->''"Well it all started at this big castle...obviously owned by the twerp himself, Dr. Neo Cortex."''

''Outcast Bandicoot'' is a ''VideoGame/CrashBandicoot'' fanfic made by artist and web designer Tara Mckee. It concerns the character [[Characters/CrashBandicoot Crunch Bandicoot]] during his stay on Dr. Neo Cortex's space station up to and during [[VideoGame/CrashBandicootTheWrathOfCortex Wrath of Cortex]].

Tara originally wrote the story as simple text (but with drawings she made herself), but later decided to adapt the story into a film. The film was placed on youtube, but left uncompleted. The entire film -- as far as she got -- can be watched [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cFLzAAyhZEg here]]. (WARNING: The film should be considered PG-13 at least.) The original text which the film was based on, as well as several other stories in the universe, can be read [[http://www.outcastbandicoot.lurking-leanne.com/story.htm here]] (WARNING: NSFW!!)

!!''Outcast Bandicoot contains examples of:''
* ActionGirl: Tani Tiger. She handles herself pretty well in a fight.
* ArtShift: Not within the completed parts of the work, but in the bonus scenes, you can see what Tara's art looked like before she began the work proper.
* BadassInDistress: Crunch, obviously. By all means he's a capable fighter, but Cortex and his lab assistants prove to be too much for the poor bandicoot.
* BloodierAndGorier: The series has graphic violence, unlike the ''VideoGame/CrashBandicoot'' games. One example is Crunch's nightmare, [[spoiler: in which Tani is brutally murdered in front of him.]]
* CanonForeigner: Several. Tani and Kris Roo are the most obvious examples.
%%* DarkerAndEdgier: The fanfic is much, much darker than the series it was based on.
* EarnYourHappyEnding: Crunch survives five years on Cortex's space station -- which we can assume is nightmarish at the best of times. Crash and Coco help him escape and make his way back to X.Treme Island.
* MoodWhiplash: Enter a spooky castle that's so dark you can't see anything, and has some of the series' creepiest music playing...then get jumped by two crazy potoroos...''THEN'' get attacked by the sadistic scientist who owns the place, and get kidnapped from your home.
* NiceJobBreakingItHero: The minions are ready to make their escape! But lab assistants show up to cut them off! [[spoiler: Crunch bravely stalls the escape to help Kris fight the lab assistants...only for Cortex to arrive and cut off the escape. And this is after Kris said he was willing to stay behind!]]
* PlatonicLifePartners: Crunch and Tani. [[spoiler: Averted later on, when they become a couple....]]
* SheIsAllGrownUp: Tani, when Crunch returns from his exile. [[JustifiedTrope Justified]], as five years have passed since they last met.
* TakeMeInstead: Koala Kong, who would rather go with Cortex than watch Crunch and Tani suffer.
* TimeSkip:
** Crunch is first abducted roughly before the start of ''Cortex Strikes Back''. Then there is a time skip of some eighteen months.
** Also, the time skip after the time Tara could no longer complete the movie; she was only able to add a few scenes from early production after that.
* ViewersAreGeniuses: You'd have to know the ''Crash Bandicoot'' series pretty well (particularly ''Wrath of Cortex'') in order to make sense of what's going on, or why you should care.
