4->''"These Reds think we'll just roll over while they chew up another country. They think we're weak. Well, I'll show them "weak"! I'm going to punish them for what they've done! Oh, I'll make them suffer for it! '''SUFFER!''' And if there's two of us and one of them, '''WE WIN!'''"''

6
7[[http://www.viciousprint.com/6commando/comic/and-so-it-goes/ 6-Commando]] is a [[MilitaryAndWarfareComics Military And Warfare Webcomic]] by Mathieu Moyen, a.k.a. "Mr. Average". In this comic, the 20th century [[AlternateHistory played out a little differently]] from ours. UsefulNotes/WorldWarI dragged on for ten years, and UsefulNotes/WorldWarII never happened. The casualties from the "Great War" were so devastating that the "Great Powers" were determined to avoid a repeat at all costs.
8
9It is now 1997, and tensions are high. The United Nations Alliance [[note]]the USA, Canada, Mexico, Central America, Australia, the Philippines, Japan and parts of Africa[[/note]] is in a standoff with the Federative Socialist Republic [[note]]Russia, China, the Caucasus, most of Europe, Central Asia and parts of Southeast Asia[[/note]] in Africa. A minor border skirmish spirals out of control, and it appears that the "UsefulNotes/ColdWar" is about to turn hot.
10
116-Commando usually updates once every Monday, unless there are technical difficulties (like RealLife rearing its ugly head).
12
13!!6-Commando contains examples of:
14* AntiAir: We get a scene of [[spoiler:Mike using the base's missile defence systems to engage and destroy first a dozen warheads, then an incredibly large number of cluster weapons.]]
15* AfterTheEnd: Many places were devasted by an atomic war that the soldiers have to wear power armor to fight in radioactive war zones.
16* ApocalypseHow: Thanks to the atomic war, entire case in 6-Commandos is bordering between Societal Collapse and Societal Disruption on Planetary Scale as the point of view is focused on the military unit hiding in the shelter with outside excursion being conducted with vehicles and power armored infantries.
17* AlternateHistory: In the 6-Commando's universe, the continuation of [[UsefulNotes/WorldWarI The Great War]] led to the earlier incarnation of "UsefulNotes/ColdWar" as communist revolutions occurred in Russia, China, and Eastern Europe along with the formation of Federative Socialist Republic (FSR). While the democratic powers still reside in North America with the Europe and British Isles under FSR control, it was Canada that became a military superpower rather than the United States. Furthermore, Quebec became a sovereign nation with ties to United Nations Alliance.
18* AIIsACrapshoot: The UNA's hulking [[TankGoodness supertanks]] (known as "Rumblers") have an artificial intelligence built in, making them fully autonomous [[SapientTank Sapient Tanks]]. One of them, Mike-One-Echo ("Mike"), decides to disregard orders to break off a pursuit. [[spoiler:This leads to dire consequences]].
19* ArtisticLicenseNuclearPhysics: The new warheads are described as fusion weapons, which work somewhat differently than traditional fission warheads.
20-->'''Major Rucker''': "They don't even have atomic primers. They use a laser to set themselves off."
21* BilingualBonus: Russian speakers will no doubt enjoy the pages where Russian is spoken (alright, typed, whatever) without translations or subtitles. Readers are assured that it's fairly grammatical.
22* BiggerIsBetter: The ''Echo''-class was supposed to be replaced by the ''Victor''-class in a few years. The ''Victors'' were designed to be significantly larger and more heavily-armed than the ''Echoes'', bringing them into [[MilitaryMashupMachine Land Battleship]] territory.
23* ComplainingAboutRescuesTheyDontLike: Sarah, to Mike. [[spoiler:Considering the almost incalculable loss of human life that resulted from his actions, it's justified.]]
24* CrapsackWorld: As if things weren't bad enough, [[spoiler:now a full-scale atomic war has broken out]].
25* {{Cyborg}}: Major Sarah Bronniford (Republic of Quebec), was badly injured during Mike's rescue attempt. Mike decided to repair her brain damage by [[spoiler:installing some of his own "wetware" in Sarah's brain. She was [[BerserkButton not pleased]] when she found out]].
26* DrowningMySorrows: Maj. Rucker tried this, [[spoiler:until Mike interrupted him.]]
27* ElaborateUndergroundBase: The UNA has one, which is fortunate for them.
28* EyepatchOfPower: Unfortunately, Sarah Bronniford is still minus her right eye. [[spoiler:Oddly enough, the whole incident seems to have strengthened her will, to the point where she is almost in command of the base.]]
29* FailedFutureForecast: Thanks to the extended UsefulNotes/ColdWar, the world's political alliances have formed in different ways than we are familiar with. The South American Coalition [[note]]"CONASUR" (Coalición de Naciones Suramericanas), unifying all of the South American nations[[/note]] and the Arab League [[note]]Most of the Middle East and North Africa[[/note]] represent powerful blocs who want to sit out the Cold War. Africa is especially chaotic, with several political blocs jockeying for position.
30* GeneralRipper: Col. Haulley, as demonstrated by the page quote above.
31* GreatOffscreenWar: The "Scarlet Revolution" of the 1970s, which overthrew the capitalist, UNA-leaning governments of Western Europe, replacing them with governments sympathetic to the FSR. From Germany to Great Britain, Western Europe is now ruled by FSR puppets, while the "Governments-in-Exile" reside in North America, dreaming of the day that they will return and resume their former glory.
32* GreyAndGrayMorality: Both the UNA and FSR have their own flaws to make either of them good or evil.
33* HandCannon: The UNA's [[http://www.viciousprint.com/6commando/comic/una-mach-saber-75/comment-page-1/#comment-39358 Mach Saber]], a .75 caliber twin-barrel over/under revolver. The top barrel is for the six .75 Magnum cartridges in the revolver, while the bottom one is for the single-shot .96 caliber [=HEJA=] (High Explosive Jet-Assisted) armor-piercing round.
34* {{Hypocrite}}: The South Americans [[spoiler:have been developing thermonuclear weapons for the UNA, using the UNA's base in the Congo as a weapons factory. So much for being "neutral"!]]
35* LensmanArmsRace: Maximum yield for nuclear weapons is generally limited to about 100 kilotons per warhead. The nuclear nations make up for this by stockpiling thousands of warheads and missiles.[[spoiler:The UNA[[note]]with the South Americans' help[[/note]] has recently developed thermonuclear warheads for Mike's "Bluecap" missiles. Nominal yield is estimated at 40 megatons per warhead.]]
36* ImprobableAntidote: Not only did Mike fix Sarah's brain damage, whatever he did cured her (seemingly terminal) radiation poisoning and third-degree burns. Even her hair started growing back, much faster than normal. [[HandWave None of this is explained]].* MightyGlacier: Mike isn't the fastest thing on the battlefield, but you ''really'' don't want to get in his way.
37* MoreDakka: The UNA is always trying to one-up itself in this regard, and it has apparently succeeded with the ''Echo'' and ''Victor''-class "Rumblers".
38* NiceJobBreakingItHero: Mike's rescue attempt [[spoiler:started a global atomic war]].
39* ANuclearError: When Mike violates Russian territory, and all conventional weapons prove useless against him, the local commander panics [[spoiler:and orders the use of atomic bombs]].
40** And of course, [[spoiler:the UNA has to respond in kind...]]
41* OhCrap: Happens a few times in the opening chapters.
42** Major Sarah Bronniford, when she is captured by the Russians.
43** Major Thomas Rucker, Mike's battalion commander, when he realizes that Mike won't respond to orders.
44** Colonel Conrad Haulley, when he's informed that Mike has already crossed the border, in violation of orders.
45* PointDefenseless: Averted, first by Mike's laser intercept weapons, then by [[spoiler: several shootdowns of various aircraft, and then finally by the missile defense scene. Still somewhat zigzagged, as Victor uses many detonations to cover for one finally nuclear missile.
46* PoweredArmor: "Battlesuits" are deployed in great numbers by most of the world's large militaries.
47* SchizoTech: Research and development of nuclear weapons has been relatively slow, while R&D of conventional weapons has raced ahead.
48* SuperPrototype: There's at least one ''Victor'' in the field, and it looks pretty badass.
49* TankGoodness: The UNA's ''Echo''-class Autonomous Armored Vehicles ([=AAVs=] or "Rumblers") are about eight times the size of an M-1 Abrams tank [[note]](2Lx2Wx2H)[[/note]], and weigh about 500 tons.
50* TroubledBackstoryFlashback: Only without the "HappyFlashback" portion of the experience. They generally start out bad and end up worse. And Mike is causing them and reliving them along with the people having them. Somehow.
51** For example, Col. Haulley [[spoiler:flashes back to the invasion of Singapore, where he was badly wounded and almost died.]]
