* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic: The show has an absolutely '''''ROCKING''''' [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f8d3bW42aFY opening theme.]]
* CrossesTheLineTwice: The kids' idea of America and NASA is so outright parodic that it wraps around to being funny again, especially in conjunction with the actual place shown in the series.
* EnsembleDarkhorse: Hayabusa has a lot of fans. He even shows up in promotional magazine scans along with Sakamoto despite not having as many appearances as him.
* EscapistCharacter: Sakamoto. He is handsome, smart, a ChickMagnet (EvenTheGuysWantHim!), capable of nearly impossible (and amazing) deeds and is basically the epitome of coolness, as well as being a NiceGuy. No matter what [[GreenEyedMonster other characters who are envious of him try to do to sabotage him]], it never works, [[MagneticHero and indeed they often end up becoming fond of him as well]].
* EpilepticTrees:
** Sakamoto implies he goes to the nurse's office a lot, and it's implied that [[spoiler:his stated reason for leaving at the end isn't entirely truthful]]. This has led to the popular theory that he's actually [[SecretlyDying suffering from some sort of terminal illness]], which is why he's adopted his "live life to the fullest, regardless of what anyone thinks" philosophy.
** A theory popular among the Russian fandom states that Sakamoto is in fact the literal DeusExMachina.
* HarsherInHindsight: [[https://twitter.com/hartamanga/status/1691646313979605360 The author's sudden death by cancer just one month after her diagnosis]] makes the theory that Sakamoto is SecretlyDying almost chilling now.
* HilariousInHindsight: The jokes about Sakamoto being ''Videogame/{{Bayonetta}}'''s son becomes a little more fun due to Sakamoto's [[Creator/HikaruMidorikawa voice actor]] playing Marth in ''VideoGame/SuperSmashBros'', meaning the two characters actually interact in spirit as of said series' [[VideoGame/SuperSmashBrosForNintendo3DSAndWiiU fourth installment]] onwards.
* FanNickname: Swagamoto.
* HoYay: Sakamoto is a ChickMagnet, but he also has moments of this with [[EvenTheGuysWantHim other male characters]].
** Atsushi keeps a photo of Sakamoto and thinks of using it as his phone wallpaper after his HeelFaceTurn. Then in episode 2 he asks for a smile from him while being flustered the whole time. It's later confirmed right in the text that Acchan has a romantic crush on him. Episode 5 and episode 8 explicitly show him having a crush on Hayabusa as well.
** Sakamoto and Kubota, while already close friends, have very intimate moments that wouldn't look out of place with a romantic pairing. The teasing was at its most explicit in "When I Met Sakamoto-kun", when Kubota recalls how he first met Sakamoto -- by dropping his band-aid and Sakamoto picking it up and sliding it back on his finger with the whole scene mimicking a marriage proposal -- and Megumi and her friends nearby commented on how their first meeting was "the most romantic of all".
** Sakamoto and Hayabusa spend an entire segment sharing a large coat, none of them seem to mind the lack of personal space. Even when they are walking in the streets alone, they still kept the coat on.
** In Chapter 37/the final episode, [[spoiler: when Atsushi tearfully asks Sakamoto why he's not letting go of him, why he cares about what happens to him, Sakamoto uncharacteristically gives him a direct answer and tells Acchan that the way he can deal with anything that life throws at him is appealing. Later, Acchan vows to follow Sakamoto to America.]]
* JerkassWoobie: Atsushi towards the end of the series, [[spoiler:where he develops an inferiority complex towards Sakamoto after a long period of time having a crush on him and tries to sabotage the latter's graduation speech because of it. [[MyGodWhatHaveIDone He later realizes what he has been doing]] and [[InelegantBlubbering repeatedly apologizes to him]] after the speech is over. Thankfully he's never punished since Sakamoto plays it off as if his attack was staged]].
* MemeticMutation:
** "Sakamoto is Bayonetta's son." [[labelnote:Explanation]]Sakamoto is sometimes referred to as VideoGame/{{Bayonetta}}'s son, thanks to his dark, stylish appearance and flamboyant gestures. He's even got short hair, glasses, and a mole on the right side of his face. Even more hilarious adding to this is that via ''VideoGame/SuperSmashBros'', Sakamoto also has [[VideoGame/FireEmblem Marth's]] [[Creator/HikaruMidorikawa Japanese voice actor]]. Ironically this meme has fallen out of favor as of the release of ''VideoGame/SuperSmashBrosUltimate'' with Joker from ''VideoGame/Persona5'' being seen as Bayonetta’s only son because [[spoiler: unlike Joker, Sakamoto has yet to kill a false god just like Bayo]] as well as both being video game characters owned by Sega. To add insult to injury, VideoGame/{{Kirby}} is lumped in there sometimes for similar reasons as well.[[/labelnote]]
** Cool, ''Cooler, '''Coolest.''''' [[labelnote:Explanation]]The line at the opening narration is highly exploitable whenever something super stylish, usually done by Sakamoto or his memetic derivatives, occurs.[[/labelnote]]
* SignatureScene: The scene were Sakamoto sits down without a chair after Sera yanks it out is possibly the most memorable scene out of the whole series. It is a perfect demonstration of the antics of the show.
* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodCharacter: Megumi Fujita, one of the two people who genuinely has a meaningful romantic affection and interesting interaction with Sakamoto beside Atsushi, is given very little screen time and character development. The fact that she is voiced by Creator/MaiNakahara just made this feels even more wasted.
* SugarWiki/VisualEffectsOfAwesome: There is a scene in the episode where Sakamoto and the kids are walking on the white line where it's zoomed out. Even from a distance it looks like their legs are moving in and out in circular movements giving a cool 3D like effect even from a distance.
* TheWoobie: Kubota, he often gets bullied and overall has poor self-esteem prior to meeting Sakamoto, and [[spoiler:after Sakamoto leaves Gakuban High school, he has lost his first and possibly only friend]].
