* CatharsisFactor:
** The main draw of these fics is seeing [[HateSink Lila]] get [[LaserGuidedKarma what she deserves]], often with a bit of much-needed humiliation on the way down.
** "RUNNING AMOK", "WORLD BEYOND" and "CAGED" also serve as this for fans who want to see [[BigBad Gabriel]] get his comeuppance.
** "WORLD BEYOND: PART II" sees Félix get his comeuppance for betraying the heroes at the end of season 4.
* FridgeHorror: In "WORLD BEYOND: PART II", Amelie is shown to be more upset [[SkewedPriorities that the Graham de Vanily family will have their nobility stripped away because Félix collaborated with the world-wide terrorist Hawk Moth rather than the fact her son will be imprisoned for 50 years]]. Given that the family consists of [[UpperClassTwit upper-class twits]] that see their Anglo-Saxon blood [[MasterRace making them better than everyone else]], it's likely Amelie never saw Félix as her "real" son [[spoiler:since he was a sentimonster]].
* HarsherInHindsight:
** The prominent appearance of UsefulNotes/ElizabethII at the end of "WORLD BEYOND: PART II" can be this in the wake of her death a few weeks before that story's release. WordOfGod confirms her part in the story was conceived of before her death. It's especially harsh considering that one of the monuments Hawk Moth destroys in his rampage is Balmoral Castle, where the real-life Queen died.
** Adrien's willful decision to destroy Hawk Moth via Catalcysm in "WORLD BEYOND", considering a major subplot of season 5 is [[spoiler:Monarch being hit with a Cataclysm and accidentally stopping Ladybug from curing him, leaving to him [[YourDaysAreNumbered dying slowly]] for the rest of the season.]]
* MagnificentBastard: The version of [[BestServedCold Gabriel Agreste]] who appears in SEXUAL HARASSMENT is the most brilliant by far. Secretly the villainous Hawk Moth, his life completely turns around when he finds [[ConsummateLiar Lila Rossi]] attempting to sexually assault his son. After comforting Adrien, he spends hours finding evidence of Lila's many crimes, seeking to find as much rope as possible to hang her with. When confronted by Lila's angry mother, he calmly disproves the lies she was told and grants the apologetic woman the time needed to apologize to all her daughter's victims before pressing charges himself. Taking the opportunity to akumatize Lila, he sabotages her to make the ensuing fight a one-sided beating which results in Lila being sent to prison for among her other crimes attempting to aid Hawk Moth. Ending the story reviving his wife without stealing the miraculous, he stands out as the only version of Gabriel to get a happy ending.

* MoralEventHorizon:
** Lila crosses the line from "school bully" to "irredeemable villain" when she attacks Marinette with a knife at the end of "STALKING". She only goes downhill from there.
** Nathalie and Gabriel cross the line in "WORLD BEYOND" when they decide to take their campaign of terror worldwide and use the fact that Ladybug's influence doesn't reach that far to commit irreversible acts of destruction and murder to force her to surrender.
