Andrew [=McLean=] "Drew" Galloway IV (born 6 June 1985) is a Scottish inger who first gained fame in the United Kingdom under his real name before becoming known globally for his time in Wrestling/WWE under the ring name Drew [=McIntyre=], on two separate occasions.

Since the age of fifteen, he spent years wrestling around the British Isles using the gimmick of "Thee" Drew Galloway, winning the Heavyweight titles of British Championship Wrestling (twice) and Insane Championship Wrestling (as its inaugural champion, no less) among others. Before too long, he signed with WWE in 2007 and Drew [=McIntyre=] was born. After a few months working an undefeated streak on SmackDown (and briefly going to Raw), [=McIntyre=] was sent to developmental territores Ohio Valley and Florida Championship Wrestling, where he enjoyed both solo runs and tag team work with Stu Sanders (both resulting in championships in FCW), as well as occasionally rekindled a rivalry from across the pond with Sheamus O'Shaunessy.

He resurfaced on mainline WWE television in 2009, with a new gimmick where Wrestling/VinceMcMahon himself had declared [=McIntyre=] to be a future world champion, going on to dub him "TheChosenOne". His main roster undefeated streak continued in spades, as he went on to win the Intercontinental Championship and become the bane of Wrestling/TeddyLong's existence before finally losing the championship a year later. Following this he would briefly form a tag team with Wrestling/CodyRhodes to both torment Wrestling/MattHardy and Wrestling/Christian as well as capture the WWE Tag Team Championship, and after that team as well as enter a romance storyline with Wrestling/KellyKelly which ultimately went nowhere, with Drew slowly but surely being relegated to Superstars regular and jobber status on the main shows. This led him to eventually join Wrestling/HeathSlater and Wrestling/JinderMahal in a faux rock band stable called 3MB, which lasted nearly two years before he was released in June 2014.

Upon returning to the indies, Drew Galloway proceeded to make big waves, coming back to ICW in a Trope BigDamnHeroes run-in where he both saved and destroyed former best friend Jack Jester as well as cut a "mission statement" promo citing his intent to spark a revolution to "save" pro wrestling, inspired by the Battle of Bannockburn where Scotland first won its independence in 1314. Since then he's enjoyed meteoric momentum as one of the hottest acts on the independent scene on both sides of the Atlantic, winning the EVOLVE Championship, beating Jester to regain the ICW Heavyweight Championship, and turning both into World Championship titles by defending them in locales and against talents of several different nationalities. He also fought in WhatCulture Pro Wrestling, where he held the WCPW World Title until his resigning with WWE, dropping the title in a 30-man rumble match.

In 2015 he signed with Total Nonstop Action in a run which initially consisted of leading battles against ever-present interchanging PowerStable threats, before eventually competing for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship, sharing a ring with Wrestling/KurtAngle several times on his farewell tour, and finally, becoming TNA World Heavyweight Champion. He eventually lost the championship and then turned heel (the same in reverse order had taken place earlier in ICW), undergoing a series of short feuds as well as becoming the Impact Grand Champion temporarily before ultimately parting ways with the now-renamed Impact Wrestling in February 2017.

To the surprise of many, he turned up at WWE's NXT [=TakeOver=]: Orlando event about six weeks later and announced he was making his return to the promotion under their NXT}} NXT brand. This culminated in him winning the NXT Championship from Wrestling/BobbyRoode at [=TakeOver=]: Brooklyn III. In 2018 he was drafted to Raw as part of the Superstar Shake-up and as Wrestling/DolphZiggler's teammate, eventually winning the Tag Team Championships. After spending much of 2019 in the upper-midcard, he entered 2020 triumphantly, first by winning the Wrestling/RoyalRumble then finally the WWE Championship at Wrestling/WrestleMania 36, making him the first Scottish-born WWE Champion, and also making him the thirty-first WWE Wrestling/TripleCrownChampion in the process.

In 2021, Pro Wrestling Illustrated named him the fourth best wrestler of 2021, behind Wrestling/KennyOmega, Wrestling/RomanReigns and Wrestling/BobbyLashley.

-----
!! "These tropes are Claymore Country!":
* AbortedArc: Was one of the Scottish Leg winners in the WCPW Pro-Wrestling World Cup '17, but re-signed with WWE for the NXT brand, and an extra playoff between the runner-ups (Joe Coffey and B.T. Gunn) had to be done in order to decide the second scottish representant.
* AccuserOfTheBrethren: His FaceHeelTurn in late 2023 was at least partically motivated by Jey Uso's HeelFaceTurn a few months earlier, wherein Drew refuses to forgive Jey for his actions as part of the Bloodline, and believes that if he can be forgiven by the rest of the WWE universe, then there's no point in morality.
* TheAce:
** After four years of mostly losing, Drew Galloway caught Wrestling/ChrisHero by surprise with a double under hook DDT, became champion of EVOLVE and promised a revolution. Next year he was still champion, calling himself a World Champion and also won the WWN[='=]s Open The Freedom Gate and Outback Championship Wrestling title in Australia, his native Scotland's Insane Championship Wrestling Heavyweight and Scottish Wrestling Alliance main singles titles and then won gold in Danish Pro Wrestling. Really earned an audience for his "revolution".
** He's become this in his second WWE run, too, with 2020 seeing him go over Wrestling/BrockLesnar and Wrestling/RandyOrton and, owing to several absences and realignments Wrestling/BeckyLynch going on hiatus due to her pregnancy, Wrestling/RomanReigns also going on hiatus before drifting to the dark side, and a host of other injuries is the closest thing to the proverbial "guy" that WWE has as of late 2020-early 2021.
* AHeroToHisHometown: His PopularityPower in Scotland needs to be seen to be believed. The fact that WWE allowed him to wrestle as a Face when they went over there, despite them always using him as a Heel the rest of the time speaks volumes already. Then there's his return to ICW. Upon being revealed as the es for his old-time best friend Jack Jester, the crowd absolutely exploded for him, continuing to go nuts even when he attacked Jester on the stage and put him through a table. This provided the prefect backdrop for his 1314 "mission statement" promo, which helped redefine quite a few fans' perception of him as a performer as well as set him up as a major face on the indy circuit overall.
* ArchEnemy:
** Chris Renfrew was shaping up to be this in ICW. However, after turning heel, it is most definitely Grado.
** In WWE he had... Wrestling/TeddyLong. Wrestling/MattHardy and Wrestling/Christian at least came pretty close in 2010.
** In TNA he quickly made enemies out of the Beat Down Clan and Wrestling/JeffJarrett's GFW invasion, then moved on into World Championship feuds, with Wrestling/BobbyLashley being the closest he got to obtaining a new sworn enemy.
** Wrestling/AndradeCienAlmas in NXT.
** Finn Bálor and the members of Wrestling/TheShield had been his main targets from fall 2018 to spring 2019.
** While Wrestling/BrockLesnar and Lashley certainly stepped up as formidable rivals in 2020, it is Wrestling/RandyOrton who emerged that year as Drew's most hated enemy in his WWE Championship run.
** Wrestling/JinderMahal in mid-2021 after Jinder costs Drew to win the Money In The Bank Briefcase.
** Happy Corbin and Madcap Moss in early 2022 after Corbin injured Drew's neck.
** Wrestling/KarrionKross became Drew's enemy after Kross interfered in Drew's matches and became Kross' target since his return to WWE.
** Wrestling/CMPunk : Issues between the pair have been building ever since Punk’s return to WWE at Survivor Series 2023, and were escalated when Punk suffered an injury at the hands of a Future Shock DDT from Drew at the Royal Rumble. [=McIntyre=] would come out and berate him, not before attacking his injured arm and sending him off to the sidelines. The feud reached a new level at [=WrestleMania=] 40 when CM Punk attacked [=McIntyre=] after his match with Seth Rollins, creating an opening for Money in the Bank winner Damian Priest to cash in his briefcase and claim the title.
* BadassLongcoat: Began wearing them in his entrances on WCPW and has kept them since, mostly without sleeves.
* BarbarianLonghair: Ever since his indie repackaging as an unstoppable badass, Drew's long black locks have been used in combination with his beard to accentuate his warrior image.
* BerserkButton: Slapping him. Beating him when he's already upset with you. Trying to burn him alive. Assaulting Grado in his presence when they're both face. Being Grado and challenging him when he's a heel. He's got several.
* BFS: One week prior to Survivor Series 2020, Drew received a Scottish Claymore as a gift from Sheamus prior to his match against Randy Orton that night. From then on, Drew would bring the sword with him as part of his entrance.
* BigDamnHeroes: His first appearance on Impact!, in the SSE Hydro Arena of his native Scotland, was under a hood, running off the Beat Down Clan who were doing their namesake to Grado and Wrestling/AlSnow, who had just resolved their own feud. You can guess the reaction when the hood was lifted.
* BloodKnight:
** In the TagTeam he formed with Dolph Ziggler. They make a point in their promos that they're not in the WWE for entertainment, but for competition, steamrolling any opponent they can find.
** It's continued in his singles run. [=McIntyre=] just loves to fight people. It still applies to his face run, as he's demanding that his opponents bring their best against him.
* Bookends: Drew made his WWE return during a major PPV in Orlando. Three years later, he finally won the WWE Championship in WWE's premiere event also held in Orlando.
* BraveScot: Especially as a face.
* CanonDiscontinuity: According to WWE, that time in 2007 when Drew was Dave Taylor's apprentice never happened. Funnily enough, even if it did it would still fit into his "undefeated streak" angle as Vince's Chosen One.
* TheChosenOne:
** Was outright called this when Wrestling/VinceMcMahon reintroduced him to TV in 2009 and shilled him as a future world champion. It didn't pan out... at least, not for his WWE career.
** When he returned to the independents and became the conquering hero for ICW and independent pro wrestling in general, he ended up literally turning both ICW and EVOLVE's Heavyweight Championship belts into world titles by defending them everywhere, proving Vince's prediction MetaphoricallyTrue... until 2020, however, when he finally became the WWE Champion, thus finally making the prophecy come true.
* CoolShades: Trope. Tried the look in Family Wrestling Entertainment, thinking it would make him look cool. But then he wondered if it made everyone think he was a bad guy. Then he threw them away and said wearing shades indoors made him feel like an idiot.
* CombatPragmatist: Drew cheats at least once every match when he's heel.
* ContinuityNod: When Wrestling/BobbyLashley and MVP began to openly scout him and tease Lashley's contention for the WWE Championship, [=McIntyre=] welcomed this challenge and said the WWE Universe has been waiting a long time for Lashley to step up and, in the champ's words, "Be the killer you are!" As most Impact Wrestling fans are aware, Drew is well acquainted with the tenacity of MVP as a leader and strategistThe Beat Down Clan forced Drew's faction The Rising to disband in 2015 as well as the true might of "The Destroyer" Lashleywho defeated Galloway for the TNA World Heavyweight Title in 2016.
* Crossover: He claimed the World status of the EVOLVE title after defending it in British Championship Wrestling against Johnny Moss and Kid Fite. The Insane Championship Wrestling title from defending it at DPW Hardcore X-Mas 8 in Denmark.
* DarkIsEvil: As a heel in his Chosen One persona, especially in 2015 as part of the Black Label.
* DarkIsNotEvil: As a face ever since his return to ICW, he's always been a ferocious bloodthirsty warrior fighting against complacency and entitlement. Even in WWE, through both face and heel turns, virtually none of his presentation was changed. Perhaps the only difference from heel to face in WWE was that they stopped referring to him as the "Scottish Psychopath."
* DeadpanSnarker: After his HeelFaceTurn at the tail end of 2019, [=McIntyre=] began displaying a much snarkier side of himself.
* DefeatMeansFriendship: Wrestling/JohnnyGargano and Rich Swann had a long running feud that lead to them finding mutual respect and teaming up to win the Open The United Gate titles, which they then vacated saying Dragon Gate USA was done and they were going to become the first tag team champions of EVOLVE... that didn't workout, so Gargano instead teamed up with another man learned to respect in defeat, Galloway.
* DefeatingTheUndefeatable: This is practically Drew's MO as a face. Wrestling/BrockLesnar for the title, Wrestling/BobbyLashley as he was starting to become a deadly threat again, Wrestling/RandyOrton at the most unhinged depths of his second Legend Killer run, Wrestling/Goldberg in less than three minutes...
* DemotedToExtra: Towards the last few years of his original WWE run. He fared much better the second time around.
* DidYouJustPunchOutCthulhu:
** From the moment of WALTER's debut, everyone from both branches of NXT was crushed like an ant. At the 2019 Survivor Series however, Drew easily eliminates the brute within 3 minutes as the first elimination from the match.
** During the 2020 Royal Rumble match, Drew, with a little help from Ricochet, eliminated Brock Lesnar, after the latter had eliminated 13 other superstars (which include two former world champions and two behemoths). Even as Lesnar tries to leave the arena, Drew continued to taunt the Beast. After winning the Rumble, Drew challenges Lesnar for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 36 and embarrassed Lesnar further on one episode of Raw by giving him 3 Claymore Kicks. On the Grandest Stage of Them All, Drew finally ended the Beast's title reign to win his first WWE Championship.
* TheDragon: to Wrestling/ShaneMcMahon
* EarnYourHappyEnding: After getting fired from WWE after a wasted potential run, building himself up again in the indies, then getting rehired by WWE and then clawing his way to the top, Drew finally won the WWE Championship at Wrestling/WrestleMania 36.
* EnemyMine: Rich Swann had been injured by the Premier Athlete Brand early on EVOLVE 34 while trying to save Wrestling/JohnnyGargano from them. Swann hadn't recovered by the time his title shot against Galloway had come up in the main event, but did his best anyway. As the match went on the Premier Athlete Brand ran out to continue attacking Swann but were all knocked away by Galloway, who then went back to wrestling. While he eventually won with a sleeper hold, the easier way out would have been to leave the "brand" to their own business.
* EvilIsPetty: Galloway claimed to appreciate Wrestling/TommyDreamer helping him get established in the United States and said he was a great role model, that he was only trying to end Dreamer's wrestling for his own good and that of his family... but Galloway couldn't resist interfering in Dreamer's match against The World's Cutest Tag Team and suggestively piling their bodies up.
* Expy:
** Wrestling/TheUndertaker in his prime, in several ways. He is a tall, imposing man who is surprisingly agile for his size and can have a great match with any style of wrestler. This makes a lot of sense when you consider that he's talked about The Deadman practically being his mentor during his WWE days. His howling taunt on the turnbuckle since returning to WWE partially dTropes Undertaker's post-victory kneeling pose, especially on Raw in 2018 when the lights turn full glowing blue. He has also taken Undertaker's mantle of being a WrestlingMonster with uniquely-styled and powerful theme music who eventually becomes TheConscience of WWE as a top-level face, all without deviating from his own personality -- which arguably makes him a truer heir to Undertaker's legacy than any supernatural wrestler that followed The Deadman.
** Wrestling/JeffJarrett. Jarrett was called the Chosen One in WCW, had an infamous Wrestling/Russo in power on his side at the time, then after leaving the promotion he went on to restore the prestige of the NWA World Heavyweight Championship by defending it everywhere whenever he carried it as part of TNA. The difference is Jarrett's actually been WCW World Champion, while the closest Drew got in WWE the first time was his initial Intercontinental title run. Ultimately he became WWE Champion in his second run with the company in the culmination of months of Claymore-kicking Brock Lesnar's ass... but to put in perspective what it took to get there, he had to get fired, completely drop the Chosen One mindset including the aftershock of its failure, reinvent himself as a warrior, give independent titles world championship status, come back through NXT and conquer that brand, overcome getting injured with help from Dolph Ziggler, take Raw by storm as part of a team with Ziggler, spend about a year being used by Baron Corbin and Shane [=McMahon=] against The Shield, take a sabbatical to deal with that, and then come back on his own as a house of fire, all before he could get to that defining moment where he kicked Lesnar out of the Royal Rumble.
* FaceHeelTurn: Undergoes a very slow, and gradual one in the latter half of 2023 after Jey Uso undergoes his own HeelFaceTurn and breaks away from The Bloodline and joins the RAW roster. Drew despises the Bloodline for costing him his title match against Wrestling/RomanReigns at the Clash at the Castle 2022 PLE and is incredulous that everyone else is willing to accept him with open arms and eventually decided that playing the hero wasn't getting him anywhere and decided to focus only on himself and making Jey's life miserable and anyone else who got in his way. He fully cemented his heel turn after attacking Jey and costing him and Wrestling/CodyRhodes their Undisputed Tag Team Championship match against Wrestling/TheJudgmentDay and officially allying himself with the group on the 11/13/23 edition of RAW.
* FallenHero: After his 2023 FaceHeelTurn. Far cry from the gallant and heroic individual he was just a year prior.
* FatalFlaw: Overconfidence, leading to an occasional lack of focus as well as easily getting frustrated when things didn't go his way. This was hangingd by a commentator at least once per match as a way of justifying why he was suddenly a jobber in WWE.
** Come his modern day heel run, it became obsession getting in the way of common sense. After being screwed out of winning the World title at Clash at the Castle, Drew would gradually start to turn to darkness after Jey Uso was welcomed to RAW with open arms, prompting Drew to start an obsessive crusade against him. Then at the Royal Rumble, he wound up being eliminated by CM Punk when he wasn't expecting it, resulting in him having an obsession with taking potshots and jabs at him when he was still injured. Come Wrestlemania XL, not only does an already battered Seth Rollins manage to actually get some momentum going after Drew decides to continuously taunt Punk, but after Drew mocks him after winning the title, Punk finally beats him down to the extent it allowed Damian Priest to cash in his Money in the Bank and end Drew's reign just as it began.
* FightingYourFriend: When he was booked against Wrestling/Colon by Family Wrestling Entertainment. He said it was a shame because he liked Carly's family and hoped buying him a drink could make up for the beating he was going to have to give him.
* FinishingMove: He had a few before he settled on the Future Shock (double arm DDT). After his WWE release, he kept doing the Future Shock, but added the Claymore (running single-leg dropkick), Iron Maiden (a marriage between the Regal Stretch and a Crossface), and occasionally a jumping piledriver; since his NXT return he's just been using the Claymore while the Future Shock is now just a SignatureMove. Starting after his 2021 move back to SmackDown, Drew added a new finishing sequence to his arsenal, and his very first submission: the Future Shock immediately followed by a modified, lethal-looking Kimura Lock.
* FourIsDeath: Drew won his first WWE Championship by defeating Brock Lesnar with four Claymore Kicks.
* GeorgeJetsonJobSecurity: Went through a storyline where he was one loss away from being fired...about four or five weeks in a row. Then, he actually did get fired... only to be re-hired the following week.
* GoodIsNotNice: Whenever he's been a face since 2014. He's out to fight for the good of professional wrestling, but he will get into the most violent brawls possible with anyone he has to face in that process, friend or foe.
* GuyLiner: While in Wrestling/ThreeMB.
* HeelFaceTurn: Went from arrogant, bloodthirsty villain to...arrogant, bloodthirsty hero in the leadup to Wrestling/RoyalRumble 2020. The key difference being that he stopped standing next to pseudo-authoritative heels to enforce their will on a Shield member and started engaging in interaction with the crowd and leading chants in his own support. The switch was solidified by Drew literally booting Wrestling/BrockLesnar out of the titular match and then going on to win the whole thing to universal jubilation.
* TheHero: Has taken this position for a time in both ICW and TNA, and finally did so again in WWE.
** In the former he took the ICW championship and kept up his promises by defending it outside so much it officially became a world title, but then when the competition got too stiff for too long he deconstructed the trope with a collective FaceHeelTurn alongside Jack Jester and Red Lightning where they still claim they're the heroes doing villainous things for the company's own good.
** In the latter he earned the #1 contendership for Ethan Carter's TNA World Heavyweight Championship at Bound for Glory only to end up winning Wrestling/MattHardy a spot in the match at the last minute and then getting pinned by Hardy at BFG, keeping [=EC3=] undefeated while Matt got the title. A few months and a double turn later, Matt got the same last-minute treatment, but apparently got others to take out his opponents—at which point Drew cashed in his Feast or Fired title shot to outsmart Matt and take the strap.
** While his NXT run did tease at how well he could perform in this role, the first year and a half of his WWE main roster run seemed to be centered around heel alliances centered around taking down the members of The Shield. Though [=McIntyre=] did spend much of 2018 as a fearsome HeroKiller, the first half-plus of 2019 largely saw him act as an enforcer to Wrestling/BaronCorbin and Wrestling/ShaneMcMahon, with Drew's main event hopes slowly fading by the day. Then a brief sabbatical saw him emerge in late 2019 as the looser, more confident, snarkier, absolute terminator that ICW and TNA once knew, before finally targeting Brock Lesnar in 2020 from the Royal Rumble to [=WrestleMania=], taking the WWE World Heavyweight Championship from The Beast Incarnate, and successfully retaining his critical acclaim through his title run to date.
*** For comparison, every time the members of The Shield went after Brock for the title since they first broke up, they either failed to take him down, had to do it through cheating means, failed to earn and keep the unanimous support of the fans, and/or otherwise went down early to other circumstances -- thus even their victories guaranteed Lesnar had an open door to claim back the title at any time. Drew [=McIntyre=], in one try, is so far shaping up to be the active roster's best shot at making sure the championship never has to go back to Lesnar again -- solving the OutsideContextProblem that The Hounds of Justice failed to completely get a handle on over the course of five years.
* HeroKiller: Drew's second main roster run in WWE has to be seen to be believed. In a little under a year, he's categorically torn apart Wrestling/DolphZiggler, Finn Bálor, and every single member of Wrestling/TheShield, and may have been the straw that broke the camel's back and influenced Wrestling/KurtAngle's decision to retire by making Angle tap out to his own finisher. It's hard to remember the last time a heel wrestler in WWE has been booked to such an intimidating level of strength. Even Wrestling/BraunStrowman, who WWE had already been actively calling "The Monster Among Men" at the time, was getting his head kicked in by a Claymore far more often than he was taking Drew out with his running powerslam.
* HesBack: Returned to WWE, first to the NXT brand, then to Raw as part of a TagTeam with Wrestling/DolphZiggler.
* HostileShowTakeover: Took over the EVOLVE 62 recap with Wrestling/EC3.
* HumiliationConga: The Jetson storyline above saw Drew losing about five or six matches in a row to increasingly pathetic opponents. When he finally got his job back, it was from pinning the three-foot-tall Hornswoggle (who later ended up becoming one of his friends as 3MB's Mascot/4th man).
* Hypocrite: Seth Rollins accuses him of being one in the lead-up to their World Championship title match at Wrestlemania XL. For all Drew's talk about Seth being obsessed with the Bloodline and unable to move on, he himself is obsessed with CM Punk and can't resist every opportunity to rub injuring Punk to the degree he had to miss Wrestlemania to his face. The reason? Punk eliminated him at the Royal Rumble. Additionally, Seth calls out Drew not wanting the Bloodline to interfere in their match and "taint" his victory, but it's pointed out that his victories over Cody Rhodes only came about because the Bloodline interfered, meaning Drew has little issue with interference as long as it benefits him. Karma catches up to [=McIntyre=] in spectacular fashion at Wrestlemania XL, where although he wins the World Heavyweight title off of Seth Rollins, he once again takes the opportunity to rub it in CM Punk's face, sparking Punk to attack him and leaving him vulnerable to a cash-in by Damian Priest, tarnishing what should have been his moment of triumph.
** Notably, his beef with Jey Uso is a product of his grievance towards the Bloodline costing him his title match in Cardiff. However, Drew himself would show zero issue with that same Bloodline interfering in his match with Cody Rhodes in his favor. He would return the favor to the Bloodline by also attacking Seth while Seth was trying to help Jey and Cody fend off the Bloodline.
* ICallItVera: He names his claymore sword "Angela".
* InternationalShowdownByProxy: His pre-WWE feuds with Irishman Sheamus O'Shaunessy, especially in Irish Whip Wrestling where they feud for the IWW International Heavyweight Championship.
* JerkassHasAPoint: Despite certainly being a bad guy at the time, what with his blind, half-insane conquest of vengeance against Jey Uso and Wrestling/SethRollins, Drew's comments toward Wrestling/CMPunk after his late 2023 return, calling him a self-serving Narcissist and a terrible leader, resonated enough after Punk's notoriously volatile parting with his previous employer that the crowd at the time started cheering Drew instead of the once invincibly popular Punk.
* LargeHam: The vast majority of his promos since leaving WWE.
* LevelGrinding: After his first release from WWE, he seemed to appear almost everywhere at once, on both sides of the ocean, taking as many bookings as he could and building his experience. Even his body went through a metamorphosis, and by the time he re-signed with WWE, he was very obviously more mature and well-rounded as a performer, and WWE took notice.
* LightningBruiser: Drew's most obvious strength is, well, his strength. Being 6'5 and 265 pounds (120 kilos and just shy of 19 stone for European tropers), Drew has incredible power, able to lift guys like Wrestling/BigShow, and his strikes hit like a truck. But he is also deceivingly agile for a man of his size. He's able to do kip ups, and can dive over the top rope with a somersault plancha!
* LongHairedPrettyBoy: More hunky than usual examples but he is a TallDarkAndHandsome MrFanservice.
* ManInAKilt: In his early indies, WWE (2007) and FCW runs. He gave up the kilt in 2009 in favor of trunks. He wears them again during his entrance in the inaugural NXT Takeover: [=WarGames=]. He officially brought the look back on the main roster toward the end of 2020, dusting off his old blue kilt as entrance gear and capping the look by also toting out a legit BFS Scottish claymore.
* ManlyTears: Completely contrasting the winners of the last six or so years, especially Wrestling/ShinsukeNakamura's manic dancing and Wrestling/SethRollins' wide-eyed disbelief, Drew's surprisingly humble, heartfelt reaction to winning the titular match of Wrestling/RoyalRumble 2020 was to drop to his knees with tears in his eyes. He had a very similar reaction, and even broke the fourth wall to acknowledge his supporters by giving a "Thank you" gesture to the camera, after winning the WWE Championship at [=WrestleMania=] 36.
* MiseryBuildsCharacter: Pretty much the entire crux of his WWE main event run, whether Drew is a heel or (especially) a face. Everytime EarnYourHappyEnding is on Drew's site, circumstances keep happening to undermine it time and time again. Fitting for a man who is popularly known for his original entrance theme titled "Broken Dreams".
* MisplacedRetribution: While he's justified in hating The Bloodline for their cheating ways, the one who actually screwed him in his match against Roman was his younger cousin, Solo Sikoa, but as far as Drew is concerned they're all equally guilty and the target of his hatred.
* MrFanservice: Acknowledged as a good looking man on-screen in his debut (by Wrestling/VinceMcMahon himself) and is fairly popular with the female demographic. In 2020, he even nicknamed himself "The Sexy Scotsman".
* NeverMyFault: Perhaps his greatest FatalFlaw. Drew's been legitimately screwed over time and again by the likes of the Bloodline, but has now developed a victim complex that blinds him to his own shortcomings, and blames everyone and everything else for his own failures. The most noteworthy instance is how he lost the WWE World Heavyweight championship after winning it on the big stage at [=WrestleMania=]. Damian Priest spelled out that what happened that evening was entirely his fault: Priest wanted to cash in on Seth Rollins months prior, and he and Drew could have fought for it at [=WrestleMania=], but Drew stopped him from doing so many times. Drew even said that Priest's smart move would be to cash in after Drew won the title from Rollins at [=WrestleMania=], and is now upset that Damian took his advice. Come XL, that's exactly what happens. Damian added that all Drew had to do after winning was walk away and enjoy his moment, but he had to rub it in CM Punk's face, making his beef with him more important than the belt he just won, and that ended in him once again leaving the ring empty-handed. Drew, of course, refused to acknowledge his own part in how events played out.
* OffscreenTeleportation: Did this on the go-home show before Delete WCPW to challenge Joseph Connors for the WCPW World Championship.
* OneHitKill: Exactly four people have kicked out of the Claymore: Wrestling/BrockLesnar, Wrestling/RomanReigns, Wrestling/Goldberg, and Big E. Literally everyone else has taken exactly one to turn their lights out for the three-count, including Wrestling/BobbyLashley, Wrestling/SethRollins, and even the mighty Wrestling/RandyOrton.
* PayEvilUntoEvil: Culminated his feud with Wrestling/RandyOrton this way, in an ambulance match at Clash of Champions 2020. To wit, Drew utilized a surprise sneak attack on Orton by Wrestling/ShawnMichaels to his advantage, Claymored Orton, and then cracked his dome with Orton's own Punt before finally slamming him in the titular ambulance to win the match and retain the WWE Title.
* PowerTrio:
** In TNA he had the Rising with Eli Drake (Shaun Ricker) and Mica (King Haku's son Tevita, formerly known as Camacho in WWE), who fought with him in his war with MVP's Beat Down Clan until they lost a match to the BDC and were forced to disband.
** In ICW he and his on-and-off best friends, Jack Jester and authority figure Andy "Red Lightning" Wason, all turned heel together on an egocentric power trip called the Black Label, citing how everything they do is for the good of the company. TNA's Bram ended up joining them in 2016, making them a full-on PowerStable overall but a PowerTrio in the ring.
** A short-lived one is "The Dogs of War", with Wrestling/DolphZiggler and Wrestling/BraunStrowman, after Strowman turned heel. Lasted until the Raw after Wrestling/HellInACell 2018, where they disbanded.
** An unnamed trioThough nicknamed "Midcard of Evil" by the guys of [=WrestleTalk=]. with Wrestling/BobbyLashley and Wrestling/BaronCorbin formed after Corbin's ousting from power after TLC 2018.
* RedBaron:
** "Thee" in his early years on the independent circuit.
** "The Chosen One" in his "Vince's pet project" gimmick. Came back with his return to the indies and his rise to the top therein.
** TNA briefly ran with "The Voice of the People" as a tagline to a teaser for his debut, before eventually going with "TheCaptain" and "The Scottish Dragon".
** "The Sinister Scotsman" in the latter parts of his first WWE run.
** "The Scottish Psychopath/Terminator" in the heel portion of his second WWE run. Others would call him Psychopath, he preferred Terminator.
** "The Scottish Warrior" circa his second WWE Championship victory and his new kilt-clad, BFS claymore-wielding entrance.
* ResetButton: EVOLVE did away with it's old ranking system and promised a reboot on show 31, Hero vs. Galloway. All things being equal, the debuting Drew Galloway got a title shot when Wrestling/ChrisHero decided to put his strap on the line, and Drew actually beat Hero to become champion.
* RevengeBeforeReason: While Jey Uso's list of sins as a member of the Bloodline are myriad - IHatePastMe a fact he readily admits - Drew's FaceHeelTurn and vendetta against Jey for the Bloodline screwing him out of the title at Clash at the Castle 2022 doesn't seem to account for one important detail: Jey wasn't even in Cardiff that night.The Usos have some real-life previous legal troubles that make international travel a bit tricky at times. It was Solo Sikoa's appearance that proved to ultimately be the difference maker and yet Drew hasn't even mentioned him.
* TheRival:
** Wolfgang of the "New Age Klique" was one of his first and longest lasting in the UK and to a lesser extent, his tag team partner Red Lightning. Did not follow him to the states like Sheamus but Wolfgang was right there waiting when Galloway returned to Scotland.
** As EVOLVE Champion, Wrestling/RoderickStrong was the first wrestler that made him lose his cool and the one he had the most trouble getting rid of. Ricochet was more indirect, as holder of the Open The Brave Gate but was the first man to defeat him in the promotion.
* SensingYouAreOutmatched:
** After the EVOLVE Reboot, Galloway would imitate Hero and try to put the title on the line when he did not have to, only for the referee not to allow it due to the new ranking system that went into effect after Galloway won the belt. When he faced Open The Freedom Gate Champion Ricochet, who logically should have been high enough in the rankings, Galloway didn't seem to have a problem with it not being a title match. Though after his loss, he would later willingly defend the title against Wrestling/JohnnyGargano, who defeated Ricochet and successfully defend the EVOLVE belt against him.
** Seems to be an underlying cause behind his FaceHeelTurn in ICW. The competition for his title only kept getting stiffer and stiffer, and in the meantime his best friends Jester and Lightning—the former of whom was part of that competition at one point, the latter of whom was running the place—had both come around to his cause after seeing the results of what he's done with the ICW World Heavyweight Championship. For starters, it was under his reign that it became a World Heavyweight Championship. So what to do? Turn heel together to ensure the gravy train keeps going by any means necessary.
* ShoutOut: He utilized old rival Sheamus's forearm in the rope clubs against Carlito at FWE Reloaded.
* SignatureMove: His most notable as of mid-2017? The hellish Inverted Alabama Slam. The Future Shock DDT is now also a staple, but not a match-ender, of his moveset since his return to WWE.
* SlipknotPonytail: Happens a lot.
* SmallNameBigEgo: His calling card as a heel. He calls himself the innovator of the modern wrestler.
* SoreLoser: When Drew lost the World Heavyweight Title to Damian Priest via Money in the Bank cash-in at [=WrestleMania XL=], he came out the next night on Raw absolutely beside himself, proclaiming that the Money in the Bank concept is a joke, despite the fact that Drew himself has competed in no less than five Money in the Bank ladder matches, although he never won the contract itself.
* StartOfDarkness: Losing to Wrestling/RomanReigns and the Bloodline at [=CATC2022=] sent Drew into a downward spiral. He had hoped to finally win a world championship in front a live crowd (in his own nation no less) after the UsefulNotes/COVID19Pandemic had prevented him from doing so before, only to lose through Roman's malicious, unjust machinations (read: he cheated). Ever since then, Drew has lost almost every major match he went into and has grown increasingly bitter about it. This culminated when Jey Uso joined the RAW roster, after defecting from the Bloodline, and was treated as a hero by the fans. Soon after, Drew failed to win the world title again, this time against Seth Rollins, and at that point, Drew said "screw it" and eventually turned to the dark side.
* StudentAndMasterTeam: The master to student Sara, though he sided against her with Carmel in [=W3L=].
* SmugSnake: Could often be seen wearing a cocky smirk on his face.
* TagTeam:
** The Empire with Stu Sanders.
** His run with Wrestling/DolphZiggler in Wrestling/WWERaw in 2018.
* TallDarkAndHandsome: Stands 6'5 and is a prominent MrFanservice in his own right.
* TallDarkAndSnarky: He stands a whopping 6'5 with matching ruthless demeanor.
* TerribleTrio:
** Wrestling/ThreeMB in WWE, with Wrestling/HeathSlater and Wrestling/JinderMahal.
** The Dogs of War, the short-lived association of his tag team with Wrestling/DolphZiggler with Wrestling/BraunStrowman.
* Troll: Gradually evolves into one during his 2023 FaceHeelTurn. This is notable during his feud with Wrestling/CMPunk where Drew and the latter engage in SnarkToSnarkCombat with outright mockery.
* UrExample: By winning the WWE Championship at Wrestling/WrestleMania 36, he became not only the first-ever Scottish-born world champion in WWE history but also the first-ever Scottish-born Wrestling/TripleCrownChampion in a major promotion in wrestling history.
* TragicVillain: Drew's slow, insidious heel turn toward the end of 2023 was mediated, almost in its entirety, by the way he was rewarded for being carrying WWE's banner during a historically awful time in wrestling by repeatedly being screwed out of his recognition and dignity by cheating heels, especially Wrestling/RomanReigns and his cousins, leading him down a path of obsession and refusal to forgive or move on.
* UseYourHead: Has a devastating headbutt known as the "Glasgow Kiss" (even though he's not from Glasgow as mentioned below).
* ViolentGlaswegian: He's from Ayr, not Glasgow, but still. The intensity that he fights with is practically renowned. Perhaps best exemplified on the December 7, 2020 episode of Raw-- when Drew ate an accidental Brogue Kick from Sheamus during a tag match, the two settled their differences in a massive backstage brawl, despite being kayfabe (and real life) friends, as well as Drew acknowledging that he knew Sheamus didn't mean to kick him. Eventually, he and Sheamus would turn their attention to backstage worker Pat Buck, who tried to break up the fight, and slam him through a table.
-->Drew: [smiling] Pint?\
Sheamus: [nods] Pint. But this time you're buying, you cheap bastard.\
Drew: [laughs heartily as he and Sheamus walk off screen together]
* WhamEpisode: His return to ICW is this in spades, as the Website/YouTube videos of it have caused a boom of interest in both the company and his career.
* WorkingWithTheEx: Eventually signed on to TNA, where Wrestling/TarynTerrell was already working.
* WrestlingMonster: From the beginning of his second run on the main roster all the way up to his Wrestling/WrestleMania 35 feud with Roman Reigns, Drew might very well have been the most terrifying monster heel WWE has seen in decades. Before he lost at [=WrestleMania=] to Reigns it was legitimately hard to name instances in which he's actually been defeated. Elements of this actually carried over to his WWE Championship run; while he takes and sells offense more as a face than he did as a monster heel, Drew has kicked out of the finishers of virtually every single challenger he's had, up to and including a kickout at one from an F5, and hasn't been pinned a single time even in non-title matches, both of which are pretty close to unheard of in modern WWE. And while he's had his share of rivals coming after the title, Dolph Ziggler and Randy Orton are the two who've managed to truly piss him off, prompting him to physically remind them how vicious and terrifying he can be.
