* AlternativeCharacterInterpretation:
** Is the protagonist just a walking stereotype of rural Finland with his excessive drinking, or trying to drown out the fact that his family basically left him? Not a lot of backstory really exists (yet), so it's largely up to the player's interpretation of what really happened.
** Is Suski's child actually his, or did she just make him take responsibility for it since the baby's real father is dead?
* BigLippedAlligatorMoment: When the player wins the remote cabin of a card dealer[[note]]who suspiciously has pig hooves for hands and feet[[/note]] in a game of cards. The card dealer flips the table in typical fashion...[[spoiler:then proceeds to squeal and walk on all fours like a pig.]]
** The same thing happens when the player proceeds to set the house that they lost to the card dealer on fire while the card dealer is chilling on the living room sofa.
* CrossesTheLineTwice:
** The game allows you to [[DisproportionateRetribution send Jani, an annoying racer who does nothing but taunt you, flying by ramming him on the driver's side door, killing him in the process.]] You can then walk up to the wreckage and see his [[BloodyHilarious corpse and blood splattered all over the cockpit,]] [[FlippingTheBird give him the middle finger]] and telling him off while [[UrineTrouble pissing all over his dead body]], and then finish the act by [[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking throwing a bottle of beer at him.]]
** By that extension, most of the game's humor derives from this. Another mission calls for you, the player, to take a septic truck full of shit, and ''dump it all over said racer's car.'' Needless to say, this game sometimes revels in [[ToiletHumor toilet humor]].
* DoNotDoThisCoolThing: A hilarious subversion: drunk driving is "encouraged" (as to keep the Thirst meter down and because you can carry the entire beer case with you and take a drink whenever necessary, as opposed to non-alcoholic drinks that only come in single cartons/jugs and are likewise emptied in a single swig, or because they only come from static sources you can't carry around like water from taps), but the [[TheAlcoholic inevitable]] [[InterfaceScrew side-effects]] [[UnexpectedlyRealisticGameplay seriously impair driving ability]], and oftentimes lead to crashing into a tree.
* EnsembleDarkhorse: The green techno car (often nicknamed Techno Viking, Green Perkele or Green Devil) that has a tendency to run you off the road became a fan favorite, and when it was removed in a recent update, [[SavedByTheFans the outcry of the fans quickly brought it back]].
* FanNickname:
** The infamous green car who speeds down the roads blaring loud techno music is often called "Techno Viking," "Green Devil," "Green Menace," "Thump-Thump Car" or "Wub-Wub Car."
** Jani is often called "Yellow X" because of his bright yellow car, the second word is usually something insulting. Common ones are; "Yellow Perkele," "Yellow Asshole," "Yellow Idiot" or "Yellow Bastard." Another popular nickname is "[=StatusD=]" (after the VA's online handle).
** The drunk driver in the little green car is "Mr. Hitler," named after a character from a Finnish reality show.
** Jokke is often simply called "Drunk Man," "Drunk Guy" or "Kilju Guy."
** The human/pig hybrid you play cards with is "Pig Man" or "Satan/Saatana."
** Players who get frustrated with their [[TheAllegedCar Satsuma]] not running or working properly will often call it the "Shitsuma."
* ForbiddenFruit: The only clue you get about certain gameplay elements is via your grandmother warning against them; such as hitching a ride with your alcoholic cousin, or engaging in underground gambling against a shady individual.
* FridgeHorror:
** An in-game note left by the parents (in Finnish, of course), states that they left for vacation in Tenerife, and say they'll be back when "Tenerife gets boring." Given the premise, and such an arbitrary timeframe, [[AbusiveParents it's likely that they decided on a whim to leave, without warning, and without a care of their son's welfare]] aside from a brief bit where they tell him not to drink alcohol.
** The actual (Finnish) text of the letter is worded more like the situation has been discussed prior, and the letter is merely reminding the player of their responsibilities. Your grandmother also mentions that your parents have always been free spirits prone to spontaneous overseas trips. She also considers it a good thing you've been entrusted with jobs, as opposed to the other unemployed youths around town who are largely left to their own devices.
* MemeticMutation: ''[[ForeignCussWord "Perkele!"]]''
** Thanks to Website/YouTube user Mark Hates Kittens, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cfBkN4vCcq0&feature=youtu.be&t=36 Teimo's "Haista vittu!" has become this]].
** The "Techno Viking" itself, specially when associated with "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2XyK9-AmJ5U Mustamies]]," [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UiwtptB-qlg including it's earlier rendition]].
* {{Narm}}: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XnPiQnkO8eM The death screams]], especially the bit where it sounds like the VA is trying not to laugh.
* ReplacementScrappy: Jani was this when he debuted for replacing the [[EnsembleDarkhorse fan-favorite]] "Techno Viking." Fan reactions later resulted in the latter returning. Jani still isn't very well liked but that is mostly [[HateSink deliberate]].
* PlayerPunch: [[spoiler:When Jokke is DrivenToSuicide after you steal his BriefcaseFullOfMoney and knock him out when he invades ''your home with an axe''. It's a stark contrast to the much more comical and lighthearted moments, especially because you've done a lot of business with him and even drove him home at least five times prior (which you have to do so he trusts you enough to even reveal the existence of that money you stole).]]
* ScrappyMechanic: Pitch black nights at the homestead lead to some frustration; deaths from starvation, thirst and/or fatigue are highly unlikely in [[RealLife a real life home]] in the middle of the night. The dev apparently forgot to take into account that while the human eye can't adjust perfectly to total darkness, you'd still be able to find a light switch via tactile senses. Or better yet, just sleep on the floor immediately available.
* TheScrappy: [[HateSink Jani]], for replacing the "[[EnsembleDarkhorse Techno Viking]]" in his debut, [[IShallTauntYou constantly insulting the player]] and [[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking ramming the Satsuma in order to rile him/her up]].
** TakeThatScrappy: Fortunately, it's possible to kill Jani or watch him being involved in a fatal car crash. [[AssholeVictim And good riddance too!]]
* TearJerker: Since most of the time, new players are too busy killing themselves (accidentally or intentionally), imagine the parents returning home, only to [[OutlivingOnesOffspring find their son dead]] in a drunk driving accident, and an either have a [[MyGodWhatHaveIDone horrified reaction,]] [[AbusiveParents or a largely indifferent response.]] While mostly [[PlayedForLaughs played for laughs,]] it's a game that probably shouldn't be taken too seriously when one's own real parents are away on a vacation.
** [[FridgeHorror Considering that]], [[JerkassWoobie it's no wonder why he drinks so much alcohol and swears so often.]]
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AHdd65cuAIE Routainen Maa]], or the death theme has lyrics (when translated into English, assuming it references the family) [[SoundtrackDissonance that doesn't portray a very positive outlook for them,]] and seems to represent the protagonist accepting his role as the family's [[ButtMonkey butt monkey]].
** As of a recent update, it is now possible to die from stress.
