* AlternateCharacterInterpretation: Was Lezarno really an inept magician, or was the whole thing an act?
* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic: The whole soundtrack. The cast can really sing! As an added bonus, the musical song score was written by Stephen Schwartz, the person responsible for such hits as "[[Theatre/{{Wicked}} Defying Gravity]]," "[[Theatre/{{Pippin}} Corner of the Sky]]," "[[WesternAnimation/ThePrinceOfEgypt When You Believe]]," and "[[WesternAnimation/{{Pocahontas}} Colors of the Wind]]"[[note]]lyrics only[[/note]]!
* EnsembleDarkhorse: Creator/BrentSpiner's Stromboli for serving up a glorious helping of HamAndCheese.
* SugarWiki/FunnyMoments:
** After the Blue Fairy turns Pinocchio into a real boy:
--->'''Stromboli''': A real boy! Who needs a real boy? Nobody will pay to see a real boy. You can't do this to me!
--->'''Blue Fairy''': Of course I can. I am the Blue Fairy.
** Cue Blue Fairy kicking Stromboli's ass with her wand.
* HamAndCheese: Again, Creator/BrentSpiner's over-the-top performance is one of the film's few bright spots.
* SugarWiki/HeartwarmingMoments: "Since I Gave My Heart Away". The Sonya Isaacs version doesn't disappoint either.
* OlderThanTheyThink: The [[Series/TheAdventuresOfPinocchio 1972 Italian TV miniseries]] directed by Luigi Comencini already gave more AdaptationExpansion to Geppetto (played by Nino Manfredi) and added new scenes that show his point of view while Pinocchio is away.
* OneSceneWonder: Creator/WayneBrady as Lezarno the Magician; Creator/ReneAuberjonois as Professor Buonrigazzo; Music/{{Usher}} as the Ringleader.
* SoOkayItsAverage: Creator/DrewCarey's infamous role as the titular character is balanced out by Creator/BrentSpiner's spectacular performance as [[BigBad Stromboli]], and the rest of the film doesn't have much else to offer than a few {{One Scene Wonder}}s and -- as pointed out by WebVideo/MusicalHell -- [[TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodPlot some wasted ideas that aren't expanded upon]].
* TearJerker:
** Near the end, when [[spoiler: Stromboli attempts to take Pinocchio away, most of the song Since I Gave My Heart Away.]]
** In the same scene, when Geppetto learns that the Blue Fairy can't help him any longer, he makes another wish--he wants her to transform him into "wood, or stone, or clay," because he [[spoiler: can't bear the thought of losing his son]]. Yes--Geppetto is ''wishing for death.''
