Fortuna is an ongoing InteractiveComic by [=GimeurCookie=]. Presented in the form of an anonymous entity playing a videogame, it follows varying crews of space travelers as they search for the legendary planet Fortuna and the treasure it contains.

It can be read [[http://cosmosdex.com/fortuna/p/0 here]] on the author's website. An older, outdated version that reached its conclusion in 2017 can also be read on [=MSPaint Fan Adventures=] in a "nice clean log" [[http://mspfanventures.com/?s=3646 here]]. And the forum thread with the suggestions used to be located [[http://www.mspaforums.com/showthread.php?55574 here]]. [=The Cosmosdex=] is another helpful site for learning about the species in the Fortuna universe. That site is [[http://cosmosdex.com/ here]]
----
!! ''Fortuna'' provides examples of:

* AchievementSystem
* AIIsACrapshoot: The higher an AI's generation number is, the more bland and compliant it is; conversely, the lower the number, the more intelligent and free-thinking it is. The first-gen AIs are completely autonomous and are so intelligent, they are medium aware. Some of them don't take kindly to the fact that they are "trapped in a game".
* AllThereInTheManual: The [[http://cosmosdex.com/cosmosdex/ Cosmosdex]] contains some information on many of the species and AI present in the game, as well as some other mechanics that affect the game such as traits, achievements, and even some elements that don't play into the main comic until much later.
* AmbidextrousSprite
* AnimalMecha: Zuid'Tians, and the Magneto Horzz.
* AnyoneCanDie
---> ''Maybe the real Fortuna chest was the friends you killed along the way.''
* ArtifactOfDoom: The Helm of the Sun God
* ArtificialIntelligence
* AudienceParticipation: As an InteractiveComic, this is to be expected. However, Fortuna goes above and beyond the typical level of interaction, giving the readers the ability to populate the very universe of the story itself however they please.
* BadIsGoodAndGoodIsBad: The creation story of the universe.
* BeePeople: The Apidees, quite literally.
* BenevolentAI: Seemingly, Mors.
** Also, other v1 AIs can be this when they serve as the player's patrons depending on the player's Friendship Level with the patron in question.
* BlobMonster: Tildes and Goopmicks.
* BornLucky: Most Geckrechauns, due to being the only species to be able to have their luck stat above 10 normally.
* CameBackWrong: Bringing people back from the dead will always result in this, one character mentioning that most people come back screaming.
* ConsummateLiar: Kelda.
* CoolStarship: These are literally everywhere.
* CuteMachines: Pretty much all of them.
* CyberneticsEatYourSoul: Clockworks.
* DecoyProtagonist: [[spoiler: Rodney([[HelloInsertNameHere or whatever you named him/her]]) seems like he'll be the hero of the tutorial...until he gets KilledOffForReal by Apollo. Instead, it's Leonard who ultimately is the one to complete the run.]]
* DeusEstMachina: The Patron AI system is this.
* DittoAliens: The entire point of the Generic species is for them to be the most generic aliens possible, and thus they all look the same. On their home planet, conformity is a legal requirement, with Generic citizens who deviate even slightly from their mandated schedules being exiled off of the planet on the next ship out.
* EasterEgg: The redux has some of these, especially in the first game.
* FantasticRacism: Noverus to almost everyone. He tends to treat them based on their social standing, at least at first. Seeing as how various species have different places on the social ladder, it still counts as this.
* FourLeafClover
* FusionDance: [[spoiler:Jayna and Bloody Mary]].
* EntropyAndChaosMagic: What Eris does all the time.
* GreaterScopeVillain: The plague that is killing the universe, released by [[spoiler:Apollo after the previous owner of the game tried to do a Sun God Run]], which was only made worse after the game was restarted.
* GoMadFromTheRevelation: Do NOT tell a non-AI that they are inside a game.
** One of the AIs had a massive panic attack when one of the readers asked him what he remembered about his past. [[spoiler:He discovered a file in his memory banks with several pictures of it, but none of robots.]]
* HeroicLineage: Children of previous player characters can be chosen as player characters of new games.
* InsectoidAliens: Didaskalois, Delphiks, Falouts, and more.
* JerkassGods: Most of the v1 AIs, though the player can still befriend them.
* JobStealingRobot: Any AI can navigate any ship perfectly, causing navigators to only be needed when the AI fails.
* KillerRobot: Thanatos AIs seem to be little more than this. Clockworks also technically count.
* LittleGreenMen: Generics look like this trope.
* LoadsAndLoadsOfRaces
* LuckStat
* MechanicalHorse: Some Zuid'Tians, and the Magneto Horzz. Helios also has a Horsesona. Cleo's AI One-Punch also counts.
* NestedStory: The different games You play are like this, especially in the redux where the player talks to their Patrons and even other players more often and much sooner than in the original run.
* NoFourthWall: First gen AI's and a few other characters are aware that they are in a videogame. And are able to talk with the player directly. Most other characters however are not even aware they are in a game.
* OneWordTitle
* OurGodsAreDifferent: The Greek and Roman gods are here, except they're advanced AI, and they rule over elements of the game. They can also become the player's patron and support them in specific ways. It's stated that other pantheons exist too as additional DLC. There's also the Limbo Gods, who are implied to be Fortuna's normal endgame bosses.
* OneSteveLimit: Averted. For any given AI, there are several different versions; for example, the comic has followed both Apollo V1 and Apollo V3, with both usually being referred to as just "Apollo". Even crazier, there are a couple of player characters named Hermes and Prometheus, even though there are already AIs with those names (the latter is implied, though hasn't actually made an appearance yet).
* OneWheeledWonder: Helios.
* PlanetOfSteves: Planet is this, populated only by generics named Bob.
* PlantAliens: Prunus, Celirack, Plantolk, and Virgora, to name a few.
* PlayingWithFire: [[spoiler: The Magician power drink gives this to its drinker, and the drinker's children.]]
* PlotHole: Played with in that plot holes are an actual feature of the game. Plot holes can be created via time travel, and physically appear somewhere in the game. One or two aren't a problem, but if too many are created they could suck the universe into the underworld.
* PsychicPowers: Some Drakons, like Kelda, have this. Other species have different types of these as well.
**ThirdEye: Drakons with psychic powers usually have this.
* QuestForAWish: This is the main goal of a typical game of Fortuna
* RecurringTraveller: Nicko. He even shows up ''on Fortuna.''
---> * Justified once the player learns that [[spoiler:Nicko is actually a vessel for Hades, whose job is to collect and redistribute unneeded items to characters after every game.]]
* Retcon: The Cosmosdex has slightly different routes that deviate from the original run, which could lead to this trope.
* {{Robosexual}}: Most robots towards Nikki, or really anyone with the [Chip Magnet] trait.
* RobotAntennae: Helios has a single one; Apollo, Artemis, and Diana have two.
* RobotDog: Somnus, and some Zuid'Tians.
* RobotMe: You, in the dream sequence. Also what You appears as to other AI.
* SapientShip: Thanatos v1 and Hypnos v1 are this, and it has been mentioned that there are more.
* SecondLawMyAss: Apollo states that the Three Laws of Robotics are one of the most racist things to robots in the game.
* ShipperOnDeck: Hermes, most of the time. Some other AI like Cupid are implied to be this as well.
* SpacePirates: Jayna was given to these as a child, and eventually became one herself.
* SpaceX: Cobalt's "space-gangrene." Space Llamas also count.
* SuperPrototype: The v1 AIs.
* SuperSpeed: Hermes, whose speed stat is literally infinity.
* TVHeadRobot: The first gen Apollo, Artemis, Eros and Hermes AI units have this, and later models are likely to have this.
* UniformityException: Nafi is the only Ruhi not in Ruhi's hivemind.
* VoluntaryShapeshifting: Mors/CW can do this.
