Adelaide is the captain of the knights of Voldgeria, beloved by both citizens and subordinates. One day, her father, the commander, requests for her and a subordinate to investigate a merchant selling strange healing drugs; it's possible that they were created using magic, which stories say has been banned in the kingdom for ages, due to wizards abusing their powers. Unfortunately, Adelaide winds up being cursed in the process...

!!This game makes use of the following Tropes:
* AlwaysSecondBest: Yuphia to Adelaide; they have similar ancestries of great knights, and a similar drive to do their best, but Adelaide always came out on top. It's left Yuphia rather resentful.
* {{Bifauxnen}}: Adelaide Devondell, the protagonist.
* BlindIdiotTranslation: The English translation is fraught with errors.
* CapturedOnPurpose: Marlowe intended to be apprehended after cursing a knight, so that the truth about [[{{Unperson}} what happened to the kingdom's wizards]] could come to light.
* ChildhoodFriends: Adelaide and Yuphia knew each other as children, though the latter's [[AlwaysSecondBest resentment]] drove them apart.
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: Phil, who deflects Marlowe's magic and nearly kills the talented mage after Adelaide is hurt.
* EvilSorcerer: Marlowe, who is responsible for cursing Adelaide and attempting to fry Phil with a fireball when they are sent to investigate his illegal magic drugs.
* FacialMarkings: Marlowe has a tattoo on the right side of his face, which matches TheWorseningCurseMark he puts on Adelaide.
* HeroicSelfDeprecation: Phil Alloli, Adelaide's subordinate, has little confidence in himself.
* {{Keet}}: Phil is constantly praising Adelaide, and lets his emotions come before things like "logical thought".
* LockedInARoom: In one story branch, Adelaide is relocated to the (refurbished) cell next to where Marlowe is being imprisoned, so the public won't see her in pain and panic; this is the branch that either leads to Marlowe's ending, or the BadEnd (which still involves Marlowe curing Adelaide's curse after spending time bonding with her).
* LoveRedeems: If [[EvilSorcerer Marlowe]] is chosen as the LoveInterest.
* MultipleEndings: One for each of the three men Adelaide can romance, plus a BadEnd (which ends well, but with NoRomanticResolution).
* NotSoDifferentRemark: Adelaide states this about herself and Marlowe on one story branch, as they're both willing to endure great sacrifices for the sake of their companions.
* PassiveAggressiveKombat: How Yuphia deals with Adelaide, after numerous failed attempts to surpass her in their past.
* SelfCensoredRelease: The erotic [=CGs=] are censored in the commercial release.
* SupernaturalGoldEyes: Marlowe has a pair.
* ThenLetMeBeEvil: Marlowe's motivation; his family was the subject of persecution and vilification by the knights and nobility, so he purposely did suspicious acts to attract the attention of knights and get some revenge.
* {{Tsundere}}: Yuphia still cares about Adelaide, but tries not to be direct about it.
* {{Unperson}}: It turns out that wizardry being outlawed was more recent than Adelaide was taught, with the truth being that many magicians had helped the kingdom fight in a war just 40 years ago, before being driven into hiding or executed due to people fearing their powers.
