Todd hadn't dated Emily for years, and it quickly becomes clear that they aren't compatible because [[UsefulNotes/{{Asexuality}} he could never be attracted to her sexually]], so Todd comes across as unusually possessive, especially since he doesn't seem to get mad at Emily at all or consider that she could have a consensual relationship with [=BoJack=]. Todd even admits in Season 4 that the Emily incident was more the straw that broke the camel's back, possibly serving as an AuthorsSavingThrow. |
