[[folder:A]]
* AccidentalAesop: While the initial intent behind the HAACHAMA×Akaihaato arc will be known only to her, several fans have interpreted the whole arc as a metaphor for self love and accepting all sides of one's self, as Akai Haato struggled to deal with her more crazy side of herself, and vice-versa with Haachama, before they eventually learned to coexist.
* AccidentalInnuendo: Bae often unintentionally says something questionable without realizing until chat explains to her afterwards. On occasion, chat even tricks her into saying it. [=IRyS=] has the same issue by saying the most mundane things in the most unwholesome way, by complete accident, earning her the nickname of [=YabaiRyS=].
* {{Adorkable}}:
** Marine Houshou is a PirateGirl ([[ThePiratesWhoDontDoAnything who's barely a pirate girl]]) known for her [[SucksAtDancing awkward attempts at dancing]], general lack of stamina, and LovableSexManiac tendencies. All these and more alongside her giddy enthusiasm are why she is beloved by fans.
** Towa Tokoyami. From vocalizing a [[https://youtu.be/QbA_0h0c34Q variety]] [[https://youtu.be/wfBs_co_IgU of]] [[https://youtu.be/fqtwnjVcfIY noises]] that are only comprehensible half the time, to her more [[https://youtu.be/YJpMQFm5Oco childlike curiosity]], she's regarded as endearingly cute by many fans.
** Nene Momosuzu is a very sweet and very strange girl who wears her influences on her sleeve and never hesitates to be fully herself. She's been part of a 3D collab as a 2D cutout, uses [[StylisticSuck poorly-drawn hands]] to superimpose over her model for different things like riding rollercoasters or drinking, has given herself [[TryToFitThatOnABusinessCard way too many titles]], and is a shameless FanGirl of [[KidCom "mature romantic dramas"]] like ''Series/DrakeAndJosh'' and ''Series/HannahMontana''.
** Calliope Mori swings between confident and panicky at the drop of the hat, usually sitting somewhere in between by being incredibly self-deprecating, laughing at dumb jokes she makes herself, as well as having a penchant for unusual musical instruments and sounds that she tries to use as samples for her music. She is also incredibly awkward around Kiara whenever she gets particularly flirty. Even Calli's attempts to [[{{Kayfabe}} maintain character]] apply, as it consists of hamfistedly putting "reaper" before normal terms and playing off her part of Hell as being close to Japan.
** Shien Kageyama, despite claiming to be a tough mafia boss, doesn't do a very good job at cementing it. Some of his antics include:
*** Accidentally getting locked out of his Platform/{{Twitter}} account (due to putting his birth year as 2020).
*** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0-BOu1Ld5Nc Getting turned into a muffin on stream.]]
*** Being too into fishing in ''Animal Crossing'' to the point he remained streaming during '''Tokino Sora’s 3rd anniversary stream''' whereas everyone else left the spotlight for her.
*** His liberal abuse of the echo effect, from amplifying a sneeze to yelling random things with it on.
*** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DLbG52hB0XI Clearing Eight Note using only animal sounds.]]
*** [[https://youtu.be/JXKMEhpaJQM?t=3656 Getting depressed]] after breaking a bottle of sunflower oil, as well as the television prior during Cooking Simulator.
*** His ability to turn anything and literally ''anything'' into {{fanservice}} or NSFW because of his tendency to make suggestive noises. Check out [[https://youtu.be/fEV3FtDjo3A the legendary Slither.io stream]] for proof, and of course, with earphones on.
** Tenma Kishido's first attempt at doing ASMR has shades of this, with him zig-zagging between being pretty good and then doing random things and laughing, to the amused confusion of his viewers.
** Pavolia Reine would like to present herself as a cool older sister-type but quickly shows herself to be an easily excitable and teasable dork. Fans like to say about her that she has the mind of a small child in an adult body.
** Tsukumo Sana is generally very bubbly and excitable already, but also gets very excited when she gets to talk about astrophysics, taking her GenkiGirl tendencies to a whole new level when she can geek out to her chat or genmates if the opportunity arises.
** Ouro Kronii projects an air of cool confidence, but the second she [[DidntSeeThatComing gets caught off guard]] she's often reduced to a stammering mess as she desperately tries to regain control of the situation. A number of her genmates have admitted to [[{{Troll}} trying to fluster her on purpose]] to get a rise out of her.
** While all members of TEMPUS have been hit with this trope to some extent, the crown goes to Noir Vesper, who quickly endeared himself to his viewers for his combination of engaging storytelling, knowledge of older memes and trends, and his general excitability over his job [[NotSoStoic despite being portrayed as the serious member of the TEMPUS crew.]] These factors combined with his TeamDad mannerisms have led fans to lovingly referred to him as "Grampire".
** Shiori Novella is practically this trope's patron saint, being an introverted and nerdy PerkyGoth who [[CuteBookworm can go on for hours about books she loves]] and used to play with dead flies when she was a child because she had no friends.
* AlternateCharacterInterpretation: The entire HAACHAMA×Akaihaato storyline led to many speculative interpretation of the events, which brings with it different views of Haato and Haachama, both morally and mentally. For example: TheReveal [[spoiler:of Haachama being DeadAllAlong back when they were both young. Is she [[TwoSiblingsInOne living on through Haato]] after dying, or is she just a SplitPersonality born as a result of [[ReplacementGoldfish Haato refusing to move on from losing her sibling?]]]]
* AmericansHateTingle: A sizable portion of the Chinese fanbase turned away from ''hololive'' after an incident back in September 2020 where both Coco and Haato mentioned Taiwan in one of their streams (see the Trivia entry for details). This resulted in their Bilibili accounts getting banned, and the vitriol in the subsequent months, including unsatisfaction at Coco's return from her suspension, led to the dissolution of that entire branch. In fact, as of 2022 the hate is so strong that it cost them one business opportunity involving ASUS. [[note]]Fubuki was supposed to promote the ASUS hardware until the Chinese ASUS Community Manager warned the company about Coco, using her as an example to justify the vilification of ''hololive'' in mainland China.[[/note]]
* AndYouThoughtItWouldFail:
** The idea of "hololive English" was mocked in some fan forums by people wondering why viewers in English-speaking countries would bother to watch new streamers rather than anyone in the gigantic existing Twitch and [=YouTube=] streaming world, with many predicting it would never happen. Once Hololive EN launched, it became a gigantic success; not only did it attract a huge amount of English-speaking viewers, but it also gained a lot of Japanese language-only viewers in much the same way that the non-English branches do. Their combined first day of monetization made nearly a hundred thousand American dollars in superchats alone.
** Even before their announcement, the concept of holostars English came under fire from almost every direction. Supporters of the JP stars expressed worry over the English talents fragmenting their existing overseas fanbase between them or of the newbies being generally ignorant of their senpais in favor of the hololive side. Detractors of the stars wanted hololive English to maintain its Cute Girls Doing Cute Things status and feared of applicants only signing up to try and get close to their favorite member. People neutral to the stars thought any self-respecting male streamer would join Nijisanji English instead considering the success of their male talents in the Luxiem and Noctyx waves as well as a fanbase that welcomed them, rather than deal with the same sort of [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vv74pMZTLPk vitriol Miyabi had faced as the first holostar]]; not helping matters was Cover announcing open auditions for male English talents mere hours after Nijisanji opened their auditions for a mixed-gender English wave[[note]]The permanent auditions for hololive English that opened three months prior in December 2021 actually did accept male applicants as [[https://old.reddit.com/r/Hololive/comments/rrvc1t/we_have_opened_a_permanent_english_language/hqip93p/ T-chan confirmed]], so the need for a reminder/clarification and the timing of it led to raised eyebrows and further doomsaying.[[/note]]. Once TEMPUS ''was'' announced, they immediately faced derision over their models and were compared to [=NijiEN=]'s ILUNA wave who were not only announced during the same week, but were debuting the night after the second of TEMPUS' two debut nights. Despite all of that, the boys were met with roaring approval upon debuting with each of them attaining 100k subscribers within their first week and surpassing all the expectations set for holostars.
* AngstWhatAngst:
** Astel Leda who despite having lost his ship, his crew and what memories he has of his past life, has been taking all of it in stride in his duties as a Holostar idol.
** Kageyama Shien originally traveled to our world to find his lost friend, but then apparently he gets too into streaming to remember how he’s supposed to be angsty because of his friend’s disappearance.
** Mumei Nanashi is a cheerful sort who always looks on the bright side of things, despite having lived a life full of loneliness that has caused her to lose much of her memory, including her original name.
* AnimationAgeGhetto: The debut of hololive EN brought about some controversy with some streamers over the ReallySevenHundredYearsOld characters that appear child-like (e.g. Gawr Gura) or hololive [[WhatDoYouMeanItsNotForKids failing to label itself as a kids' show]], mirroring much of the same misplaced "controversies" the anime medium at large often finds itself dealing with.
* ArchivePanic: With over 50 performers with near daily streams lasting several hours, dozens of dedicated clippers, and a cast that keeps growing as more generations get added, it is impossible to keep up-to-date with every single talent. Even getting caught up on just one talent can take an incredibly long time. There's a reason why many fans refer to the process of discovering hololive as "going down the rabbit hole".
* SugarWiki/AwesomeArt: Everyone in holopro is this to a degree but there are a few stand out examples:
** The talents who were animated by Keffiy [[note]]Aki Rosenthal, Watame Tsunomaki, Omaru Polka, Kiara Takanashi, Kureiji Ollie, and Ouro Kronii[[/note]] are the bounciest and most animated avatars among hololive. Their range of movement compliment their personalities very well.
** On the other end of the spectrum, Botan Shishiro and Pavolia Reine, animated by tou_ilie, have much more relaxed movement but they are notable for having very expressive mouth movement.
** Sakura Miko's new 3D model is a significant improvement over her old model (which was really good in its own right). It comes with distinct facial expressions but what really sets Miko above the other home 3D setups is she is the only one with proper eye tracking.
** Roberu Yukoku is an interesting case among Vtubers as a whole, as his avatar isn't rendered to have soft shading. Instead his avatar is rendered with distinct brush strokes and directional lighting, making him more of a beautiful painting brought to life through live2d.
* AwesomeEgo:
** Calliope Mori. When she raps, all self-consciousness vanishes underneath an arrogantly smug badass that is ''very'' proud of being a Reaper--or as she puts it, a "workaholic business lady gettin’ shit done.”
---> '''"DEAD BEATS" lyrics:''' We'll lock it down / So when you bitches need me, call / [[BadassBoast I'll make them never wish they never lived at all (I'll fuck 'em up, Gucci!)]]
** Kronii preaches herself as the definition of perfection, and will pray for no one but herself. While her viewers simp her hard, she simps herself ''harder''.

[[folder:C-D]]
* CommonKnowledge:
** A rather persistent narrative that cropped up following the "Taiwan Incident" was that Coco's showing of her channel analytics for the September 25, 2020 edition of ''Asacoco'', just hours after Haato had showed her's, was her way to DrawAggro from the pro-CCP antis that were harassing the latter. This was unfortunately a narrative spun up by Coco's existing pro-CCP antis at the time, as she had a sizeable hatedom in the mainland due to her being American-born Japanese, for the express purpose of justifying further villification of her and Hololive in general. Coco had been asleep at the time of Haato's stream and, if her reaction to that morning's ''Asacoco'' archive being privated is to go by[[note]]She was informed by the chat of this, [[https://streamable.com/10ixnx while in the middle of an unarchived English-only karaoke stream on the afternoon of the 25th]][[/note]], completely unaware of what Haato had done the night before. Furthermore, the reason she was even bringing up the analytics in the first place was in response to [[https://bunshun.jp/articles/-/40372 an article]] by ''Bunshun Online'', which talked about the success of [=Vtubers=], but described them and their audiences as 'Japanese'. Coco brought up her stats to show that her viewership was actually pretty varied (only 50% Japanese, with the US and Taiwan taking the top 2 spots for non-JP viewership).
** It's a well-established "fact" in gossip surrounding the talents that Kanata's relationship with her mother is very strained if not outright hostile. [[https://www.reddit.com/r/Hololive/comments/q8p8f7/misconceptions_about_kanatas_mom_sayuri/ An analysis of the relevant clips]] indicates, however, that this is at the very least an [[AccentuateTheNegative exaggerated interpretation]] of her public statements, with the belief caused by clippers trying to SpiceUpTheSubtitles to dramatize more mundane misunderstandings between the two.
* CoveredUp:
** Suisei and the 3rd gen's [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-wNSFmqhQsU cover of "Saga Jihen"]] from ''Anime/ZombieLandSaga'' has more views and comments than the [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VRt_i5FI9-o original music video]]. This led to the hololive version appearing first on the search results for "Saga Jihen", and also made viewers think that Suisei's version is the original when it's actually a cover.
** The same can be said with her duet cover with Sora with [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5yDNEmcKQFY "Hanamuke no Tori"]] by D/ZEAL is also this, as it was from ''VideoGame/TheIdolmasterMillionLive''. Fans thought it was a Suisei original when it was actually by D/ZEAL. Just like Saga Jihen, both versions of the cover (the solo version being Members only) have more views than the original.
** Ditto with Towa's [[https://youtu.be/2D0B3wTjE20 "brilliant"]], which has a lot more views and comments than the [[https://youtu.be/RboUC86iVWw original]] by Music/{{VOCALOID}} producer niki with Lily. Search the song on Platform/YouTube, and viewers will find Towa's version being almost as relevant as the original as though it were a Towa original even though it's actually a cover.
** Double with [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3UV8OZj2olg Towa's cover]] of niki's [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jvoW9lJdirk Error]]. Fans were unaware that Error was in fact not an original song. Although it does help Towa's powerful singing voice when she performs the cover.
** Sora's cover of [=NayutalieN's=][[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NT6Pf28eCgQ "Alien Alien"]] and [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wHw3jSvZxNI "Solar System Disco"]], unsurprisingly, get more views than the respective originals. This helps because of the colorful and more animated MV combined with Sora's VOCALOID-like voice for both covers.
** Botan's [[https://youtu.be/o14s6S0k5qw "Will"]] by [=MeltyCat=] from her 3D debut. Though the two songs were uploaded exactly within 1 day, Botan's version gets more views due to her soft and cute voice when fans expected her to sing in a more mature voice.
** Okayu's [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9PYi1080Q7k Shitsuraku Petri]] by Nanahoshi Kangengakudan gets double the views of the original song thanks to her smooth singing voice.
** Suisei and [[Characters/Nijisanji2019 Toko Inui]]'s duet cover of ''VideoGame/EnsembleStars''[='=]s "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vhmFj1owmuk Tonight in this Moonlit Mansion]]" gained over triple the number of views compared to Happy Elements' official MV, and is the top result when searching for the song. Being released for the occasion of Halloween, which the song is inspired by, greatly helped in this regard.
** Matsuri's [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MNcnT8wBcdw "Kokoronashi"]] gets more views than the original due to Matsuri's emotion behind her vocals.
** Okayu's [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gFVC0p4lknw&t=0s "Cat Eye Makeup"]] gets numerous views faster than the original thanks to her smooth vocals and the lyrics befitting her cat theme.
** Suisei and Calli's [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EjlMPu5sEgw duet rendition of "GETCHA!"]] got significantly more traction than either [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KRVFPPYcJUc the original version]] or [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IxIfymd5g5Y Giga and KIRA's self-cover]]. This isn't a bad thing, though, seeing KIRA definitely approves the cover and went on to compose Kiara's third original single, "SPARKS".
** Following Coco's graduation, Kanata's [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5L8eoqaZ6WU cover of supercell's "Song of the beginning towards the end"]] ''immediately'' shot up to the very top of the search results for that song, reviving interest in the decade-old original.
** Izuru's [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TTfkhz6cwHQ cover]] of "The Streetlight Remains Rusty" gets more views than the [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eY3Zb1oEn-4 original]] that it would become the top searched version online.
** Botan's [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tNBq_N2C64A cover]] of "Creation" sees a significant rise in views compared to the [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EAAycqsF57c original]] by LUCAS, a [=VTuber=] and [=VSinger=] affiliated with LUMINOX.
** When Amelia had her 3D debut at [=HoloFes=] 2022, she sang "[[Literature/WelcomeToTheNHK Puru Puru Pururin]]". Many of her JP senpai thought it was original, only to be surprised that it came from an anime.
* CrazyIsCool: Ever since Haato lost it and became Haachama, she became both infamous and very popular.
* CreatorWorship: Thanks to his humble demeanor and friendly attitude, as well as his [[MemeticMutation memetic]] status, YAGOO is very highly regarded among the hololive fanbase. This can best be seen during [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iuY6BKIY004 his appearance at the 2023 Anime Expo]], where his mere appearance caused the crowd to explode into ovation and start to chant his name.
* DeathOfTheAuthor:
** Calli was on the receiving end of this in regards to her song "Off With Their Heads", where she eventually got so upset with continually telling her fans that it wasn't a diss track at anyone that she eventually gave up trying to correct them and believes her ability to express herself through her lyrics had failed in that song.
** When Mumei's "Dan Dan" music video was privated due to undisclosed concerns over something in its contents, there was some speculation that the offending scene was the one portraying the explosion of the ''Challenger'' shuttle given many people involved in the disaster and/or their immediate relatives are still alive today, unlike the ''Titanic'' and ''Hindenburg'' disasters portrayed earlier. Making matters worse was the fact that Mumei was holding a bottle of ethanol in front of the shuttle -- ethanol breaks down rubbers[[note]]The failures in the ''Challenger'' were connected to some of the rubber o-rings in the shuttle[[/note]] and (as an alcohol) chills surfaces, making it the perfect substance to sabotage the ''Challenger'' and MakeItLookLikeAnAccident. However, the connection was ''completely unintentional''; the bottle references a drunk karaoke stream and ''only'' said stream, which animator Kanauru eventually had to point out. Nonetheless, this was one of two scenes (the other being the ''Hindenburg'' scene) that was removed in the music video's revised version.
* DesignatedHero: A PlayedForLaughs example. Quite a few fans like to treat [=HoloTEMPUS=] as a group of these due to various members' less-than-upstanding character traits (such as Altare's [[SoftSpokenSadist sadistic streak]], Magni's moral ambiguity and penchant for [[HonestJohnsDealership cons]] and/or experimenting on his guild mates, Hakka's BloodKnight tendencies and Flayon's increasingly dark secrets) despite the fact the group are supposed to be heroes. This has become even more prevalent after the reveal of the more properly-villainous ARMIS.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:E-F]]
* EnsembleDarkHorse:
** Anemachi, Suisei's older sister. She has only appeared a handful of times but she's very popular with fans because of her funny interactions with Suisei. Many of Suisei's fans hope she gets to cameo more since whenever she does appear, it's a highlight of the stream.
** In July 2021, Ollie created [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FwfBl3a53uk Olivia]], an AlternateUniverse and alive persona who also serves as a demure, ShrinkingViolet {{Foil}} to the [[GenkiGirl loud and hyperactive zombie]]. Even though she was designed as a character for the one-off stream, Olivia resonated amongst the audience for her peaceful, pacifistic demeanour, getting several memes and fan arts quickly after the stream, and even keffiy, Ollie's [=Live2D=] rigger, [[https://twitter.com/keffiy/status/1414153628047212545?s=20 expressing interest in rigging a model]] for Olivia to the zombie's confusion.
** The ''moment'' Omegaα showed up, they had over 150,000 followers on Twitter. Their dry humor and deadpan responses in their Marshmallow (a site where people asks questions to the host) made them one of the popular hololive managers, especially in the English branch.
** Boros, Kronii's pet snake, is amazingly popular to her (joking) dismay. After her 2022 kimono reveal, fans had been attached to Boros since her kimono reveal, and Kronii becoming jealous of it.
* EvilIsCool: [[JekyllAndHyde Gawr]], who made her debut on the cover art and the vocals of Gura's first original song, "REFLECT", was warmly received as an interesting and edgy take on Gura that explores the animalistic side of her that is never really discussed on stream before. Not even 24 hours after the song's premiere, Gura's fanart tag on Twitter exploded with artwork of Gawr, with most of these artworks depicting her in a fairly similar fashion to how the Haachama/Haato duality is portrayed (read: very bloody and disturbing).
* FanCreatedOffspring: In June 2021, fans of holoEN would come up with the hashtag [=#MythKids=] to share their drawings of theoretical offsprings between different pairings (and even OneTrueThreesome ships) within the English branch. It initially started out with children created for Ame/Gura before branching out to all possible combinations and has even gone on to involve members from the non-English branches of hololive so long as an English member is one of the parents. The most popular offsprings that have received fanart of their own are Walter [[note]]Ina/Ame. The most popular male offspring created[[/note]], Clara [[note]]Calliope/Kiara. Clara's status is semi-official as she is Kiara and Calli's child from Kiara's ''VideoGame/TheSims'' letsplay.[[/note]], and Sunflower and Lemon Drop [[note]]Twins for Ame/Gura. Designed by [=@MittsumiA=] on twitter, who started the whole trend.[[/note]]
* FandomEnragingMisconception: The topic of possible Hololive/Holostar collaborations, when left unchecked, is a hot-button topic and rife with misinformation & disingenuous argumentation, leading to a lot of these in moderated circles.
** For a while, there was a popular gossip going around the vtuber community that Hololive talents were not allowed to collab with the men of Holostars - despite the fact that there had been several Hololive[=/=]Holostars collabs. Ultimately the choice to collab with members of the opposite gender is purely the talent's choice, and quite a few members on both sides have gone on record to say that their alleged "refusal" to collab has far more to do with [[CannotTalkToWomen personal shyness surrounding the topic]] or other preconceptions ''they'' possess than anything handed down by management. The Holostars fandom in particular outright ''despises'' this rumor, and only since the cross-gen collab ban being lifted from Tempus and them starting to do collabs with Hololive has it finally started to die down.
** There is also a theory nicknamed the "invisible gun" that insinuates the lack of collab streams is solely the product of WhyFandomCantHaveNiceThings. Not only is this factually incorrect for specific talents, it's speculative at best for those with no clear stance and [[TheWarOnStraw exaggerates a real problem to unrealistic degrees]].
** Following the above rumors being dispelled or otherwise taken down a notch, the inverse began to circulate in its place as a continued dig at the branch, that certain interactions with Holostars were being "forced" on Hololive or that management is conspiring to astroturf their presence. No sound evidence exists to support any of these claims[[note]]outside of the HLZNTL gaming project, which was shuttered anyway for being too stressful outside of this context[[/note]], and attempts to spread them are frequently rebuffed as so.
** Speaking of Tempus, some EN fans also inevitably stepped on a few toes when they mistakenly hailed the Tempus collabs with Holo EN as the first of such cross-gender branch collabs. This particularly annoyed the ID fandom since the ID girls are among the most frequent Stars collabers since before Tempus was even announced. JP fans were also vexed since Fubuki, Matsuri, [=AZKi=], and the like had collabed with Stars onstream and even on-stage in 3D before any of the EN girls did.
** The phrase "Holostars is not part of Hololive" is semantically incorrect. While Hololive the ''branch'' does not include Holostars, both branches are part of the greater brand Hololive ''Production'', something that even the official subreddit points out (despite some attempts to state otherwise) and which on a structural level is no different from the divisions between the regional branches and DEV_IS.
* FandomSpecificPlot:
** [[HighSchoolAU High School AUs]] starring [=HoloMyth=] are fairly popular and frequently share similarities amongst one another.
*** Amelia is usually made out to be a delinquent in love with Gura, who is the popular girl at school initially oblivious to her affection. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j36SWB7G0hg This mostly stems from a popular cover sung by Amelia, where she sings about Gura not noticing her.]] The other aspects are references to the former's crazy childhood stories and the latter having the highest subscriber count among Hololive.
*** Kiara either works part-time at a fast food restaurant, in service to her dream of opening her own fast food chain one day, or is a teacher, as a reference to her streams where she teaches the viewers or Gura German or Japanese.
** Likewise, it's not uncommon to see fanart depicting [=HoloMyth=] as a family, with [[TeamDad Calli]] as the stern, responsible father, [[TeamMom Kiara]] as the caring, loving mother, Gura as the cheerful, innocent youngest child, Amelia as the troublemaking middle child, and Ina as the mature oldest child.
** For some reason, the official backstory for Moona Hoshinova (the human girl Hoshinova is possessed by the ghost Moona while falling into the ocean, they both become moon goddesses thanks to the full moon) tends to be largely ignored by the fanbase, with them rather prefering to swap the positions of host and possessor, as well as make Hoshinova have ''always'' been a moon goddess. Atleast the "possessor has always been a moon goddess" part of it is implied to have become AscendedFanon by the MV of "High Tide".
* FanficFuel: Kureiji Ollie's alternate universe counterpart Olivia, as well as her alternate universe itself, is prime fanfic fuel. Although explicitly stated to be non-canon, Olivia's character invites a lot of speculation on how hololive looks like in her origin universe. She mentioned some of her colleagues and genmates, which are all normal humans (unlike this universe's Hololive with beasts, magic-users, and mythological creatures galore) except for Amelia Watson who was mentioned to be the only member of hololive that have a superpower (and implied to be ''the'' Amelia Watson from our dimension).
* FanMyopia: After Aloe's sudden and unfortunate graduation, it wasn't uncommon to find fans who couldn't let go and move on even months after it happened despite her brief tenure. Perhaps the biggest example can be seen in the assumption that any talent covering "Happy Synthesizer" ''must'' have been in tribute to Aloe. Iofi's cover of the song with Pochi used to be flooded with posts mourning Aloe and the former top comment one that chided the community at large for doing so instead of celebrating Iofi's 6th month anniversary. When Kiara did a watchalong for hololive 2nd fes, the overwhelming majority of chat quickly shifted from excitement for Noel and Flare's duet to tearful emojis crying out for Aloe rather than focus on the work they put into their performance. More generally, as the years have passed since the incident and Aloe's actress reappearing elsewhere, attempts at "tribute" and grief still continue to pop up infrequently, and are often shot down as stuck in the past & [[ExcessiveMourning highly inconsiderate of both the talents and Aloe's current whereabouts]].
* FanNickname: Has its own page [[FanNickname/{{Hololive}} here]].
* FountainOfMemes:
** Fubuki's Platform/{{Vine}}-like covers of songs used in Western memes have, unsurprisingly, gained the affection of many English fans. Fubuki herself is aware of her reputation overseas as "the Meme Queen" but claims to be confused as to why her fans think of her that way.
** Pekora's AssholeVictim shenanigans often get her put in the HarmlessVillain position in ''many'' parody videos, especially on the Chinese streaming website ''bilibili''.
** Roberu has created a ton of meme due to his hyperactivity and weird streaming content. Besides the well-known Winning Son meme, he also created one of the biggest memes in the ''VideoGame/AmongUs'' fanbase with his horrible attempts at lying leading him to declare there was a "Cafeteria in his soul".
** Similar to Roberu, Polka's zaniness makes her quite the meme machine, especially when {{Engrish}} is concerned.
** Korone is also definitely one, if you can't tell by her folder in [[Memes/{{Hololive}} the Memes page]], her occasional broken English and overall attitude ends up making her extremely memeable.
** The majority of [=HoloEn=] Gen 1 seem to be aware of how memeable they are to the fandom, and have even deliberately helped create some of their own via exploitable shorts (Gura, Amelia) and greenscreen edits (Kiara).
* FriendlyFandoms:
** Many Hololive fans overlap with fans of rival VirtualYouTuber company {{Creator/Nijisanji}}. It helps that talents from both companies collaborate with each other quite often.
** An interesting case of two fandoms for the ''same work'' being friendly: there is a surprising amount of interaction between Japanese-speaking fans and English-speaking fans, since many of the idols make an effort to address their overseas viewers every so often and Coco in particular frequently showcases English memes from the r/hololive reddit page, which has made many Japanese fans curious about the other side of the fandom. [[https://twitter.com/RedditholoJP A twitter account]] exists which translates the Reddit memes into Japanese, and fans who know both languages frequently make efforts to bring both sides of the language divide closer together. After the debut of the English branch, channels which normally provide English subtitles for the rest of the streamers would add Japanese subtitles for the [=holoEN=] content.
** Due to the collab with ''VideoGame/AzurLane'' and the fact that some members still play it, Hololive and ''Azur Lane'' fandoms have some overlap and with demand for a rerun and/or sequel with the newer girls.
** The fandom also has some overlap with that of ''Videogame/FateGrandOrder'', since many of its members were designed by popular artists associated with FGO, such as lack, pako, and Wada Arco. Within the communities for both franchises, it's commonly joked that the Venn diagram for both fandoms is a circle.
** The 23rd episode of ''WebVideo/TrashTaste'' had Calliope as the special guest, bringing the Hololive and ''Trash Taste'' fandoms together, especially when the subreddits for both subjects were mentioned. However, it's not perfectly friendly; some members of the Hololive fandom dislike certain aspects of ''Trash Taste'' for their own reasons, and vice-versa, but both fandoms have been civil about the collab.
** There is a lot of overlap between fans of hololive and fans of WebVideo/VOMSProject, particularly between fans of Amano Pikamee and [=holoEN=]. The bond between the fandoms was strengthened by Pikamee expressing a desire to collab with [=holoEN=] in the future. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DC3uQyBmxAo Which did indeed happen.]]
** There is also a sizable overlap between fans of Hololive and WebVideo/{{VShojo}}, as well, driven in part by the tendency of certain [=VShojo=] talents to reference Hololive's members and various {{Running Gag}}s associated with them whenever the opportunity arises. This ultimately led to Kiara and Nyanners collabing, quickly followed by Calli and Ironmouse.
** There's a group of Hololive fans who are also ProfessionalWrestling fans, as they can appreciate the similarities that Hololive (and Vtubers in general) have with pro wrestling characters. The biggest expression of this is the [=HoloFightZ=] Platform/{{Twitch}} stream account, where they use one of the ''VideoGame/WWEVideoGames'' to simulate a federation of Hololive talents made through the Create-A-Wrestler mode. This link got even stronger when Miko got a hold of ''WWE [=2K22=]'' and made her own versions of the talents, getting gigantic view counts for her streams (not to mention the resulting clips).
** As [=EVO=] 2023 and prolific creators like Koefficient have shown, there is an oddly large overlap between the MediaNotes/FightingGameCommunity and hololive. In the 2024 Capcom Cup, one of the biggest fighting game tournaments in the world, the Winner, Uma, wore Mio's 1 million subscribers celebration hoodie, ironically the prize for the tournament was 1 million dollars.

[[folder:G-J]]
* GatewaySeries:
** Fubuki's viral shorts such as "Im. Scatman" serve as this for many overseas fans into hololive. Lampshaded in her 2020 Birthday Stream. She gets a lot of messages from viewers saying that it's thanks to her content that they got into hololive and she's happy that more people are viewing the other idols even if they stopped watching her as a result.
** {{Lampshaded}} by Amelia Watson. Knowing that [=HoloEN=] would be a lot of people's first foray into the world of Hololive, Amelia made a PSA at the end of one of her earlier streams encouraging her viewers to read the rules of the Japanese branch idols since V-tuber culture is much different from normal live streamer culture.
* HarsherInHindsight:
** During Luna and Subaru's VR horror stream where they take turns playing, the former gets so scared she falls back in her chair and hits the ground. It got a few laughs at the moment, but the fact that it resulted in pain so bad Luna needed to be taken to the hospital due to damaging ligaments and irritating previously existing neck pain, and getting put on pain medication that made her sick, it firmly falls into this.
** For Haato/Haachama:
*** The thumbnail of Haato's [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZDoyb3CWQnE debut video]] shows an image of her from the neck down. While this could be seen as neat little allusion to Haaton, her yellow pig mascot with a notable beheaded mark around their necks [[note]]Which itself is most likely based on the [[Literature/AlicesAdventuresInWonderland Queen of Hearts]]' tendency to say OffWithHisHead[[/note]], it becomes a reality in the HAACHAMA×Akaihaato arc where Haato herself is... well, ''beheaded'' [[https://youtu.be/8JjjscSWLi0?t=2443 during her singing stream in February 7th, 2021]].
*** In the short video titled [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mmDdOJDhzHs "HAACHAMA THE THIRD"]], the ending scene has another Haato head coming in and knocking the head on Haato away, taking its place in a humorous, nonsensical manner. In the HAACHAMA×Akaihaato arc, Haato being decapitated and subsequently reattaching herself to the body is a major plot point that is both PlayedForHorror and PlayedForDrama.
** After Amelia's tutorial session for Mythbreakers, Kiara joked that her avatar did so much nodding that her neck muscles would be jacked. Cut forward a few days later, and Kiara herself reported that [[https://preview.redd.it/v9m1g3xqpn771.jpg?width=830&auto=webp&s=b281b9004a6ede241ab4af250b2c275650c70ce5 she sprained her neck]].
** The day after Hololive's [=3rd=] fest concert, ''Link your wish'', [[https://twitter.com/tsukumosana/status/1505493773429604359 Sana expressed her desire]] to one day be able to perform, on stage, in 3D with the rest of Council as well as [=IRyS=]. Sadly, this would never come to past, as a combination of a back injury she sustained the previous month, which had a major effect on her mobility and undoubtedly made dancing difficult, and the difficulty of balancing the demands of both her non-hololive career as a professional artist as well as being a corporate [=vTuber=] with hololive, led to her decision to graduate from hololive at the end of July 2022.
** An example that's more bittersweet than just sad, just three days after Sana's graduation, the leadup to ''VideoGame/PokemonScarletAndViolet'' introduced a new Pokémon with essentially the same concept as her bread dog/Sanalite mascot. Especially bittersweet given Sana's reputation as maybe the biggest ''Pokémon'' fan in the company and that she wouldn't be around to stream the new games.
** The many jokes about Luna's poor stamina and general unfitness took on a harsher light in May 2023 after she announced that she had been [[https://twitter.com/lunatan_nanora/status/1663449642766565376 diagnosed with asthma.]]
** In his initial interview with Vesper, Flayon responded to the question "if you could have a superpower, what would it be?" by saying that he would want to be able to steal other people's powers and become good at everything. As it turns out, [[VisualNovel/XHololive he's done exactly that once before]].
** Altare's revelation that TEMPUS was originally supposed to be a six-man group instead of two subunits of four became this in light of Vesper and Dezmond's sudden departures in August 2023.
** Yozora Mel's [[https://archive.ragtag.moe/watch?v=uzbe_Ra0l_I stream praising about her colleagues, reminiscent their memories together and her future plans with them]] being her final stream right before her immediate retirement announcement.
* HeartwarmingInHindsight:
** The Hologra episode "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IB-41BrvMfI Let's Form a Band]]" has Matsuri suggesting making a band. This actually happens in Suisei's 4th Live concert where she forms a band with Towa, Aki, Matsuri, and Polka (unofficially called STAMP by fans), making this dream come true.
** A meme regarding ID's Ayunda Risu being the child of JP's Nekomata Okayu and Inugami Korone was taken to an endearing level as Okayu and Korone [[RelationshipUpgrade propose to each other]] at the end of 2023.
* HilariousInHindsight: [[HilariousInHindsight/{{hololive}} Enough to have it's own page]].
* IdiosyncraticShipNaming: Although the fandom generally prefers PortmanteauCoupleNames, there are a few select pairings that do this instead:
** [=AmeSame=] is actually a FanNickname for Amelia Watson and Gawr Gura; though it occasionally sees official use by the two. The "Same" part comes from her nickname among the JP branch, "Same-chan" (Shark-chan). "Shartson" (Shark+Watson) was also proposed on Reddit, somewhat as a joke. Fans are split on interpreting them as either a PseudoRomanticFriendship or HeterosexualLifePartners.
** [=ShinySpicy=] for Altare and Axel.
** [=MagClown=] for Magni and Bettel.
* IKnewIt:
** One scene in the teaser for Hololive Alternative had Noel throwing a dragon very high in the air. Many people noticed the orange coloration of said dragon and thought that she may have been throwing Coco. Coco [[https://twitter.com/kiryucoco/status/1362255214099636225 soon clarified]] that the dragon in the teaser [[WordOfGod wasn't her]]. Only to reveal a few days later that the dragon ''was indeed'' supposed to be her and that the staff just hadn't told her about it in time.
** When the 2nd English generation, [=HoloCouncil=], was revealed, jokes were made of Baelz Hakos being from Oceania as she and her text appeared completely upside down during the promo vid. Baelz would later confirm that she's an Aussie during her [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W9rAtIytnHk post-debut Q&A stream]], with information she revealed putting her locale somewhere in the state of New South Wales.
* JerkassWoobie: Flayon's portrayal in ''X'' reveals him to [[spoiler:be an all-too real case of "gifted-kid syndrome," being praised as a prodigy as a child but being utterly incapable of functioning in the real world and the whiplash driving him into depression. The {{Jerkass}} part comes in when ''X'' explains why we didn't find out about this until now: he fixed the problem by literally ''draining the talent of another person'' using C-TRUS, ruining their own life for the sake of Flayon's vanity. His dialogue to the person just as he's about to fully invoke the deal shows [[LackOfEmpathy he knows the consequences of his own actions and derives some degree of enjoyment from it]], something that correlates to his open disregard of human life in his debut video]].
* JustHereForGodzilla:
** Subscribers who watch Hololive members despite not knowing the language they speak. It might be because they enjoy the streams as a background noise, because they think the member's voice is warm & comforting, or funny, or they like listening to musical streams or when they play certain games.
** Fans of Suisei will have different reasons for being a fan of hers: Her own hard work for her music content (by choice), her sister Anemachi whenever she is heard in the background or joins in with her sister in games, interactions with other girls, or [[MemeticPsychopath famously]], her ComedicSociopathy tendencies whether she's playing a game or group talk collaborations.
** Korone is a [[FountainOfMemes meme machine]] and she has garnered a tremendous following among Western fans to tune in just to see her amusing attempts at {{Engrish}}.
** Many of Botan's subscribers likely have heard about her either through clips of her completely {{No Sell}}ing horror game {{Jump Scare}}s or multiplayer {{FPS}} montages showcasing her skill.
** Gura became ''the'' most subscribed hololive channel a mere 2 months after her debut. For many fans, Gura ended up serving as a gateway to not just hololive but vtubers as a whole. Her streams tend to dominate the viewer count compared to her gen mates, with 10,000 being considered ''low'' for her. Her second outfit reveal may very well have achieved the highest live audience in all of Hololive, peaking out at around 194,000 viewers. The very moment that Gura revealed her face (and thus showed the entire outfit), the viewership dropped by 50K in the next two minutes, with the Youtube stats immediately dropping to 178K in the next update. It was clear that people only wanted to see the big reveal and didn't care about anything after. Similar behaviour happened with Ayame, Watame, Calli, Towa, Kiara, Kanata and Ina in the days prior.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:M]]
* MemeticMolester:
** ''Never'' let [[ComedicLolicon Matsuri]] anywhere near an elementary school. Even though Matsuri herself prefers to keep her perverted antics confined to her channel, her raunchy reputation tends to precede her on several occasions, sometimes to the point where people forget that she can compete with the best of them as a proper idol.
** Noel also gets this treatments because of her obsession with shotas, earning her the nickname of "Shota Eater". Having onee-chan figure, voice, and behavior doesn't help. This later shifted into jokes about her [[StalkerWithACrush obsession]] with Subaru, which even became an AscendedMeme such as a FreezeFrameBonus in the outfit swapping [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SirMcRmSEB4 "Hololive Shuffle Medley"]] where Noel sniffs Subaru's cap.
** Amelia is a non-ComedicLolicon example. Ever since she made a joke about [[YourMom ground-pounding the chat's mom]], the fandom has turned her into a full-blown threat to mothers everywhere.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:N-R]]
* {{Narm}}: Some of the avatars can be seen as very uncanny and somewhat hard to take seriously, having odd animation issues that distract from the stream if one looks at them long enough:
** For instance, Minato Aqua's facial expressions, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S3CAGeeMRvo especially in her debut video]] ([[OldShame which her current incarnation cringed at]] [[https://youtu.be/tNikEBhx51c?t=95 during an APEX Legends stream]]), come off as very uncanny. Even some of her more recent expressions can come off as derpy, especially if she's trying to convey some emotion [[https://imgur.com/a/1XtmZqj (this particular one for instance happened when she was upset that she was about to lose a match in Smash Ultimate)]] and it comes off as her being overly happy due to her smile instead. [[https://imgur.com/a/vWMMdvJ These]] [[https://imgur.com/a/epvCqxo expressions]] (her actually screaming while [[ManOnFire being burned by lava in Minecraft in two different occasions]]) also carry onto her casual avatar as well, although it's not as extreme.
** Matsuri has a similar instance as well, mostly due to her early model's inability to have anything but a wide open mouth when speaking. Her [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gplju-POMe0 "2.0" Live2D model]] finally addressed this by giving her avatar more expressions and better face tracking.
** Watame's default expression is a smile that gives her an almost V-shaped mouth, something that looks very odd when her avatar's mouth moves a lot. She lampshades this [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NynaHgS7xvA in her membership announcement stream]] and demonstrates a (then-newly developed) expression that turns her mouth into a more natural-looking horizontal line.
** For the more well-endowed characters, the rigging of their JigglePhysics makes their chest move like a pair of balloons or something out of a zero-gravity environment, making said jiggle physics more funny or weird to look at than titilating. It's especially noticeable on Kiara and Reine's avatars.
** The hololive app tends to do weird things with [=Live2D=] avatars when trying to interpret blurry frames, usually messing with the eyes. This is most noticeable with Gura's avatar, which starts blinking rapidly and repeatedly if she's not looking directly at the camera.
** Most of hololive's "Home 3D" models don't track facial movements well. As a result, their faces often get stuck with their mouth either agape or in a toothy grin for long periods of time, making them seem like they're ventriloquists.
** Mumei's harpy form in [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OR9pvITHH24 the third holoweEN episode]]. While the build-up and reveal was undeniably creepy, the later shots put focus on her [[HartmanHips rather shapely hips and thighs]], resulting in a rather awkward design that feels too fanservice-y to be scary and too much of a FetishRetardant to be hot, given the context.
* NauseaFuel:
** Kronii's Subway stream was designed to make her lose her appetite for [[TrademarkFavoriteFood Subway]], and it worked a little ''too'' well. The stream involves her putting Subway sandwiches into a blender, be it meatball, teriyaki, or cheesesteak, turning them into smoothies, and drinking them. It becomes even more disgusting when she decides to add alcohol to the cheesesteak smoothie to "improve the taste", and she ends it by combining all three smoothies, [[CordonBleughChef adding maple syrup]], and drinking it. Her gag reflex triggers spontaneously, and she describes the last smoothie as smelling like vomit.
** Magni held a [[https://www.youtube.com/live/gCmnT5cuz3E potion-making stream]] to celebrate the opening of his membership, and let chat vote, in real time, what ingredients he would include - and, perhaps unsurprisingly, the resulting concoction (consisting of Red Bull, jellybeans, tabasco sauce, mustard, and ''cat food'') nearly made him vomit.
* NeverLiveItDown:
** Aqua revealing her weight as 44.5 KG. The number had since be associated with her.
** Suisei's actions in multiplayer and singleplayer games where she is allowed to commit brutal acts of violence has fans calling her a psychopath. However she rolls with it and [[SuspiciouslySpecificDenial pretends she has no idea what chat and other people are talking about]]. Not to mention she ''loves'' committing acts of violence in those games like it's [[ButForMeItWasTuesday just a normal day for her]] ...often [[FortheEvulz for the sake of violence itself]].
** Many fans tend to exaggerate Matsuri's perverted tendencies to the point that she's mostly regarded as a MemeticMolester as mentioned above, despite the fact that she's actually quite chill most of the time. Matsuri herself, much like Suisei, doesn't seem too bothered by it however.
** Yozora Mel is often known as [[TooHotForTV Banpire]], a nickname given by Marine and adopted by the fans ever since the Youtube AI forcibly shut down her return stream in early 2020 ''twice'' in the same day. While it likely happened due to her {{Fanservice}}-y design, she's streamed plenty of times before and afterward with the same design without Youtube forcibly shutting her down; the ban was only that severe on the day she earned the nickname.
** On a purity and inteligence chart featured one stream, Kiara was relegated to the bottom-left section of the chart, meaning perverted (Bottom) and stupid (Left), turning "Bottom Left" into a recurring joke/name-call from fans anytime Kiara acts in a impure manner, despite certain moments of perceived perversity being more mundane and/or {{innocent|Innuendo}} in context, or Kiara having gone through some [[CharacterizationMarchesOn character changes]] to make the chart outdated to a degree. It got bad enough when Kiara was met with comments of "Bottom Left" so often that she had to call them out for running with the joke to mean-spirited levels, with it becoming {{Discredited|Meme}} as a result.
** Haachama has [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G_E16na5hts admitted]] she feels this way about her [[AnimalMotifs association with spiders]]. She ate a tarantula on stream '''once''' (it's arguably not even the most disgusting thing she has ever eaten), but she became forever remembered for that one single incident, much to her... "dismay" is probably a bit too strong a word, but definitely puzzlement.
* NightmareFuel: Has [[NightmareFuel/{{hololive}} its own page]].
* OlderThanTheyThink:
** While hololive English sparked a lot of excitement for having English-speaking talents, the Indonesian branch debuted five months earlier with multilingual members who also regularly stream in English.
** Newcomers to the Vtuber community may sometimes associate hololive as the one that popularized the trend of [[InnocentSwearing Vtubers swearing]] and shouting the [[ClusterFBomb F-word]], especially since the hololive girls' videos appear first when you search "swearing vtubers" on [=YouTube=] and Website/{{Google}}. The community also has a "FAQ!" catchphrase for it, as popularized by Sakura Miko. This trend actually predates hololive since WebAnimation/KizunaAi was infamous for her [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FyFYH-7Ody0&t=14m56s "FAKKYU!" catchphrase]] from a 2017 playthrough of ''VideoGame/ResidentEvil7''.
** Contrary to popular belief, [=HoloEN=] Gen 1 wasn't the trendsetter for hololive talents to be illustrated by artist who are known for their work in ''VideoGame/FateGrandOrder''. Many of the pre-[=HoloEN=] members have had their character artists work on that game in the past as well, usually as the illustrators of minor characters (Okada Izo, a three-star Servant, was illustrated by lack, who would later go on to design Shiranui Flare and Arurandeisu) and Craft Essences. To its credit, though, [=HoloEN=] Gen 1 ''was'' the start of the trend for more major character artist to come onto the scene, with huke (Kiara) and Kuroboshi Kouhaku (Ina) being the more notable figures.
** Upon the announcement of four new members for Holostars Tempus, many were surprised that they're not a new group and they debuted 6 months after the founding members' debut. The first generation of Holostars JP debuted across a span of 6 months with 6 members. The second generation, [=SunTempo=], debuted 6 months after the first gen. The third generation, [=MaFia=] formerly [=TriNero=], also debuted 6 months after the 2nd gen. And despite Holostars JP being made up of 3 gens and several subunits, they ultimately operate as one big group.
* OneSceneWonder: "Enma," the manager of Hololive EN, managed to gain a lot of recognition for defeating a [[TheJuggernaut Tank]] with a katana and only a sliver of health during a ''VideoGame/Left4Dead2'' collab stream with her filling in as a 4th member. Before that, she had only been mentioned in passing by Marine when Enma had asked her to say her iconic "I'm horny!" line for her.
* OneTrueThreesome: Among [=holoCouncil=], Kronii/Mumei/Fauna became pretty well-accepted following the aftermath of the "Council Civil War arc", which built up Fauna and Kronii as rivals for Mumei's affection while having their own [[FoeYayShipping Foe Yay]] with each other. This ended with peace and Fauna stating this trope as her prefered solution to the problem in the future.
* PeripheryDemographic:
** Given that ID, EN, and the short lived China branches were all created due to the very high number of non-japanese hololive fans, it should come as no surprise that these cute anime girls and boys attract very diverse crowds. This is both because of the dedicated clipping community who takes interesting moments in hours long streams and cuts them down to bite size segments and most importantly subs them in various languages. Of the various branches Hololive Indonesia takes the cake of most fans outside their intended demographic. This is helped by the majority of the ID talents being very fluent in English as well as collabing the most with other branches and even non-hololive creators.
** Vtubing as a whole has always been more oriented toward older men as the main demographic, but they have also garnered a smaller but just as dedicated fanbase of women, to the point that even someone like [[ShamelessFanserviceGirl Houshou Marine]] can boast about having a 17% female audience. Calli, in particular, is very popular with women, and she has a 37% female viewership, and Laplus has stated she has similar numbers. In fact, a lot of the later generations have noted they were huge fans before joining. This a big part of why Holostars became a thing at all.
** Holostars' initial target audience was meant to be female, but around 40% of fans ended up being male. Some Holostars members like Aruran and Vesper actually have more male viewers than female.
** According to Laplus, three out of every ten fan letters she receives are from elementary school students. It helps her content is a lot more family friendly compared to some of her coworkers.
* PopCultureIsolation: [=AZKi=] is actually one of the more popular original talents... as a musician. Gaming content isn't (and has never been) a focus of hers, and her sub count is among the lowest in Hololive, since the fanbase does not translate the same way. On the other hand, she's quite popular and respected domestically. There's a reason, after all, she was able to organize several music programs involving hundreds of [=VTubers=]. [[note]]Since her transfer into Hololive her musician character largely remains, however due to her proficiency at GeoGuessr, characterization related to this game (Such as memeing her able to triangulate your location with ease) had also seen prominence. [[/note]]
* PortmanteauCoupleName: The talents usually come up with a couple name for 1-on-1 collabs which also serves as an EngineeredHashtag for discussion and fanart related to that pair. Below are several of the most prominent couples.
** [=AmeChama=] for Amelia and Haachama. While fans have used this tag for their collab/fanart before, Haachama herself actually tagged it on her stream name for their collabs.
** [=GurAme=] for Gura and Amelia.
** [=MiComet=] for Miko and Suisei.
** [=NoeFure=] for Noel and Flare.
** [=OkaKoro=] for Okayu and Korone.
** [=PekoMari=] for Pekora and Marine.
** [=PekoMiko=] for Pekora and Miko. These two are mostly depicted as VitriolicBestBuds.
** [=PekoMoon(a)=] for Pekora and Moona.
** [=ShishiLamy=] for Botan and Lamy.
** [=TakaMori=] for Takanashi Kiara and Mori Calliope. This name was announced as the [[WordOfGod official couple name]] and [[EngineeredHashtag hashtag for fanart]] on twitter.
** Inafi for Ina and Iofi. Similarly, it's their official ship name and fanart hashtag, though their chats insist on [=ErofIna=] (Erofi+Ina). [[note]] "Ero" means "Lewd" in Japanese, which have the character 工口 that resembles "i" and "o" for Iofi's name. [[/note]]
** [=KanaCoco=] for Kanata and Coco.
** [=SorAZ=] for Sora and [=AZKi=].
** [=SubMarine=] for Subaru and Marine.
** Sauna for Sana and Fauna.
** [=BaeRyS=] for Baelz and [=IRyS=].
** [=PavoNashi=] for Reine and Kiara.
** [=KronMei=] for Kronii and Mumei.
** [=LuiKoro=] for Lui and Korone.
** [=LuiChloe=] for Lui and Chloe.
** [=KoyoMari=] for Koyori and Marine.
** [=HaMiko=] for Haato and Miko.
*** [=MikoChama=] for Miko and Haachama.
** [=TowaLap=] for Towa and La+.
** [=ShioGura=] for Shion and Gura.
** [=GuraTsuri=] for Gura and Matsuri.
** [=AkuOka=] for Aqua and Okayu.
** [=ShishiWata=] for Botan and Watame.
** [=AlMond=] for Altare and Dezmond
** [=MagNoir=] for Magni and Vesper.
** Begni for Bettel and Magni, though their official collab name is ABC (Apple, Banana, Cherry).
** [=HanaKishi=] for Miyabi and Temma.
** [[=Jutai=] for Jurard and Octavio.
** [=Taela=] for Ze[[=Ta=]] and Ka[[=ela=].
* RonTheDeathEater: Despite her soft-spoken, comfy nature and kind-heartedness, Ninomae Ina'nis' EldritchAbomination theme is occasionally dialed up to eleven in fanart, depicting her as a malevolent and corrupting being, especially when TheTeamNormal Amelia Watson is involved.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:S-T]]
* SelfFanservice: A number of girls get fan-arts with exaggerated curves, be it already buxom girls getting bigger or some of the moderately sized girls that wear emphasizing outfits.
** Amelia is one such example as after revealing that she wasn't flat, she is often portrayed in art as on par with Marine/other rather busty members. In a Q&A touching on the subject, she admits that she disapprove of it on matter of personal taste (she apparently prefers them smaller, but not too small).
** An odd example in the form of Anya, who's suppose to be a [[TokenMiniMoe small and petite girl]] but her default model goes at odds with her appearance. [[https://youtu.be/WOBfjOHlrPc As Anya herself clarified]], the flat design present in most if not all her thumbnails is how she's supposed to look like; due an error in her [=Live2D=] model rigging, the way her front layer of clothing moves and ''especially'' bounces gives her the illusion of being rather busty for her size. Naturally, this results in plenty of art of the same calibur or more, playing into the pun of Anya being a "curvy dagger". The misconception around Anya's appearance has even affected her [[https://youtu.be/mmXtTru8g8E?t=12830 HoloClothing depiction in the hololive SUPER EXPO 2022]], her statue having a notable bust comparable to Reine's statue.
** Kazama Iroha has gotten lots of fanarts depicting her with large breasts, despite her very modest bust size, something that even her illustrator [[https://twitter.com/bouzumi_/status/1466240414634377218 confirmed]] alongside her design sheet. Iroha wearing {{Sarashi}} certainly doesn't help either, as it only fuels the speculation of her [[HiddenBuxom real bust size]] even further. [[{{Irony}} Ironic]] considering that Iroha is one of, if not the only "pettan" member of Hololive who [[BreakingOldTrends not only accepts being small-busted]], but also [[PetitePride deems it more practical]]. Iroha is aware of this, and keeps insisting that she doesn't have much.
---> '''Iroha''': I'm like, "do I have that much cleavage....?"
** Inverted with Amane Kanata, who keep insist in having big breasts while her artist refuse to draw them bigger chest.
* ShipsThatPassInTheNight: Due to the greater subject of Hololive/Holostar interactions being a known minefield of FlameBait, heterosexual shipping discussions are often booted to this by default, lest they get accused of being deliberately malicious. The loudest pairing of them, however, appears to be Zeta and Axel, which usually takes the form of interpreting their ''VideoGame/KeepTalkingAndNobodyExplodes'' collab (and their only collab thus far) as bickering LikeAnOldMarriedCouple. Other fuel for the ShippingGoggles includes how Axel is the only member in the entire company to receive a serious drawing from Zeta as a birthday gift (everyone else's drawing gifts were jokes of varying quality), and how the 2024 Super Expo promotional art frames them in a way that could be interpreted as them staring at each other.
* ShipToShipCombat: In holoEN fan discords, there is a rather playful shipping war involving different pairings of Gawr Gura, Amelia Watson, and Ninomae Ina'nis (and sometimes Mori Calliope and Takanashi Kiara but not as much). [=AmeSame=] (Amelia/Gura) vs. [=InAme=] (Ina/Ame) are the ships that have the most rivalry with slight mentions of one member of the ship on the other member's stream is [[ShippingGoggles perceived as automatically giving those shippers a leg up over the opposing ship]]. Though some tend to settle for the OneTrueThreesome known as [=InAmeSame=].
* SignatureSong:
** For Suisei:
*** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vQHVGXdcqEQ "NEXT COLOR PLANET"]], being an original song of hers that she actually won ''first place'' for the Vtuber Music awards for original song and third place for original music video. In fact, it's so well known that it has been used in arcades and Joysound karaoke in Japan.
*** Her original fourth song, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IKKar5SS29E&t "GHOST"]], immediately gained traction after her 4th live concert and third anniversary. When it was released as a single, it quickly topped numerous digital singles charts such as Oricon [[note]]A Japanese equlvalent of the billboard music chart[[/note]] and the [=iTunes=] Japan store, the latter of which where "GHOST" from 5th place to 1st within ''hours''.
** [[https://youtu.be/dl1PCeldW-s "Happy Synthesizer"]] for Mano Aloe, being the one of the first covers she's done live and the last song she's ever done in ''hololive''. So much so that as tribute to Mano, Nene made it [[https://youtu.be/4Dxcmtbp4Eg her goal to practice the song]], and later [[https://youtu.be/iNEFwKDQ9eg perform it live on Halloween 2020]].
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3UV8OZj2olg&t=153s "-ERROR"]] for Towa, the song having become so associated with her that many are unaware that it's not an original.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5y3xh8gs24c "Excuse My Rudeness, But Could You Please RIP?"]] for Calliope. As the first of her original songs that she introduced in her debut, it has since become her image song, and ''the'' most watched original song for any hololive talent. Like "NEXT COLOR PLANET", it (along with her other songs) has also become available in Joysound karaoke machines throughout Japan, and Calli's senpais usually like to tease her by singing the chorus portion of the song.
** Many newer generations would have a group song that comes with their debut, such as [[https://open.spotify.com/album/4yBMjMFsL425sHw2sPWE3O Top of The World]] from Holostars Tempus or [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pYNYhSsR8EE Rebellion]] from HoloAdvent.
* {{Squick}}:
** In spite of being idols, the cast are not afraid of doing some very un-idol like things.
*** One of the relatively ''tamer'' examples is Haato playing ''VideoGame/GettingOverItWithBennettFoddy'' using her feet. At some point, someone asks her to [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fHVxozU7neg smell them]] and she obliges, then immediately regrets it.
*** Almost all of the meals that [[CordonBleughChef Haachama]] produces arguably qualify, but the absolute pinnacle so far has to be her stream from December 18th, 2020, in which she '''ate a pre-cooked tarantula''' live on-stream. Kiara, who had already been exposed to her "cooking" before, was utterly horrified and had to cut her stream short due to how nauseated she was feeling at the idea.
*** While playing ''Minecraft'' with Calli, Gura asks her if she's ever had to wash her mouse pad. She suggested putting the mousepad up during a shower and watch as all the sweat, grime, various stains, bits of food, and the multitude of colors wash away. [[BileFascination Calli was rather intrigued by the idea]].
*** During one ''Minecraft'' stream, Kanata [[https://youtu.be/2TNqfLJ5wRc got to talking about her childhood]]. Apparently she hurt herself once, and was so enamored with the pain relief patch that she got from the school infirmary that she started intentionally injuring herself to get more of them. The chat called her a psychopath, and the comments on the clip theorized that her infamous grip strength comes from her unknowingly imitating a technique in which fighters intentionally break their bones so they grow back stronger ''at the age of nine''.
** While Matsuri and Noel's obsessions over lolis and shotas are most likely PlayedForLaughs, the notion of a pair of adult women lusting over children can come off as creepy and disturbing for some, [[ValuesDissonance the western audience in particular.]]
* {{Starboarding}}: While Kiara/Calliope (aka [=TakaMori=]) is a popular ship, there's also a large number of fans that prefer having Kiara be a comically foward HopelessSuitor to the clearly not interested Calliope.
* StopHavingFunGuys: Pretty much every hololive girl has had to deal with backseat gamers in chat and on social media complaining about their playstyles for certain games. It has gotten to the point that certain girls have stickied messages in their chat specifically about this. A particularly notable example is when Amelia got severely heckled to play Gwent during ''The Witcher 3''.
* SuspiciouslySimilarSong: Korone's song "Trouble Wander" sounds like the theme to ''Franchise/{{Ghostbusters}}''.
* SugarWiki/SweetDreamsFuel:
** Ayame Nakiri, despite being an oni, has incredibly sweet laughs and is generally one of the cutest talents to watch. It's a common joke among the community that Ayame cures depression.
** Regis Altare's soft voice is very, very soothing to listen to.
** In spite of the Eldritch theme of her character, Ninomae Ina'nis is known for her soft voice and the generally chill vibes of her streams.
** Fauna's original song, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0RMVJTLZOzQ "Let Me Stay Here"]]. Fitting with the song's theme being someone staying in bed.
* TearJerker: Has [[Tearjerker/{{hololive}} its own page]].
* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodCharacter: Omegaα, who is the first Hololive English staff member and according to A-chan, holds the same position as her when it comes to the technical side of the English branch. They revealed after the [=HoloCouncil=] debuts with an ominous teaser which implies they were going to play a big role in the future. Asides from retweeting announcements and posting cryptic tweets, the only major role they've played is introducing the Holostars English branch, TEMPUS, where they were shown in the TEMPUS debut manga, holding a saber gun similar to Altare's saber gun. Then, their last tweet is [=HoloMyth=]'s 2nd-year anniversary stream. After that, they went radio silent for much of 2023 and were absent when TEMPUS Vanguard debuted. What's more strange is their "The Advent of Omega" teaser being privated and their channel being removed from the featured tab of the Hololive English's channel. Because of this, many fans believed that Omegaα is quietly shelved with some bemoaning the wasted potential of what Omegaα could have been given their own character design and lore.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:U-W]]
* {{Ukefication}}: Gawr Gura is subjected to this more often than not in {{Slash Fic}}s, especially if she's paired with Amelia Watson. When those two are together on stream, Gura is actually the one who makes most of the advances towards Ame (though Ame does occasionally make advances of her own) which even throws off the detective every now and then. Also, Gura plays a lot of violent games on stream where she makes a lot of sadistic and snarky comments, especially when she plays ''VideoGame/DeadByDaylight'' and she is pursuing Survivors. Not to mention she's part '''shark'''. Despite that, due to her small size and appearance, how emotional she can get [[note]]Such as during sad cutscenes in games or when she sings sad music during karaoke[[/note]], how Ame takes the lead in any collabs just between the two [[note]]The early Minecraft collabs and the PHOGS collab are prime examples[[/note]], and how Gura tends to gush about Amelia even in her solo streams, fanfic authors and fan artists tend to [[{{Flanderization}} Flanderize]] her softer attributes and portray Gura as emotionally insecure and dependent on Amelia (or anyone else she's shipped with for that matter). It's also far from uncommon for fan art to exaggerate Gura's TokenMiniMoe status and have her acting like, looking like, or flat out ''being'' a child, despite the fact that she's talked on stream about doing adult things like paying taxes and drinking alcohol.
* UnexpectedCharacter:
** Some of the meme review guests may apply, such as Roboco and Aki, though the latter had foreshadowing as Coco has mentioned her name fondly in past meme reviews.
** Pekora being chosen for a sake collab as she doesn't have the same reputation for drinking as a few others.
** Roboco's ''VideoGame/AmongUs'' collab on the 9th of November, 2020 could certainly be a good example due to the rather wide mix of girls in it. Aki, Luna, and Suisei aren't surprising as the first two are the rest of the [=AnPonTan=] grouping, and Suisei being a fellow Original Gen idol (also a Project Winter reunion of Aki, Roboco and Suisei). The surprise comes from the rest: Iofi and Risu (Indonesia branch), Nene (Fifth Gen), Calli, Amelia, and Gura (English Branch). Many has raised questions as to how exactly this came to be in the first place.
** On September 13th, 2020, Mori Calliope asked on stream if anyone could guess who would be her first 1-on-1 Japanese branch collab partner moments before she revealed it. The most popular guesses were Suisei (who has expressed interest in Calli multiple times before), Rushia (who is thematically very similar to Calli and has acknowledged that they look like sisters so they would make a great collab), and even Watame (who doesn't have a strong connection like the previous two but is known for her raps, just like Calli). She gave a hint that her collab partner is learning English (which is still a lot of members) before revealing that it's none other than ''Korone'', who is historically known for being a ShrinkingViolet and reserving most of her 1-on-1 collabs for Okayu.
** While the fandom somewhat acknowledges their friendship based on Twitter and stream chat interactions, nobody had expected that [=HoloEN=]'s Gura would show up on Shion's 2020 birthday stream, even sending her a short celebratory video message that she had made and translated herself.
** Roberu's Christmas stream featured him accepting calls, while most people who called were expected (e.g: Other Holostars, and Hololive girls who frequently collab with them such as Fubuki or Matsuri), many (including Roberu) were surprised when Creator/YukiOno showed up. An even bigger shock came later on when Tokino Sora of all people called up which caught even more people off guard.
** In the 9th of February in 2021, Ollie hosted an Apex practice stream. It started as a regular Apex stream with her training her skills on the game, until Astel showed up in the middle of it and the stream suddenly turned into an Apex guerilla collab. It's worth mentioning that this was also Ollie's first collab with a member of the Holostars and Astel's first 1-on-1 collab with a Hololive girl.
** In late-March 2021, Rikka held a 3D live concert to celebrate 100k subscribers. Halfway through, he debuts his new original song "Spiral Tones" a duet song between him and Mori Calliope, not only marking the first collab between holoEN and holostars, but also the first duet original between a hololive and holostars member. [[note]] Rikka/Matsuri and Oga/Risu have done duets before and Astel/Ollie uploaded a duet the same month but those are all cover songs [[/note]]
** On April 4th, 2021, Calliope hosted her first birthday call-in stream. While it was an open call that anyone could join, she mentions that she specifically invited everyone she collaborated with by that point [[note]]holo -Myth-, Korone, Watame, Rikka, Ollie, Reine[[/note]] to come and greet her. Everyone who called in was expected and no one outside of that list appeared until A-chan joined two-thirds through the stream, surprising Calli and the deadbeats with her unexpected appearance and fluent English.
** Rikkaoid and Suisei's Karaoke King Streams may come off as this with unexpected guests show up, including veterans like Fuji Aoi and many other Vtubers from various places such as independent Vtuber Hachi.
* UnnecessaryMakeover: Some fans aren't too keen on Arurandeisu's YoungerAndHipper version and preferred him as a SilverFox. While Vesper's 2.0 redesign was well received for its level of detail, there were quite a few fans who preferred his 1.0 design due to it being much more vampire-like, with goth fashion, UndeathlyPallor, and more obviously pointed ears.
* ViewerGenderConfusion:
** Given her {{Bifauxnen}} looks, one could be forgiven for thinking Hiodoshi Ao is a member of Holostars. People hypothesized her silhouette as that of Kanade Izuru (Given their short hair and similarly musician appearance) before her unit's debut.
** Due to his cute appearance and ability to put on a female voice, there have been instances of viewers mistaking Miyabi for a girl in his own chat, much to his amusement and occasional frustration.
** Hakka's androgynous appearance and wide vocal range has lead a few to mistake him for female.
** Former Holostars member Kira and Kaoru have very feminine looks, which can make others mistook them as Hololive members. Though Kaoru can easily debunk this given how low his voice is. Meanwhile, Kira has a higher voice pitch which adds more confusion.
** Rio isn't much more androgynous than his fellow Holostars members but his voice could make anyone confused him as a girl. Even the other members thought he was a girl when they first met him but they clarified several times to the viewers that Rio is a guy.
* ViewerPronunciationConfusion:
** Calliope's name is pronounced "kuh-LYE-uh-pee" in English, but the way her name is written in Japanese - かりおぺ - makes the pronunciation "KAH-ree-oh-peh". Thankfully, she also answers to "Calli". Ollie pronounces her as "Cal-lee-O-pee", likely unaware of how it's supposed to be pronounced.
** Initially, Gura caused some pronunciation confusion as she tended to pronounce her own name inconsistently, sometimes pronouncing it with a hard English "R" (pronounced "goo-rah"), sometimes with a softer Japanese "R" (which feels like a soft "D" when spoken, pronounced similar to "goo-dah"). The fact that the name ''gura'' itself comes from Latin did little to alleviate things for a while. After many years, she and others have consistently settled on pronouncing it the Japanese route.
** Hakos Baelz's name is rather unusual: [[https://youtu.be/SR7H1koBX5k Baelz is mean to be said like "bells"]], but because of her preferred nickname of Bae (pronounced as "bay") and most people calling her that for much of her career, viewers and even other talents, often misinterpret the pronunciation as "Bae-lz". This even led Bae to briefly contemplates changing the official pronunciation to match what everyone else was saying.
* ViewerSpeciesConfusion:
** Fubuki Shirakami is frequently mistaken for a cat, since she [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1kbh5A2XWkI meows]] in reaction to a lot of things. Also, her 2D model is very rarely shown from the waist down, which obscures her fox tail.
** Polka Omaru is often confused for a rabbit due to her big, long ears. She's a fennec fox, a subspecies of fox known for their large ears.
** Koyori Hakui also experiences this kind of problem, with her even clarifying that she is a coyote, not a cat or a fox.
* VindicatedByHistory:
** When hololive first began, it was seen as a neat but minor and not super popular group, in large part because while its idol focus appealed to the Japanese fanbases, its popularity was dwarfed by other idol groups and people like WebAnimation/KizunaAi. Flashfoward to 2019, and Hololive has become incredibly popular thanks to its colorful cast of characters, tight-knit community, and the amount of dedicated fan translators to spread the word about the group. By 2020, its become so popular that an American branch has been expressed as an interest by the creators. To put into perspective how much this trope was at play, by the end of 2020, each of the new talent brought in that year had successfully managed to catch up to older members or even surpass them within a few months.
** Coco's "un-idol" like character as well as her tendency to speak American English meant that early expectations from the fanbase was that she wouldn't be very popular. But those very traits ended up in her becoming extremely popular across a burgeoning worldwide fanbase and becoming one of the fastest growing channels in the group to the point where she became hololive's most Superchatted member, and indeed the most Superchatted youtuber globally.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JO0Y8znLtCs Sakura Miko was originally scouted by YAGOO himself]] to star in the ''Sakura Miko Project'' under Cover Corp to be their direct Kizuna AI competitor in August of 2018. It flopped and she was sent to hololive in a sort of soft-reboot, debuting right as GAMERS was debuting while also not being part of it, which left her in a very awkward spot and unable to get any real traction, being the least subbed hololive vtuber during most of the early days. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rXCU5QDG90Q She even thought about quitting, but Mio and Subaru convinced her to keep going]]. Then one day, out of a fan suggestion, she decided to play ''Videogame/GrandTheftAutoV'', went viral, and ended up not only revitalizing her [=VTubing=] career outright, but also [[https://youtu.be/GXFRiqxZAT0?t=227 by her own admission, it gave her a huge confidence boost when she was struggling to grow]] and [[UnlikelyHero planted the first seed to what would later become hololive's big boom in the west.]] All of this would eventually lead to her being the first hololive member from the 0th Gen to reach the 1 million subs.
* WatchItForTheMeme: Most people who get into watching hololive content likely did so because of the group's wackier personalities (e.g. Matsuri or Korone) rather than anything actually idol-related. It speaks volumes when the more dedicated to "singing and dancing" idols of the group like Sora and especially [=AZKi=] get relatively fewer fan clips than the others. EN members', especially [[BreakoutCharacter Gura]], rapid popularity growth is mostly attributed to various memes about them.
* WhatDoYouMeanItsNotForKids:
** One of the Haachama Cooking videos, BITCH MADE PASTA, was, for some reason, flagged by the [=YouTube=] algorithm as being [[https://www.reddit.com/r/Hololive/comments/l48z5w/bitch_made_pasta_got_verified_as_a_youtube_kids/ children's content.]]
** Coco's Old [=MacDonald=] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KeDXk9OJ6bw cover]] was also marked for kids by [=YouTube=], but it's actually a SubvertedKidsShow; several of the verses include Miko saying FAQ and Coco Kaine also saying nothing but swear words.
** The ''VideoGame/FridayNightFunkin'' GameMod ''VideoGame/HoloFunk'' has garnered [[PopCulturalOsmosis enough sustained attention from those unfamiliar with hololive itself]] to the point that the idols featured in the mod have seen use in animation channels clearly meant for younger Western viewers. Never mind the fact that by the time ''[=HoloFunk=]'' [[note]]Itself featuring explicit language and implications of [[AssShove Asacoco use]], both courtesy of Coco[[/note]] hit its peak in popularity, hololive had amassed ''heaps'' of moments that are decidedly ''not'' for a young audience.
** As Goldbullet pointed out while streaming the visual novel, ''Doppelganger'' is inexplicably labelled with an ESRB E10+ rating on Steam, despite being laden with ContentWarnings (including ones for ''cannibalism''.)
* WhatTheHellCostumingDepartment: Some of the outfit variations for individual members have gotten some confused reactions by fans.
** [=AZKi=]'s second outfit, while bringing her hair style closer to what it is until late 2022, has been questioned for making her dress from head to toe in [[DressedAllInRubber rubber]], which her first and third outfits notably lack.
** Subaru's casual outfit isn't considered bad-looking, but it's considered a bit puzzling due to downplaying her {{Tomboy}} style that her default outfit and School Uniform-style outfit make much more present.
** The [[AdaptationDyeJob pink hair]] on Rushia's Necromancer Princess outfit is considered cute, but rather inconsistent when considering how all of her other outfits give her green hair.
** Kiara and Gura's casual outfits both give them distinct cat motifs. Gura is more perplexing since she still retains the shark motif alongside it.
* {{Woolseyism}}: While certain liberties with translations are to be expected from fan clippers, the official Hololive youtube channel will go through the effort of translating their animated shorts into several languages, and are not afraid to take some liberties in order to make the same joke in different cultures and [[ShownTheirWork reference that particular language audience's in-jokes in the context of the shorts.]]
