* CompleteMonster: The SerialKiller known only as "The Laugh" vivisected a rat as a child to show to three girls and began plotting murderous revenge on them simply because they were disgusted. Kidnapping one of the girls, Shelby, the Laugh begins killing people around her. Disguising himself as a clown, the Laugh tries to murder Shelby; another of the girls, Tabitha; and the daughter of a man he had already killed. Kidnapping the roommate of Lisa, the last of the three girls, the Laugh murders Lisa's boyfriend when they go to investigate and captures Lisa. Psychologically tormenting the three captive girls, the Laugh tries to dissect Shelby before killing Lisa.
* FountainOfMemes: Tabitha's over-the-top acting and bizarre facial expressions make for some of the most irritatingly entertaining/hilarious moments in the movie. Not to mention how utterly horrible she is at doing everything, particularly sandwiches.
* Narm: Tabitha's BondOneLiner was likely meant to come off as cool. One will only groan.
-->Tabitha: Now, that was funny.
** There's a part where the Wilhelm scream makes an appearance, followed immediately by a JumpScare.
** The characters grasp the IdiotBall so hard that their actions veer into this territory.
** Tabitha is incapacitated in a shed, and the Laugh slowly moves in on her, clearly to harm her... but in the next scene, she's shown alive and well, almost like the Laugh got bored (or was satisfied with where she was at) and just left the scene.
* NightmareFuel: When the killer was young, he created a shoebox diorama where he has a rat with its chest cut open and held open by fishhooks. Keep in mind, the rat is still alive during this whole thing and is in excruciating pain.
** There is actually a pretty terrifying scene (that gets ruined after a few moments but-) in which Tabitha tells her boss that she doesn't like the life-sized clown in the guest room she's sleeping in... only for the Clown to approach her while she's told there is no Clown like the one she'd describing.
