020. Given that the manga finished its serialization in 2010, it's unlikely that Creator/JCStaff will be able to do a new season, as well as their tight schedule, even though fans are still clamoring over it.
* TheWoobie: Poor Hinata. He tries so hard to be more than JustFriends with Misaki.
** Yukimura too, though his predicament is almost always PlayedForLaughs.
