* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic: The soundtrack as a whole holds a handful of nice tracks for those who're into Toku music.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YNWz0D9NE1c The opening theme]] and its instrumental variants. Maybe, the most heroic sounding ''Sentai'' theme ever made.
*** The ''[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e4OdXxm5L_c English]]'' version of the opening. And yes, it's part of the official soundtrack.
** The HeroicResolve theme, "''[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BBy9YnjIPVg Yuuki wo Nakuseba]]''".
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dEAu02MJUbc [=VictoryRobo=]]] and [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zivqHK_eKAs [=GrandLiner=]]]'s themes.
*** [=GrandLiner=] also has a slightly different instrumental version of its theme song. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IZyGyWgjeJ4 Pretty catchy too.]]
** The "Victory March" that kicks in with [[FinishingMove Victory Prominence]]: "''[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UAgw1O0I4R0 Ken yo, hikari wo yobe!]]''". When it starts playing, you automatically know someone's boned.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H5tC0mIPuDw [=VictoryMars=]' theme]], which, despite its alternate mode merely being a crawler for extraterrestrial bodies, sounds like one hell of an epic battle in space!
** Give you 20 bucks if you could not have [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A8rGafoiJjk the ending theme]] make you happy. It's impossible.
* BigLippedAlligatorMoment: Any time the Golem Card appears after its initial arc.
* BizarroEpisode: Episode 45, which has Matoi getting sucked into his siblings' (and Kyoko's) dreams and [[MusicalEpisode multiple image songs being used throughout the episode]].
* CompleteMonster: [[BigBad Grand Witch Grandiene]] is the EvilMatriarch of the Saima Family and the ultimate form of all the minus energy in the universe. After Dark King Salamandes's death, Grandiene takes matters into her own hands and used the evil energies gathered by him and his siblings to complete her revival. Then, in a cruel and cold act, Grandiene sends her own son Beast Baron Cobolda to his death to accomplish her goals; revealing to Dark King Zylpheeza that [[AbusiveParents she never really cared for the well-being of her children]]. After the destruction of her physical body, she [[DemonicPossession possesses]] Zylpheeza and revives Salamandes as a [[EmptyShell soulless]] Destruction God in a final attempt to wipe out humanity. As fitting of the family theme in [=GoGoFive=], Grandiene stands for everything the Tatsumi family bond isn't.
* FanNickname:
** Venus: for Denus whose name came from Undine + Venus, and is similar in appearance to Venus. It even makes sense as Venus is a goddess that was born from waves.
** [[UsefulNotes/KentuckyFriedChicken "Colonel Sanders"]] for Dr. Mondo Tatsumi, due to his uncanny resemblance to said Colonel.
* SugarWiki/FunnyMoments:
** In the first episode, Matoi wakes up to the sight of Mint. His reaction? "That's a really big alarm clock."
** Crossing over with Heartwarming, near the end of their talk show at the 33rd Tokyo International Film Festival, they dragged Noboru Kaneko (Kakeru/Gao Red) (who was there for Nishioka's Youtube channel) to do the roll call with them.
* HarsherInHindsight:
** The Grand Cross event occurs in episode 25, which aired on August 15, 1999, with a natural disaster of supernatural origin occurring in the climax. The 1999 İzmit earthquake, a real-life natural disaster, occurs in Turkey when the actual Grand Cross alignment commences a few days after the episode aired.
** Twice in #48, Matoi says "Mission Complete" when it seemed Grandiene has been killed with her first assumed death revealed that she is still alive and Kaijuu-sized. But Grandiene's second assumed death reveals that her disembodied spirit has enveloped Earth as she instigates an apocalypse event with every intent of expanding herself across the universe. Three years later, President Bush made a similar declaration in 2003 which has become associated with prematurely declaring victory in the middle of a crisis.

* HeartwarmingInHindsight: During the ''[=GoGoFive=]'' 18-year reunion episode on an episode of ''Bakuhou the Friday'', Kenji Shibata (Daimon's actor) revealed that the right side of his body got busted really bad as a result of an inoperable brain tumor. Shibata also said that he saw the main cast as if they were his siblings and doesn't want to let them see him suffering and being scared of dying. In response, Ryuichiro Nishioka (Matoi) told him that they're having a reunion in less than 20 years because "he's not there with them" and "it won't be the [=GoGoFive=] without one of them".
* SugarWiki/HeartwarmingMoments: The cast (plus Kazuki Maehara (Ryouma/Ginga Red), Juri Miyazawa (Saya/Ginga Pink) and Kazuyoshi Sakai (Soutarou/Gao Black)) once again reuniting less than two years later at the [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4p1U0akhDHQ&t=614s 33th Tokyo International Film Festival]] as part of the five-day ''Super Sentai'' commemoration. What makes this sweeter is that even though Atsushi Harada (Shou/Go Green) couldn't join the talk show due to traveling, he still made sure to join them through online means.
* HilariousInHindsight: Might count as HarsherInHindsight too, but in this series Masahi Taniguchi portrays the heroic [=GoBlue=] who opposes the red-colored draconic demon Salamandes voiced by Creator/HikaruMidorikawa, in the 2003 series ''Series/BakuryuuSentaiAbaranger'' (released four years later) it's Taniguchi who portrays a villainous red-colored draconic beast in Trinoid #1: Dragondoran while Midorikawa portrays the anti-heroic [=TopGaler=] [[spoiler:who becomes a hero alongside [=AbareKiller=]]] near the end and even directly opposes Taniguchi's character.
** Episode 21, which introduces Liner Boy, has the [=GoGoFive=] mistake the design for Liner Boy for a potential sixth teammember; a misunderstanding that is eventually cleared up, with their father explicity telling the team they don't need a sixth member. Cue ''Series/PowerRangersLightspeedRescue'', where Liner Boy's counterpart, the Max Solarzord, really is the personal zord of the Power Rangers-exclusive SixthRanger.
* JerkassWoobie: [[spoiler: Zylpheeza is a villainous example. He may a horrible demon, but at the same time he watches his younger sister give her life to revive him, against his will, and has to watch his younger brother die after being forced shoot him by his own mother.]]
* NightmareFuel: The Psyma in general are incredibly creepy. Grandienne is a great example of AbusiveParents, while also flashing a NightmareFace in a TheFourthWallWillNotProtectYou scene in the 24th episode. Zylpheeza looks like Satan. Salamandes is psychotic as hell. The MonstersOfTheWeek are also terrible, usually treating humans like crap.
* OlderThanTheyThink: Believe it or not, this was the first series to have a movie-exclusive [[SixthRanger extra hero]] - although it wasn't until ''Series/ZyudenSentaiKyoryuger'' that the idea caught on[[note]]While ''Series/TokumeiSentaiGobusters'' did have a similar idea with the V-Cinema for that series, ''Kyoryuger'' was the first one to have an extra ranger for the main team[[/note]].
* RetroactiveRecognition:
** Masashi Taniguchi would later go on to portray two different Franchise/{{Kamen Rider}}s ([[Series/KamenRiderAmazons Jin Takayama/Kamen Rider Amazon Alpha]] and [[Series/KamenRiderSaber Bahato/Kamen Rider Falchion]]) and an [[Series/UltramanDecker Ultraman]].
** Atsushi Harada would later go on to portray a Kamen Rider himself, being the fourth user of the [[Series/KamenRider555 Delta Driver]] that is.
* TheWoobie: Erika, a little girl who appeared in episode 17. She liked Matoi and did a lot for him, from washing his clothes to making dinner for the whole family. Matoi had to be harsh with her so as not to be endangered, which is kind of understandable. Her reaction, however, was totally heartbreaking.
* SugarWiki/VisualEffectsOfAwesome: It's not even that complicated of an effect, but seeing the Grandliner ''tower'' over a couple of Psyma [=MOTW=]'s is... satisfying.
* {{Woolseyism}}: The name of the villains, the Psyma, is literally a combination of "disaster" and "demon." The Imagination Station subs adapt it as "Catastrophiend."
