An action HackAndSlash video game based on the fictional ninja team the Franchise/TeenageMutantNinjaTurtles, developed by Creator/PlatinumGames and published by Creator/{{Activision}}. It was released for Platform/PlayStation3, Platform/PlayStation4, PC, Platform/Xbox360, and Platform/XboxOne on May 24, 2016.

At night atop the TCRI building Krang and Shredder meet on the skyscraper's helipad to confirm that everything is in place for their alliance towards an unspecified goal. At a gesture from Shredder, hundreds of Foot Clan soldiers descend upon the city, starting a titanic crime wave that throws the city into chaos. In their Lair deep beneath the streets, the Turtles discuss the crime wave with Splinter and April O'Neil, concluding that they are honor bound to protect the city and head out to do just that though Michelangelo is still in the middle of some pizza he feels similarly 'honor bound' to finish off. While patrolling the rooftops, the Turtles notice Foot Soldiers sneaking around the Purple Dragons' territory and head to the streets to investigate the anomaly and clear out the rival ninjas.

Less than eight months after its release, the game was [[KeepCirculatingTheTapes removed from sale from all digital storefronts]] on January 3, 2017. This is the last ''Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles'' game and the last Creator/{{Nickelodeon}} game to be published by Activision; afterwards, Nick would grant video game licenses to different publishers on a case-by-case basis instead of granting a single publisher a blanket license to all of their series as was done with Activision and Creator/{{THQ}} before them.

Not to be confused with ''VideoGame/TeenageMutantNinjaTurtlesTheManhattanProject''.
----
!! This game provides examples of:
* ArmCannon: One of the abilities in the game is to summon an arm cannon that blasts foes at a distance, creating a blue explosion.
* BatPeople: The boss of Level 6 is Wingnut, a monstrous anthropomorphic bat. He is implied to be an alien in this version, riding a UFO in his boss fight.
* BigEater: If your Turtle gets knocked out, he'll be transported back to the Turtle Lair, where they proceed to wolf down from a huge pile of pizza to regain their energy.
* BombDisposal: A recurring element in the game are timed segments where the turtles have to defuse bombs set by the Foot. The more turtles doing the disarming at a time, the faster it is.
* BossAlteringConsequence: If you get good scores from completing missions in a level, there is a chance that a secret boss will appear to help the main boss of the level in the middle of the battle, with exceptions being General Krang and Shredder himself[[note]]He's providing assist to Karai at the end of Stage 4, but appears as a final boss fighting by himself[[/note]].
* BossRush: When the Turtles break into TCRI, they end up doing a rematch against every boss in the game before getting to Krang.
* BrooklynRage: While less noticeable than other iterations, Raphael has a mild Brooklyn twang to his speech.
* BrutishCharacterBrutishWeapon: Rocksteady's weapon is a giant hammer.
* CanonImmigrant: ''Mutants in Manhattan'' is the only piece of [=TMNT=]-based content that provides a good look at IDW version of Super Shredder.
* CelShading: The game has a cel-shaded art-style, giving it a comic book aesthetic.
* ChainsawGood: Bebop's primary weapon is a chainsaw.
* DisneyVillainDeath: Shredder meets his end this way, though Michelangelo [[JokerImmunity thinks he might have a jetpack or a parachute]]. Later, [[DisneyDeath it's revealed that he did indeed survive]].
* TheDreaded: Michelangelo remarks that while they have experience fighting mutants and aliens, Karai seems to frighten him the most.
* DualBoss: Normally, the boss encounters consist of all four Turtles fighting against a singular boss. However, if you get a high enough score, another boss will appear to help out the other. For example, Rocksteady helping out Bebop during the game's first boss battle.
* EasyLevelsHardBosses: While the waves of enemies are not very difficult to fight, the bosses, which have [[DamageSpongeBoss seven life bars]], are much more tedious and very slow. Especially given that in the harder difficulties a second boss can also appear, like Bebop appearing midway through the Rocksteady boss fight.%%GratuitousDiscoSequence: One of the abilities you can use in the game.
* HitStop: Once a boss is defeated, you'll get a view of what each turtle was doing at the time as if someone snapped photos of them.
* HulkSpeak: This version of Slash is portrayed as a mindless thug, his speech very simplistic.
--> '''Slash:''' Foot bad.
* LetsGetDangerous: Applies to Shredder himself. Instead of having a partner to assist him, he transforms into Super Shredder to give Turtles the toughest challenge yet.
-->'''Super Shredder:''' ''The true battle'' starts NOW!
* MissionControl: April O'Neil acts as this for the majority of the game, beaming in instructions to the turtles via t-phone.
* MoneyIsExperiencePoints: BP can be used to upgrade skills in addition to buying items.
* MythologyGag: While this April O'Neil is meant to be based off of her [[ComicBook/TeenageMutantNinjaTurtlesIDW IDW comic book]] counterpart, her design is very similar to the [[WesternAnimation/TeenageMutantNinjaTurtles2012 2012 animated April]], her hair tied back in a ponytail, a yellow t-shirt and prominent freckles on her face.
* OneWingedAngel: Do too well in the final battle against Shredder, and he'll turn into Super Shredder.
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: When Shredder ditches the old-fashioned hand-to-hand combat in favor of sudden transformation into Super Shredder, the Turtles are ''not'' amused.
-->'''Don:''' Well, that escalated quickly.
-->'''Mike:''' C-can he even do that?! Like, is that not against the rules or something?
-->'''Super Shredder:''' I ''make'' the rules, reptile!
-->'''Raph:''' Not on our turf, metal-for-brains!
-->'''Leo:''' Focus, guys! This is gonna be our toughest challenge yet.
* SharkMan: Armaggon is a mutant shark the turtles fight in the sewers. Very little is revealed about his background in the game, save for the fact that he is a mutant, and that he is on unfriendly terms with the Turtles. He is revealed to apart of an alliance with Krang and the Shredder as he travels through sewers and delivers an important part for Krang's terraforming device for the promise of being the ruler of all Earth's oceans.
* ShoutOut:
** After you beat Wingnut, he flies off on a flying machine similar to the [[ComicBook/NormanOsborn Green Goblin's]] glider.
** Before the climax of the game, Michelangelo says "[[VideoGame/ZeroWing All your base are belong to us]]" with Krang's robot-head.
* SophisticatedAsHell: When Michelangelo winds up not getting any pizza while the rest of his family take all the slices, no one is sympathetic. ''Even Splinter.''
-->'''Splinter:''' Wise men say: "You snooze, you lose."\
'''Michelangelo:''' Man, I totally hate wise men.
* UnstoppableRage: While not exactly friends, Slash only attacks the turtles because he thought they were invading his territory. It is not until the turtles beat him are they able to calm him down long enough to let him know that they don't mean any real harm. Later they have to fight him again in Shredder and Krang's lair, with implications that he is a recurring victim of brainwashing.
* WingsDoNothing: Despite having his own wings, Wingnut seems to prefer using flying machines over flying, first flying on a flying saucer in his boss-fight and then flying away on a glider. The closest we ever see is that he flaps his wings when he jumps high, implying his wings are not meant for flight. Later subverted in his second boss fight where he is seen hovering.
