* TheBabyOfTheBunch: Most episodes involve the lead character introducing themselves, but Tess Turtle has to introduce Bobby Boa since he's still too young to talk.
* ChristmasEpisode: Paul's episode is set at Christmastime.
* DownerEnding: A few music shows end in disaster because some of the animals get into a disagreement or even sabotage the productions.
* ElvisImpersonator: Elvis Elephant dresses up like him.
* TheFriendNobodyLikes: Vince Vulture is a {{Jerkass}} who spends most of his episode bullying the other animals and gets kicked out of the saloon at the end. He also plays the villain in a few other episodes, and ruins a couple of productions. The other animals seem to tolerate him at best.
* FlirtatiousSmackOnTheAss: Lil and Lily's second episode features Vince Vulture slapping one of them on the rear.
* GooGooGetup: "Let's Be Babies" features Vince Vulture, Bumba Gorilla and Paco Pheasant dressing as infants for the music video. Lil and Lily also appear wearing baby clothes, but don't show up until after the video has finished shooting.
* GrandFinale: "The Animal Song" is the final episode. Instead of focusing on one animal, it features the entire cast gathered in a studio to sing a "We Are The World" spoof. The cartoon ends with the animals all leaving the studio seperately, implying it's the last production.
* HartmanHips: Jessica has quite the hips.
* InterspeciesRomance:
** Paul the Penguin is in love with Naomi the Bat.
** Most episodes where Henrietta the Hippopotamus and Elvis the Elephant appear together depict them as a couple.
* LadyInRed: Jessica Cat is always seen wearing red.
* MaleGaze: "Shining Knight" features some shots focusing on Jessica Cat's backside.
* MinionWithAnFInEvil: Naomi the Bat is an apprentice vampire in her episode. She's hopelessly bad at it and wants to play in the sun instead.
* MouthyBird: Lil and Lily the chickens have their beaks function like noses with functional mouths beneath them.
* NonMammalMammaries: Lil and Lily the chickens are depicted with breasts in "Killer Heart" even though they are usually depicted as flat-chested.
* TheMusical: Each episode was basically this.
* PunkInTheTrunk: Lil and Lily's second episode has Fred Flamingo play a police officer the two knock unconscious and then stuff in their car's trunk.
* {{Sleepyhead}}: Sophia The Marmot is usually asleep.
* SpoofingInTheRain: Fred Flamingo's episode has him tap-dancing during the rain. At one point near the beginning, he even spins around on a lamppost.
