Sin Cara is a gimmick used in Wrestling/{{WWE}}. He was first portrayed by Wrestling/{{Mistico}}, and for a period of time by Wrestling/{{Hunico}} when Mistico was under suspension, before the two would battle it out on who was the rightful Sin Cara, with Mistico being victorious. Unfortunately due to injuries and other factors, Mistico left WWE in 2014, and Hunico took over the role until being released in turn in 2019.

Sin Cara (Hunico) formed a tag team with Wrestling/{{Kalisto}} named The Lucha Dragons, and they held the [[Wrestling/{{WWENXT}} NXT]] Tag Team Championship for nearly four months.

!! Tropes associated with Sin Cara include:
* ArchEnemy: Wrestling/{{Hunico}}, Chavo Guerrero and Wrestling/AlbertoDelRio.
* BerserkButton: When Wrestling/BaronCorbin tried to take his mask off during a match between them, Sin Cara went so ballistic that he threw one of the announcer's chairs at him, and the match had to get called off.
* BigBrotherMentor: Wrestling/{{Rey Mysterio|Jr}} is this to Sin Cara, as Cara has had trouble fitting in with WWE style of wrestling. Now is one to Kalisto in NXT.
* CoolMask: He is a luchadore, it goes with the territory. Posibbly a [[SubvertedTrope subversion]], though, as while the mask [[AwesomeButImpractical is certainly cool, it's also really hard to see out of,]] contributing to recurring issues with botching. Since October 2017, he's switched it out with a different mask that is much easier to see through.
* CostumeCopycat: Another Sin Cara, who was revealed to be Hunico, in revenge for Sin Cara previously being inserted into Hunico's former role as Mistico.
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: Despite the Sin Cara character's general reputation for being a botch machine, Hunico has gained the reputation of being a legitimate tough guy backstage, having reportedly beaten the crap out of both Sheamus and Simon Gotch when they crossed him.
* TheDeterminator: Hunico!Sin Cara suffered a shoulder injury [[https://youtu.be/WXqNg2Ls0Bw in a match with Big E]]. Unlike the first Sin Cara, this didn’t stop him from finishing the match properly. Even delivering a Rolling Senton from the top rope!
* DisneyOwnsThisTrope: CMLL owns the Mistico gimmick and name. WWE owns the Sin Cara name. He's now with AAA, where he's officially named as Myzteziz. Made even more cleared that CMLL has a new Mistico and WWE uses Hunico as Sin Cara.
* EpicFail: A t-shirt WWE marketed for him had to be pulled after a [[http://www.prowrestling.net/artman/uploads/1/SinCara.jpg decidedly phallic image]] was discovered in the design.
** And maybe to a lesser extent. His WWE career up till his injury, which was far from botch free. This is due to him not being put through development system first to get used to the WWE style of wrestling, get used to his new mask or learn any English and was put on TV straight away. It's a generally accepted fact that Mistico is the reason why ''all'' talent (even if they're foreign and/or indie stars) were mandated to go through developmental first to learn the WWE style, for several years. [[note]]This rule lasted from Sin Cara's flop in 2011 to 2016, with the only exception during that time frame being Wrestling/{{Sting}}. The rule ended in 2016 with the Royal Rumble debut of Wrestling/{{AJ Styles}}, followed by many other new wrestlers coming straight to the main roster such as Gallows and Anderson, TJ Perkins, and James Ellsworth. [[/note]]
* FinishingMove: When Mistico was under the mask it was 619 to La Mistica, a tilt-a-whirl headscissors into an armbar, while he was in CMLL. In WWE he does the move without the 619 (since Rey Mysterio) or transitioning into an armbar (because of Alberto Del Rio) which makes it look odd. Also used to do the evolution in WWE, a moonsault side slam which was botched in his first match (actually Primo's fault that time but still).
** Hunico's is a [[Wrestling/JeffHardy High Angle Senton Bomb]].
* FragileSpeedster: The Místico incarnation of Sin Cara in particular was known for this, as a result of his even-more-well-known botches. His last televised match had him managing to dislocate ''his ring finger''.
* GameBreakingInjury: Mistico!Cara was out for five months due to a slipped patella in his left kneecap. Then was out some for other injuries.
* GivingSomeoneThePointerFinger: Usually his way of saying, "I'm coming for ya".
* GoodColorsEvilColors: In the feud with Hunico, who was billed as Sin Cara Negro after changing his gear to black and silver, and Sin Cara was billed as Sin Cara Azul, and was dressed in blue and gold.
* InASingleBound: Sin Cara's entrance consists of jumping over the ring ropes (in RealLife, it's done through the means of a trampoline disguised by camera trickery).
* MaskedLuchador: As per the Mexican tradition.
* MeaningfulName: Sin Cara means Faceless.
* NoSell: In his first WWE match, after being (accidentally) dropped on his chest from the top rope to the floor his amusing response is to angrily rise, slide back in the ring and repeat the process.
* OminousLatinChanting: His theme song.
* OrangeBlueContrast: Special lighting is used during his matches with the ring golden and the background deeply blue.
** TheArtifact: It was originally supposed to match his ring gear - but now his ring gear is red and white.
%%* PintSizedPowerhouse
* PutOnABus: After Mistico failed a Wellness test, he was taken out during Money in the Bank. Then was away due to his injuries he suffered. The he released from WWE in 2014. Not that one would notice really since Hunico is under the mask.
* ReligiousBruiser: To a degree as Mistico, given who his mentor was. Sin Cara has been seen taking a prayer like pose on occasion as well.
* SignatureMove: Handspring back elbow feint.
* TheVoiceless: Subverted. Sin Cara's voiceless most of the time due to Mistico's lack of English. When "Sin Cara" started talking it was the first hint that it was really an imposter (Hunico). However there are a few exceptions:
** On WWE's Backstage Fallout that airs on Website/YouTube, he does speak in Spanish, and have Rey Mysterio translate for him.
** He finally ''sings'' in English in WWE's 2012 [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XXiLkCQkILY Christmas video]].
** As part of the Lucha Dragons, he's slightly more vocal, but speaks nothing but Spanish, which Kalisto occasionally translates.
