* AlternativeCharacterInterpretation: When you realise Ray is forcibly capturing monsters of near-human level intelligence without consent, and trapping them inside a bottle in card form and only releasing them to fight monsters that will generally kick the ass of said captured monsters (and this is their only freedom).... However, the sequel series reveals they are actually loyal to him [[spoiler:to the point Eleking even performs a HeroicSacrifice for him]].
* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic:
** The main tune, especially during the Zetton/Gomora battle.
** Also, Eternal Traveler in the final battle against Zetton and Gomora.
* BadassDecay: Red King, from the first episode on.
* CompleteMonster: [[MonsterLord Alien Reiblood/Rayblood]] ("UltimateLifeForm") is an {{ancient|Evil}} evil tyrant who once ruled the galaxy. Eventually, he was destroyed and his spirit {{sealed|Evil In A Can}} in the planet Hammer for his unspeakable crimes, but his evil spirit still influenced the galaxy, his gene spreading across the stars to begin his plan. During his time as a spirit, Reiblood gave incredible power to the wicked Ultraman Belial, being directly responsible for [[Franchise/UltramanZero all the horrors Belial would inflict upon the universe]]. Shortly before the events of ''Ultra Galaxy'', Reiblood sealed [[AndIMustScream Ultraman in a mountain on Boris]] and [[ReforgedIntoAMinion Ultraseven in the Darkness Armor on Hammer]]. Reiblood compelled all those who inherited his power across the universe to fight to the death to become his successor, even if they were siblings, leading to most of their deaths. This successor would be destined to rage chaos and death across the universe, bringing worlds to near-collapse. Reiblood [[UngratefulBastard repaid a loyal follower]], Alien Mefilas, for reviving the darkness armor by allowing it to kill him and forging him into a mindless slave. When Rei refuses to become a successor, Reiblood takes control of another Darkness Armor and attempts to take over his body so he can continue his reign.
* EvilIsCool: Kate's monsters are far more powerful than Rei's. Her Zetton is especially infamous for being ludicrously [[LightningBruiser strong and agile]] compared to the slow, lumbering Zettons in other series, to the point that it can perform backflips and flying kicks with ease.
* HeartwarmingInHindsight: Honestly, we have seen many sympathetic Kaiju but this series elevated them to the point where even wild Kaiju could bond with other living beings. Series/UltramanX is one of the best examples, where the main protagonist has bonded with his Gomora since he was a child. Even other kaiju that were never good such as Birdon and Pandon, have had more heroic portrayals in later shows.
* JustHereForGodzilla: Many of the viewers only watch this show for the kaiju and their battles.
* SugarWiki/MostWonderfulSound: Zetton's signature, er, noise thingy: ''Z-Ton''.
* SpiritualAdaptation:
** One can't help but wonder if this show is a live-action version of ''WesternAnimation/GodzillaTheSeries''.
** It could also be a live-action take of ''Franchise/{{Pokemon}}''. Hilariously, the first live-action film, ''Film/PokemonDetectivePikachu'', premiered years later.
* {{Squick}}: Bemstar is one of the cutest monsters in the whole show, right?... But hey, what's that stone tablet on his chest. Actually, its a second mouth, which you know, opens to reveal his insides.
* TheWoobie: Rei in general. He gets put through the wringer by the various events of the series
