1* BrokenBase: Whether the ending was fitting and made sense for the story, or was a rushed copout seems to be a source of contention among fans. [[spoiler: The fact that after everything, [[DidNotGetTheGirl Mari and Yori didn't ultimately end up together]] seems to be a particular sore spot for the ending's detractors.]]
2* EpilepticTrees: Many, if not most, of the fandom is under the impression it's not truly a bodyswap manga: Mari just has psychological issues, most likely dissociative identity disorder. The common consensus was that it was brought on by ParentalIncest, though after the reveal [[spoiler:that Mari's mom was abusive to Mari in the past]] fans began considering that the trigger. Considering the mangaka's other works the theory isn't too outlandish. [[spoiler:Later confirmed]].
3* HarsherInHindsight: A few of the extras in tankoubons have Oshimi explain the inspiration for this story was born from his struggles with masculinity, his desire to learn more about the "other half" of the world despite feeling [[MarsAndVenusGenderContrast they're too different]], and a long-held need to become a girl despite that. ''Manga/WelcomeBackAlice'', one of his later manga, explores that theme in more excruciating detail.
4* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodPlot: The earlier chapters focus on Isao's GenderBenderAngst and general existential dread at his situation. [[spoiler:The revelation that this "Isao" is just Mari's split personality]] effectively renders all of it irrelevant and unresolved.
