* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic: The show’s OP is a suitably dramatic piece for a space opera.
* AngstWhatAngst: In episode 25, Jin Dogma ''blow up a passenger jet,'' something that should be seen as a national tragedy and have the whole country out for their blood. It's treated as no worse than their usual plots.
* CommonKnowledge: Many people believe the LighterAndSofter retool ''Super-1'' underwent to be the cause of its declining ratings in the second half. In fact, it was due to a network and time slot change caused by the TV station ''Super-1'' was airing on undergoing massive reorganization. Ironically, said time slot change is actually what led to ''Super-1'' becoming lighter, as it led to ''Super-1'' being moved to a time slot where more young children were likely to watch.
* EvenBetterSequel: At the time it was airing, ''Super-1'' was considered this to ''[[Series/KamenRiderSkyrider Skyrider]]''. While ''Skyrider'' is still well-liked, ''Super-1'' was very popular for the titular Rider's sleek design and cool abilities, and for the dark and serious plots of many episodes. Even though it got LighterAndSofter in its second half, ''Super-1'' continues to be well-regarded as a show.
* HilariousInHindsight: #41 features a zoo which is home to a lion named ''[[GratuitousEnglish Lucky]]''. Years later, a lion-themed warrior from the Leo constellation named Lucky features as the Red Ranger of the 2017 space-themed ''Franchise/SuperSentai'' series ''Series/UchuSentaiKyuranger''.
* NightmareFuel: In #40, the evil plot du jour? ''Evil soap!'' You'll laugh until you find out ''what it does.'' At one point we're treated to the sight of ''a five-year-old'' getting [[spoiler: melted and washed down the drain as a pulsating blob of red goo even as we still hear his voice begging for help.]] Now, obviously, since it's [[spoiler: Masaru, he's ''going'' to get better, but that ''so'' doesn't help at the time.]]
* OvershadowedByControversy: Nowadays when the show is discussed, people tend to bring up how Shunsuke Takasugi used his role as the lead character to scam 50 million yen (about US $450,000) by claiming yakuza had stolen his Super-1 henshin belt prop and he needed money to get it back. He went on to not appear in court and has been missing and on the run ever since.
* PopularityPolynomial: The network change ''Super-1'' made midway through led to a lot of rural viewers missing out on ''Super-1'''s second half. As such, most of them ended up believing that the "Dogma arc" was the entire show and that the series ends with Super-1's FinalBattle with the Dogma Kingdom. That the supposed final episode ends on a {{cliffhanger}} showing [[StandardEvilOrganizationSquad a whole host of new villains]] must have been quite befuddling to them.
* SpecialEffectsFailure: Most of the show holds up pretty well, but some of the fight scenes have Kazuya throwing around some really obvious dummies.
* SugarWiki/VisualEffectsOfAwesome: This show easily had the biggest, fieriest monster explosions in toku history.
