* VideoGame/PhoenixWrightAceAttorneyConflictOfInterest: This fangame has a similar absence example with Shelley de Killer. It's hard to mention him without spoiling his central PlotTwist... he isn't involved in the game at all. The character two witnesses assumed was de Killer was someone else, and Obadiah Williamson faked de Killer's involvement in the case to lure Phoenix into accepting it.
** The fangame also has Frincisco Mendirez, given that only two things about him are publicly known: his name, and the fact that he's the BigBad. His identity is the fangame's DrivingQuestion. The real reason Mendirez is a WalkingSpoiler is that both these assumptions are lies. Mendirez is not the game's BigBad, most of the crimes attributed to him were done by the actual BigBad using his name, in an attempt to ruin his reputation with the mafia. Said BigBad? Carlo Luciano, fellow mafia member carrying out an elaborate revenge plot against Mendirez, hoping to fully destroy his reputation to the point where he's begging for death, then kill him.

* Fanfic/WashedDownTheDrain: The summary sells the story as being about Woojin's grief. Like Woojin, the reader spends most of the first chapter believing Joonyeong has perished and Woojin has to move on. The fact that half the chapters are from Joonyeong's perspective would probably indicate that he's not so dead after all.

* Fanfic/KedaborysElmoreChronicles starts out as a lighthearted continuation of the series in a setting where everything goes back to normal after "The Inquisition", which means that Rob is nowhere to be seen. However, "The Fable" reveals him to still be alive, albeit trapped in the Void, and "The Glitch" teases at his return to Elmore. As such, any mention of him is a spoiler for the twist ending of "The Fable".

* Fanfic/AProtectorsPride: Hell is a spiritual being and the second arc's BigBad, and the dimension of Hell was actually named after him.

* Lost And Found: It's next to impossible to tell anything about the fic beyond the first pages until the Rangers encounter whomever Zipper has spotted in the old bomber plane where Gadget used to live. This is because it's her father Geegaw Hackwrench who until then is believed dead. Seeing as Lost And Found has three acts, Geegaw's presence makes pretty clear whom the other two acts are about.
* Under the Bridge: Widget Hackwrench a.k.a. The Gray Mouse. In the first two chapters, it's only revealed that she's known as The Gray Mouse, that she's got a submarine, and that she's after the Rescue Rangers. Her name alone is a dead giveaway that she's Gadget's sister. If you know it before you read Under the Bridge beyond the first chapters, you'll have a pretty accurate idea of things that the fic itself reveals much later. Also, calling her a ByronicHero gives away the end.

* It's very difficult to talk about WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic fan short WebAnimation/DoubleRainboom without spoiling the crossover element.
* Fanfic/ForEarthAndHerColonies (VideoGame/Halo & VideoGame/KanColle):
** First is that a second ship spirit came along with Harvest: UNSC Repensum Est Canicula, a prowler for Section Three of the Office of Naval Intelligence, whose crew was murdered by ONI Section Zero to cover up the Spartan III's being war orphans, and whose hull was scrapped and parts from which (including the nameplate) were used in the construction of UNSC Harvest.
** Second is the other unexpected guest that came along for the ride: the CCS-class battlecruiser UNSC Harvest's final battle was against.
* Fanfic/InfinityTrainBlossomingTrail:
** The Patient: Alain was first in Chapter 14 to have been on the Infinity Train and once experienced The Fog Car, seeing as Alex Shepherd has his Honor of Kalos Medal. It isn't until three chapters later that the readers learn that he never left the car, as he's stuck in a dream-like state and crucified in a hospital within said car.
** The Prisoner: Paul ended up on the Train too after a fight with his brother and ended up letting an Apex child drown in a lake. Walter has now tortured him into breaking so he becomes Despair in a ritual to stop the Apex and ends up losing all hope.
** The Wish: Parker channeling the Unown has him wish for his sister back, and the Unown create [=UnChloe=], a replica of his sister in a black dress and magic powers that will wreak havoc across Vermillion City in Arc 2.
* Fanfic/LulusBizarreRebellion (Anime/CodeGeass & Manga/JojosBizarreAdventure): An early PointOfDivergence has Lelouch forced to reveal his powers to Suzaku before they even escape Shinjuku, so he is unable to take the role of Zero. However, the big spoiler is that he subsequently convinces Shirley to take up the role instead, as no-one expected for her to have any powers at all, much less be one of the main protagonists. This takes place early into the story, and so it's difficult to discuss Shirley's role without spoiling this twist.
** The antagonist of the Europe arc can't even be referred to by name without spoiling that he's JOJO, a.k.a. Jonathon Joestar as a vampire.
* Fanfic/AManOfIron (Franchise/MarvelCinematicUniverse & Literature/ASongOfIceAndFire): On the character page, Sansa's article is almost entirely whited out, due to the game-changing elements of her personal storyline -- namely, her death near the end of the first book and subsequent resurrection as the Night's Queen in its epilogue, leading to her becoming a major antagonist in the rest of the series.
** Something similar then happens at the climax of Book 2, A Crack of Thunder, when it's revealed that Davos Seaworth is actually a disguised Loki and the father of Jane. At that point, both their articles on the character page become full of spoiler tags.
** Midway through Book 2, Rickon is sucked through a portal in the Winterfell crypts and returns in the back end of the book now as an adult -- specifically, Star-Lord, accompanied by the story's versions of the Guardians of the Galaxy. It's pretty hard to discuss him as a character without bringing this up, as he wasn't even present in the story until just before the portal incident. This also applies to Yondu, the mentor of Rickon and the leader of the Children of the Forrest.
** And then there's the Traitor, the series' version of Captain America, whose arrival in the final chapter of Book 2 is a spoiler by default. Furthermore, it's impossible to discuss him without mentioning how he's interpreted in this story as a rogue Other.
* Fanfic/NecessaryToWin (Anime/GirlsUndPanzer & Manga/Saki): Mizuho Miyanaga, who happens to be based on the girl from Chapter 102 and 104 of . She was Saki and Teru's adoptive sister and a distant relative, until she died in a tankery match, as a result of Teru saving Saki rather than her, being only to save one. Saki forgetting about Mizuho and Teru's own conflicting feelings about her decision is the cause of Teru's enmity toward her, and Mizuho's death also caused the Miyanagas to break apart. Essentially, mentioning anything about Mizuho, including her name, spoils some part of the Miyanaga sisters' subplot.
* Fanfic/Origins (VideoGame/Borderlands, Franchise/Halo, Franchise/MassEffect & Franchise/StarWars MassiveMultiplayerCrossover): The Flood from Halo is the BigBad. The fact that Halo is involved at all is also generally spoiler-tagged in entries related to the work. Depending on context, the same can be said of Borderlands.
* Webcomic/TailsGetsTrolled:
** Franchise/TheHedgehog is pretty difficult to discuss without mentioning either Chapter 4's twist or the backstory told through Chapter 19-20.
** Mario and Luigi may not seem like this at first since they are portrayed as members of the Troll Slaiyers, but it's soon revealed that they are intentionally PlayingBothSides.
** Many of the comic's fans refuse to spoil the minor story arc WesternAnimation/PorkyPig stars in, which is sometimes dubbed "The Porkening". The arc itself isn't very spoilerrific in regards to the main story, but the shockingly depressing events which occur are considered too great to be spoiled to first-time readers.
** Chester Cheetah may initially appear to be the embodiment of TheStoner, but Chapter 20 reveals that he and the other Defenders are not at all what they seem.
* Fanfic/WhatTheCatDraggedIn (Franchise/MarvelCinematicUniverse & WesternAnimation/MiraculousLadybug): The FinalBoss, Peacemonger. It's practically impossible to talk about him without giving away just who gets Akumatized into him -- even the name is a pretty big giveaway, thus all references to him on the story's page are entirely whited out.

* Fanfic/DisneysWarACrossoverStory: In the third story, it is not revealed that the "Master of Worlds" is actually Alice from Alice in Wonderland, turned insane and evil, until pretty late in the story, and his identity was already a mystery in the previous story, End of Worlds. The origin of his powers was also pretty mysterious, but all makes sense once we know that "he" is actually Alice, who in the context of the series is one of the most powerful Reality Warpers in existence.

* Fanfic/GirlsNextTour is extremely spoilery by just looking at the cover art and even a part of Chapter 1 for anyone who hasn't read the entirety of the original manga. And why is it? Because it clearly takes place AFTER the manga's ending.

* Fanfic/AbraxasHrodvitnon: King Ghidorah's entries have a lot of spoiler tags, referring to their role as the story's BigBad when their resurrection accelerates, to the revelation of their FreudianExcuse, to their climactic transformation into Keizer Ghidorah.

* Fanfic/Reconciliation: An interesting variant in a character whose conspicuous absence serves as a Walking Spoiler. It's revealed early on that Hisao has died of a heart attack, setting the plot into motion. Only the most basic description of the setting can avoid mentioning his death, and doing so spoils Hanako's bad ending.

* Fanfic/ShenVsKai: Hei Yinying, the true antagonist of the fic who's responsible for manipulating Shen and Kai's titular conflict and creating the alternate universe. His existence isn't so much as hinted at for the first several chapters, and his name, his demonic nature and his full appearance aren't revealed until nearly 2/3 into the story.

* Fanfic/PerfectionIsOverrated: Meiko is thought to be a friend of Mai's, but it turns out that she's Bachiko's accomplice, having rewritten everyone's memories so that Bachiko could pretend to be an OldFriend of Mai's and she could pretend to be a newer friend, while the two scheme to manipulate various characters' relationships.

* Fanfic/Eternal: The Sun, whose presence is a huge spoiler for not only what's been happening to Celestia for the past millennium - and thus what's currently happening between her and Twilight - but the entire reason for it happening in the first place.
* Fanfic/Marionettes: The true nature of the title characters, as the TomatoInTheMirror reveal is a major PlotTwist just before the DiscOneFinalBoss confrontation with Gear Shift and Cover Story.
* Blog/Moonstuck: Discord. His very presence spoils not only the ending and the nature of one of the two other villains, but also that the whole thing is set during his original reign of Equestria (and not, as many fans initially assumed, set during Luna's imprisonment in the moon).
* The Fanfic/PonyPOVSeries:
** It's pretty hard to talk about Trixie's involvement in the story without bringing up that she's a second Element of Magic, or that the first BigBad, Loneliness, is her EnemyWithin.
** It's also next to impossible to discuss Fluttershy beyond the first season without bringing up her becoming the second BigBad Princess Gaia, or that "Gaia" is just a cover for Nightmare Whisper.
** Likewise, Fluttercruel's involvement in the above and her HeelFaceTurn in response to fixing it, becoming a second Element of Kindness in the process.
** Luna, Celestia, and Discord's backstories are completely whited-out on their character pages, due to their origins, families, falling out, the war between the Alicorns and Draconequi, and the time they spent as mortals, being integral to the plot.
** Nightmare Mirror's character listing is almost completely whited out, to hide the fact that she's an AlternateUniverse Applejack.
** Diamond Tiara's involvement in the story starts out small, but then we find out Discord's using her as a puppet and corrupting her, and eventually gets her to free him, turning her into a Nightmare and his Dragon in the process.
** The Dark World is full of these, but the biggest examples are Fluttershy, Fluttercruel, Rancor (when her true motives are revealed), The Nameless Passenger/Nightmare Paradox, her Psycho Ranger CoDragons, and The Benevolent Interloper/Amicitia.
** Discord's erased older brother, D___t, due to his role as BigBad of Bright Eyes' 7 Dreams/Nightmares section, and the fact that he turns out to have been evil (as opposed to the WhiteSheep everyone assumed he was).
** And then there's the biggest example of all (to the point that their entire section on the character sheet is covered), ladies and gentlecolts, the G3 universe.
** The Interviewers, once their true nature and identities are finally revealed.
* Fanfic/SunsetOfTime: The BigBad, Vesper Radiance, is wearing a BlackCloak for the first several chapters. The reason is that her eventual identity is not only a big reveal, but completely shifts the tone of the story.

* Fanfic/AGrowingAffection: Gouki Namikaze. As the GreaterScopeVillain, Naruto's uncle and Minato's brother, the secret mentor of Konan and Nagato, among other attributes, pretty much any important mention of him is going to spoil the last two books.
* Fanfic/SonOfTheSannin: Rin Nohara's death was pretty much the event that set in motion everything that happened in the Naruto canon. Her appearance in Chapter 40 is just the last of a long string of shocking events in that same chapter, and the circumstances behind her resurrection change completely the implications behind Obito Uchiha's motivations and everything that comes after that.

* Fanfic/MarieDSuesseAndTheMysteryNewPirateAge:
** Monkey D. Madelyn. To make a long story short, she, a World Noble, got her hands on a special Devil Fruit, and used it to fall in love with Trafalgar Law. Unfortunately, as his personality slowly changed because of her influence, she assumed he'd given up on winning the race for Manga/OnePiece, and used her powers to arrange for her brother Luffy to get captured by the Marines so that Law would once again have a shot at winning. Doing so resulted in Luffy getting executed, and his crew dying one by one; overwhelmed by shame, she retreats to the real world, gets married and gives birth to the main character, before events result in her being taken back to the One Piece world 20 years after her departure. If you mention anything about her except her name or status as the "Pirate Queen", you'll give away a plot twist at some point.
** The Disinfector, a.k.a. Trafalgar Law, who also plays a major role in the backstory as Madelyn's lover, and whose identity is kept secret for much of the fic.

* A few examples in the Fanfic/RubyAndNora series:
** Weiss and Pyrrha: The BigBad of the short story is Nurse Abigail Lemon. However, she initially presents herself as Weiss' kindhearted nurse. The fact that she is revealed to be a SerialKiller is a large part of the twist in that story. Her personalities beforea kind nurse who helps Weiss and consoles Pyrrha, willing to assist if needed and aftera sociopathic narcissist who kills patients because of her AGodAmI godhood delusions TheReveal look like two completely different people.
** The GreaterScopeVillain Salem. What's revealed about her is that she is Ozpin's ArchEnemy and she sent Cinder Fall to destroy Vale. Pretty easy to mention since this is pretty much the same as the show. However, that gets a wrench thrown in the gears when it reveals that Cinder is actually Salem in disguise. Events involving Cinder after that take on a very different context. In addition, the fact that she has ties to many characters after Field Trip is something that spoils things about their role in the story.
** Attacks: Harold White is this for the story since he is behind the Grimm attacks plaguing Muzukasi because he piloted a mechanical Grimm all because he wanted to discredit the current leader of the village, Penwood, and become the leader himself.
** Cold: Willow Schnee's appearance in this story drops bombshell after bombshell about her. From the fact that she's helping the resistance against Jacques to the fact that she's the Winter Maiden in this universe and Ironwood planned that from the beginning. It's tough to talk about what she does in that story without spoiling something about it.
** The existence of Light and Void, the two Brother Gods, is this, as it's revealed that the two of them destroyed countless universes before being defeated and sealed away. Void is this even moreso when it's revealed that he is the one that gave Salem her powers as well as who Salem is out to awaken to obtain godhood and upon her releasing him, becomes the ultimate foe.

* Fanfic/QueensOfMewni:
** Discussing anything about the "Aurora, the Princess of Another Dimension" chapter not only requires one to know about the GrandFinale of WesternAnimation/StarVsTheForcesOfEvil-in which Star decides to destroy magic, and with the last bit of it she and Marco unconsciously cleaved Earth and Mewni together-but the aftermath of it-a devastating War of Two Worlds that left most of Mewni's population dead (including Moon, Eclipsa, and Meteora) and Star being forced to bring magic back.
** Then there's the big twist that makes all of the canon series and the Aurora chapter even more tragic and hard to discuss otherwise-everything Star did, in particular giving the throne to Eclipsa because she believed herself and Moon to be illegitimate heirs to the throne, was BasedOnAGreatBigLie perpetrated by Eclipsa's first daughter, Luna the Child, who had tried to erase Eclipsa from history, and whom Star and Moon are descended from.
** Bringing up Comet is hard without noting that RelatedDifferentlyInTheAdaptation is in effect, Comet is actually Moon's aunt, and Comet was technically queen regent since Moon was queen at a few days old since her biological mother, Sky the Weaver, died from complications from childbirth (and a bit of despair too).

* VideoGame/CMCPlus: Trope with a fighter in the AprilFools build called "Spoiler", who's a pink Knuckles with a Sharingan eye. There's no direct indication what he's spoiling, but he's treated as one to such an extent by both the April Fools buildTheir appearance in the character select is blocked by a "SPOILER WARNING" tag and the base gameHe's featured as a legendary sticker, one that is blocked from view upon obtaining in the gacha that his name is effectively just that. There's also his sticker description, which gives us nothing much else in terms of an explanation.
-->Sticker Description: cmc v30 coming soon

* Fanfic/TurningRedSecretsOfThePanda: It's impossible to talk about Xióngmāo shāshǒu without revealing that he's the master of Jason Vaugn.

* Webcomic/CoolAndNewWebComic: Final Agent, a character similar to Doc Scratch introduced in Act 5 who is a "Last Guardian" powered by the "Pink Sun."The whole concept is a nod to the long-disproven threory about Webcomic/Homestuck having a Pink Sun as a foil to its Green Sun, with their own seperate brand of Guardians, based on a quick image of a pink-tinted sun appearing in "Seer: Descend." The mere existence of Last Guardians is a huge spoiler for the webcomic, as they are not in canon and are explicitely described by Agent as a three-of-a-kind anomaly across the multiverse. The fact that there even is a character who is a "second Doc Scratch" is a massive twist by the time of his reveal, which is lampshaded by the narrator building up his first appearance with plenty of mispelled "wait for it"s.
* Fanfic/TheConversionBureauTheOtherSideOfTheSpectrum has the TheManBehindTheMan, Tirek. The entire conversion scheme turns out to be part of his revenge against the entire human race because one single girl named Megan Williams defeated him over one thousand years prior.
* FanFic/HorseshoesAndHandGrenades has many characters with tropes related to them spoiler-tagged. These include: Ryusei Sakuta (who has been brainwashed twice and converted into an android), Kengo Utahoshi (who has become a servant to Ophiuchus as early as Chapter 2), Jiro Inseki (the whole reason Ryusei even killed Gentaro in the first place being killed and resurrected), Mei Shirakawa (who was the fortuneteller who pushed Ryusei on the path to kill Gentaro in the first place) and Shotaro Hidari (for becoming a Serpent-bearer and losing his mind.)
* FanFic/HuntingTheUnicorn has a major spoiler in the form of Alex. He's mentioned in the thirteenth chapter as Blaine's stalker, has a short appearance in the fourteenth, and later appears in the nineteenth chapter where he kidnaps Blaine, Wes, and David. Two more Walking Spoiler characters are Tori Grayson, Nick's divorced father who is secretly a wanted criminal that the Behavioral Analysis Unit knows as "Spyke," and Petyr "Littlefinger" Baelish, who broke Alex out of jail because he needs Alex to help him find Blaine's therapist Sansa Stark.
* FanFic/ImperfectMetamorphosis:
** Rin Satsuki, whose identity, powers (and how she got them) and history are spoilers for the motivations and goals of more than half the cast.
** The Shadow Youkai is a lesser example. Her origins and nature are certainly a spoiler, but her existence is most certainly not, as "Rumia's SuperpoweredEvilSide" has long been a FandomSpecificPlot for Franchise/TouhouProject fan works.
* Claire Thompson in FanFic/TheNewRetcons, who's Elly's illegitimate daughter from when she was a teenager. Later, Fiona Brass (who takes a crazed runaway Elly in) and Kortney Patterson, nee Krelbutz (who John had cheated on Elly with, and eventually married).
* Fanfic/ItsNotTheRaptorDNA:
** Dr. Henry Wu is revealed to have done what he did out of UndyingLoyalty to John Hammond, deliberately using Rexy, Sobek and Big One's DNA to make Elise hard to control, alongside using John Hammond's DNA in Elise, hoping for Indominus Rex to backfire on Jurassic World and Ingen.
** Tacet the Indomitus Rex's mere existence answers several questions about Elise and Small One.
* In Anime/PokemonTheSeries fanfic Fanfic/Obsession, a certain character is referred to only as "Lucrezia's son", covering that he's a certain canon criminal mastermind.
* FanFic/ThePowersOfHarmony: Pretty much anything to do with the Guards' true natures, Cetus, Eclipse, Horizon, or Harmony are spoilers.
* The majority of the spoilers in Anime/NeonGenesisEvangelion PeggySue FanFic Fanfic/TheSecondTry revolve around a little girl named Aki... Aki Ikari.
* Fanfic/TheSecretReturnOfAlexMack: Before Alex even brings her home, eight-year-old [=Charlie McGee=] chooses her hero name: Pyre. Then she becomes obsessed with The Iron Giant and its iconic quote, "YOU STAY! I GO! NO FOLLOWING!" A few months later, she makes a HeroicSacrifice to stop some GreyGoo that has infested her body, flying away from everyone else and turning up her fire powers until she triggers nuclear fusion in the air.
* FanFic/TheTaintedGrimoire:
** Raven: A high-ranking member of Khamja. KilledOffForReal.
** Crow: He worked for Khamja. He then left them. And then he joined Clan Gully.
** Archbishop Finch: A corrupt man trying to seize power in St. Galleria.
** Barley: Nearly everything he did affected the plot in major ways. And then finally, KilledOffForReal.
* Fanfic/TalesOfTheUndiscoveredSwords: Given the nature of the kiwame upgrade in canon, naturally kiwame Sasanoyuki is this.
* Fanfic/AWorldOfBloodyEvolution reveals that the ruthless Inquisitor is actually Weiss. This shows that the worlds of WebAnimation/RWBY and TabletopGame/Warhammer40000 are somehow connected and that Yang simply appearing wasn't by random chance. The Soul Wielder who taught a family of Eldar the secret of Aura, a specialized ability that turns people into yies, confirms this.
* Fanfic/PersonaTheSougawaFiles has the identity of the true main villain. Yuudai Honda initially seems like a goofy character with barely any appearances, but his presence increases dramatically near the end of the story, and it's nearly impossible to talk about him without spoiling any of this, to the point where he's the reason the fic's character pages has no marked spoilers.
* Fanfic/OneDayAtATimeNyame: The Joker's character entry is almost entirely whited out, due to the revelation that there are multiple Jokers as a result of a thus-far unidentified curse.
