''Candy Land: The Great Lollipop Adventure'' is the AnimatedAdaptation of the board game TabletopGame/CandyLand. The plot focuses on the gingerbread man Jib trying to reach the Sweet Celebration, which is performed to renew the beauty of Candy Land. Meanwhile, Princess Lolly has lost her staff needed for the celebration to the BigBad Lord Licorice, who plans to use it to take over Candy Land.

!Provides examples of:
* AdaptationalVillainy: While Lord Licorice was an antagonist in the original game, he didn't do much outside of trying to impede the characters from finding King Kandy. Here, he outright leaves them to die.
* BigBad: Lord Licorice, whose plan to take over Candy Land drives the plot.
* BondVillainStupidity: Lord Licorice left the heroes for dead in the chocolate river, thinking that Gloppy would finish them off. [[spoiler:Too bad for him that Gloppy turned out to be TheGrotesque, and more than willing to help the heroes.]]
* ChekhovsGun: Jib's frosting comes into play at the end, [[spoiler:sticking to Lord Licorice's foot, preventing him from using the scepter]].
* DastardlyWhiplash: Lord Licorice. He even twirls his mustache at one point in the VillainSong!
* {{Egopolis}}: Licorice's plan is to turn Candy Land into Licorice Land.
%%* TheEveryman: Jib
* FoolishSiblingResponsibleSibling: Attempted with Lolli and Frostine, but given no focus or development.
* FreudianExcuse: Lord Licorice implies that the reason why he wants to take over Candy Land and turn it into Licorice land is because licorice is disliked as a candy, and that has caused the other residents to shun it and him.
%%* TheGrotesque: [[spoiler:The chocolate BlobMonster]]
%%* LevelAte: Well, it ''is'' Candy Land, after all.
%%* MacGuffin: Princess Lolli's scepter
* MagicFeather: [[spoiler:Turns out Jib had the power to finish the Celebration himself.]]
* PsychopathicManchild: The "psychopath" part is a bit watered-down considering that this is a kids' movie, but Lord Licorice, who wants to exert his power and make licorice the only candy in Candy Land, has shades of this. For one thing, he starts out the VillainSong joyfully ''skipping'' around his cauldron. The song itself has a playful, bouncy tone partially due to being in 6/8 time, but it's still in a minor [[{{Tonality}} key]], invoking this trope.
* RaceAgainstTheClock: Jib has to get to the castle before the last gumball falls, when Lolly has to perform her Sweet Celebration duties.
* SkewedPriorities: Mr. Mint seems more intent on having fun than on getting to the castle within the time limit.
%%* StickySituation: Used several times [[spoiler:including the end]].
* SugarBowl: Candy Land itself. It's a colorful land filled with candy, and it's meant to be whimsical.
* TakeOverTheWorld: Lord Licorice wants to take over Candy Land and turn it into Licorice land.
%%* TapOnTheHead: [[spoiler:Happens to Lord Licorice.]]
* TheUnintelligible: Lord Licorice's minions, the Licorice Bites, can only say "Yummy" and make unintelligible mummer.
* VillainSong: "Licorice Land", in which Lord Licorice explains to his minions his plan to take over Candy Land and fill it with licorice, getting rid of all other candy.
