* ActorShipping: There is apparently some fandom for Joanna and Brent (Emma and Alex). [[http://instagram.com/p/idES6rBCT2/ Brent even tagged a photo from Episode 24 with Brentanna.]] The actors actually dated for a while.
* {{Adorkable}}:
** Alex Knightley. As seen in the question and answer videos, when he starts squeeing about his favourite Excel function and then there's his 'wruff wruff' impression when he says he's a dog person... So darn cute and such a dork.
** Harriet is adorably dorky and the audience loves her. She starts out as an adorable klutz who idolizes Emma. Emma resolves to train her out of it, and Harriet in later episodes is more polished and professional, but her dorky personality doesn't totally vanish.
** Robert Martin. He's implied to be quite a big nerd and his status as an IT guy in Emma's company also puts him in the dork category, and he's very awkward and dorky when interacting with Harriet, his LoveInterest. Many fans like him for his dorkiness and ship him with Harriet.
%% * AwesomeEgo: Emma. After episode 7.
* FridgeBrilliance: The reason Emma is so sure Elton/Harriet will work, despite their different social positions? The ''last'' match she made - between Ryan (CEO) and Annie (pastry chef) - was also a [[{{UptownGirl}} Uptown Boy]] pairing. So she doesn't see how setting up a politician and personal assistant will be a problem. Of course, the fact that Ryan is a much nicer, more down-to-earth guy than Elton, and Annie is a lot more self-confident than Harriet but they ''still'' almost split up because of Annie's nervousness should have tipped off Emma to the difficulties involved...
* HoYay: Here's a [[http://notrationallytrue.tumblr.com/post/80647066406/my-thought-process-during-benefiting-the-greater-good Tumblr post]] shipping Alex and Frank.
* MisaimedFandom:
** Despite the fact that Emma's actions during the Boxx storyline were deplorable, there are fans who are instead angry at Jane and Maddie for the debacle. Jane is blamed for being introverted and acting "unprofessionally" when she quit after the party. And Maddie is blamed for being "opportunistic" just for the mere fact that she was kept out of the loop about how undesirable her jams were (and after being approved by ''Emma herself'' to put them in gift baskets).
** Going a step further is Alex and the "badly done, Emma" sequence. He's getting a lot of hate from fans for simply yelling at Emma and walking away from her while she was crying instead of comforting her, in spite of everything she had done.
%% * SmallNameBigEgo: Emma seems this prior to episode 7.
* {{Tearjerker}}:
** Episode 24. Emma and James Elton fight and he fires her and tells her she's a terrible matchmaker. When Alex comes in, she's desperately trying to hide her tears before she tells Alex she failed.
** In episode 64, Emma is left openly weeping after both Jane and Alex tell her off and quit, and she ends up begging Harriet not to leave her. Harriet promptly turns off the camera.
* UnexpectedCharacter:
** Caroline Lee. Most fans of ''Emma Approved'' know her because she's from ''The Lizzie Bennet Diaries'' which majority of the fandom also watched. She's already a CompositeCharacter in ''Lizzie Bennet'' and now she takes the place of Augusta Hawkins who is Philip Elton's obnoxious fiancée/wife.
** Even more unexpected was Ricky Collins in the revival. While Caroline's appearance did establish that ''Emma Approved'' and ''The Lizzie Bennet Diaries'' take place in the same universe, Mr. Collins was one of the last characters you'd expect crossing over, much less that he'd get such a large role.
