* AccidentalInnuendo: "I've been brought down to my knees/And I've been pushed way past the point of breakin/But I can take it.."
* AlternativeCharacterInterpretation: Are Tess and Ali the heroines of the film, trying to save their club from a developer who wants to tear it down for apartments? Or is Ali just a Manipulative Bitch In Sheep's Clothing who takes advantage of those around her, including Tess, who lacks any sort of business sense, to wrestle control of a club from both Tess and Marcus, a developer who simply wants to better utilize the property than a run-down, high-maintenance club? Is Nikki jealous of Ali because they both want Marcus, or because she wants to be with her?
* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic: As much of a ClicheStorm as the movie itself may be, the soundtrack is actually pretty good, with standouts including "Welcome to Burlesque", "Express", "Show Me How You Burlesque" and Christina's cover of "Something's Got a Hold On Me".
* ClicheStorm: To the extent that WebVideo/MusicalHell's review consisted of ticking off the list of cliches the film uses.
* SugarWiki/HeartwarmingMoments: Sean cheering up a depressed Tess by telling her "lies" playfully. "Please, just tell me a lie." "You need new drapes?""Tell me another lie." "I don't love you." Then he gives her a CoolDownHug.
* EnsembleDarkhorse:
** Sean and Nikki
** Music/ChristinaAguilera in a meta sense. She far exceeded the expectations of her and was almost universally called the best part of the movie.
* HoYay:
** The AmbiguouslyGay DJ, Sean and Coco shared attraction at Georgia's wedding.
** Jack cheering the Dj for playing a certain song at Georgia's wedding.
* LesYay: So much between the characters in the film, and considering it all takes place in a burlesque...
** Ali and dancer Coco sharing a LongingLook outside the burlesque building before Sean calls for Coco to go onstage to dance.
** The female dancers tangoing together during "Welcome To Burlesque".
** Ali's looks of adoration towards the dancers comes off as slightly possible attraction to them, as well as the dancers "come hither" gestures towards Ali.
** Some of the dancers suggestive poses together with dental equipment during the song "Dr. Long John".
** A lot of tension in the rivalry between Ali and Nikki comes off as this. The first time Ali sees Nikki, she is so mesmerized by her beauty that she just can't stop staring and calling her "beautiful". Then she follows it up by mistaking her for a drag queen and Nikki gets pissed. Later scenes would show Nikki telling Ali "don't touch my stuff" and Ali continues to do so with a possible flirtation tone in her voice and then a jealous Nikki looking at Ali perform the shows as she watches from the sidelines. The final scenes shows them brushing their hair and exchanging long glances over at one another... before somebody attempts to use Nikki's hairbrush, killing the moment.
* SignatureScene: The Music/Cher solo, Cher and Christina in the trailer, the opening at the bar, Nikki giving make-up advice, or .
* Squick: They share makeup brushes!
* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodCharacter: Sure, Creator/KristenBell is no Christina, but she can hold her own. It would have been nice to hear her sing, as proven by WesternAnimation/Frozen2013. Also, her old favourite co-star from many things, Creator/DiannaAgron, is with her again and can sing a little, too.
