* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic: Final Fight. 4 straight minutes of orchestral epicness.
* BestBossEver: Discordred is definitely one of the more cinematic bosses out there. It's a giant angry robot steamboat that attacks with a barrage of cannon shots, whom you must chase down a river and over a waterfall, before it turns around and faces you head-on in the sea, all while listening to a banging orchestral soundtrack.
* BreatherLevel: Octarina's dance levels in Calypso Beach, and the Cymbi-Cart levels.
* CommonKnowledge: Gargan is sometimes stated to be the "Noize King", despite him never being referred to as the title in-game. This likely stems from him corrupting Princess Ariana and turning her into the "Noize Queen".
* FridgeBrilliance: There are playable characters who use Percussion instruments and String Insrtuments, but why no Wind instruments? Because you're already playing as him most of the time.
** In the final boss battle, Tempo jumps off a cliff into a massive crater filled with lava, and is saved by a bird before he dies. He does jump off to what would be his apparent doom, but he has to jump or else he dies. That implies that despite his reaction, he had planned to land on the bird all along.
* GameBreaker: The ability to go back and replay levels, just to gain extra hearts. Not a major one, but it can be exploited to the player's advantage, particularly if you're really struggling in the later levels. Granted, it will only allow you to collect up to 8 hearts, but that's enough to see you through some of the more difficult levels.
* IAmNotShazam: Tempo is referred to as "[the] [=HarmoKnight=]" from people who aren't familiar with the game.
* {{Narm}}: Its tough to catch, but in the sequence before Discordred's boss fight, Tempo goes up to the side of the ship monster, and the face on the back looks at him. The face on the rear end of the ship is reflected, so while one eye on one end of the face looks at tempo, the other one looks the opposite way on the edge of the screen, effectively making an angry derp face.
* {{Squick}}: Otamama's attacks. It forces out its eggs (sometimes its fully formed ''babies'') in hopes of taking you down.
** And then you proceed to smack its babies back at its rear...
* ThatOneAttack: Every boss has at least one attack that [[OneHitKill causes you to lose instantly if you mess it up.]] Out of them though, Buzzooka's is particularly brutal. (It's a sequence of 5 rapid button presses that have to be done with near-perfect timing, and what's worse is that it's the ''last'' hit of the fight)
* ThatOneBoss: Buzzooka is this due to it being hard to hit the enemies he fires out,the canyon section involving [[ScrappyMechanic the use of the D-pad]] and being a long battle. The fact that it was the boss in the Demo doesn't help nor the fact that the FinalBoss is nasty in this regard as well.
* ThatOneLevel: Clockwork Trial. The music's speed shifts erratically, and it occurs during action-intensive parts, meaning you'll have to adjust while already playing to the beat. Doing it on fast makes it ridiculous.
